What does the crowd chant in the middle sections of the song? I've watched a few live videos of this song, and it seems to happen every time she does the song live.
@HyosukeMagumo Lol, it IS "meccha" holiday. It's basically, a take on a term which is a sort of nonsense word. I don't see why anyone in Hello! Project would be singing about going to Mecca....
yeah, I've seen that too. it's the same as lot of words, I guess lol depends on the context... I've also seen it translated as "super" and other words like the ones we've mentioned.
The hiragana on the single is "めっちゃ," which IS 'me-c-cha.' The uploader is right, it's basically a nonsense term meant to mean 'fun' or 'great.' And while they sometimes use 'mecha' to refer to robots, they have their own words...
'btw,' it's IT'S, and I'm assuming you meant 'not.'
Why would a Japanese bubblegum pop idol sing about going to Mecca?
its common for a singer to have a different kind of voice when compare to a music video.. the reason is simple . Music video voices are edited where as live is not edited. If u hear the voices same as the music it only mean one thing its Lip singing
Actually the main reason is that she simply just got older. As you get older generally your voice gets deeper. If you see her early performances of this song, they match the music video much more. Personally though I think her deep voice is much better.
@SunshineSlayer I like them both :) the young is as equally good but I think the younger voice would not fit her now & I like how she doesn't try to use it.
i don't know why you have 2 thumbs down, if you're right, studio helps to singer voice, because they can repeat their recording until it goes ok, also computer effects, reverbs and all kind of stuff. Live is the ultimate challenge for an artist, and so, when live they use effects too. in my country exist a Salsa band, their live sound is so high that they play so damn close to cd recordings, and they're not lipsinc because i've seen quite times live, they're so good that they reached japan too!

I believe Meccha means happy or exciting. I read the lyrics in English, and it seems it meant this.

@psychox222 Actually, mecha/metcha is not a nonsense word. It means "very".

It's so sweet how she laughs and grins at her own mistakes and is a bit out of breath. In the past she could run and easily sing on with power.
Nowadays it's a bit different, but her voice has grown much more powerful and mature, I love it! :3

OR the person is a reallly good singer, if she sounds the same in a concert as on a cd.
But thats unlikely! D=
