Instead of making noises why don't you make in and help him dispatch the animal. If he gets on a jackrabbit and you don't help him dispatch it he could get seriously injured.
@MrFuckyoumannn I do make in really quick when they are on large game like jacks. With smaller game I give them more time because they don't get help in the wild. I want the bird to be an aggressive hunter and feel the flapping of the wings and the noises which it would naturally get in the wild. It works out great because something even happened and the birds was lost for a couple of days, it needs to be able to fully kill on its own instead of crabbing onto prey.....
@birdguy888 and then just waiting for the falconer to show up to dispatch it. I've seen a lot of birds do that and with a broad-wing, if it was just waiting, it could easily get injured by a jack or other prey as you mentioned.
that pigeon had a life and if it had a choice to live, it would want to live. you have overlooked pigeons having no mercy for them not knowing that they are important. pigeons have advance the course of science & civilization. they helped saved thousands of lives in the war. someone once paid 216,000 dollars for a racing pigeon. The dicken medal was awarded to 54 animals & 32 awards were given to pigeons. they are in the top 15 smartest animals in the world. show some respect seriously!!!!!!
@ParisLoOfficialTV And you need to learn about wild animals. Hawks eat meat from other animals that they catch. They don't eat vegetables so before you go preaching about animal rights and "respect", why do you respect mother nature. That pigeon was fully flighted and was capable of getting away which is what usually happens when hawks and falcons see them and go after them for their survival! They are opportunistic wild hunters that kill to survive. They do the same in the wild!!!!!
@birdguy888 speaking of nature and being wild, why don't you start with not having a hawk sit on your arm, and actually let it just be free and wild. a wild and free hawk will never sit on a persons arm. you contradicted yourself. that pigeon was brought to that location specifically for that hawk to kill, and sense you didn't show us in the video that the hawk was actually chasing the pigeon, something tells me that, that pigeon didn't have a chance to get a head start.
@ParisLoOfficialTV He was raised in captivity. Just like the cat or dog you probably have or had as a pet. And the pigeon was fully flighted and healthy and could have gotten away but didn't. That's survival. End of discussion!
Thank you for yours answer. many respect has harris' hawk that defecate homing pigeon. Your falcon is in need of medication? Possible this come from too many pigeon with medicine himselfs! I live original from Estonia. Please dont curse off my english because i see anger. Thank you my friend.
why would you get a crap on him? I don't get a crap on your harris hawk for catching healthy pigeon for so safe! get luck! your pigeon is eat medicine every day?i am fans of america!
@C0CK00 Your english is really broken so i don't really understand what you are saying except that the pigeon was medicated so it is healthy and doesn't carry any diseases. The pigeon was originally released for my falcon but the wind was too strong for her to fly in so the hawk ended up getting the pigeon while hunting for rabbits.
@C0CK00 Yes, but by shear luck because of a strong tail wind and the pigen landed because it wasn't able to fly in the wind. I was out after rabbits but it was still a great time.
Oh ok i see what u mean then. Sorry i just have been around harris hawks all my life and i know they can't tail chase a pigeon down without some assistance.
There is no way a male harris hawk can fly down a good healthy pigeon from the fist like your describing. You would have to pull wing feathers to give the hawk a chance. Get a video of him catching it.
Actually he did but it was all luck thanks to the weather. We were out after bunny's and the wind came up super strong. Fortunately the pigeon landed while I was walking back to the blazer hugging him because the wind was so strong. He seen it land and took off our of my arms. I use my own pigeons for conditioning purposes but this was just luck! LOL
We put radio trackers called telemetry transmitters on them. Depending on how much you want to spend they will reach from 7 to 35 miles so you can get the bird back if it flys off or just gets too far out of your sight.
Thanks. I use a newer, hand held digital camera that also takes movies since it has a better lens and higher pixel rating. I also don't have to convert the format either which I think really helps! It is a good background song, huh? LOL
