  • At 1:40 he's asking where's the help at? Where's the service at? You can see three employees right behind him busy helping customers as he loudly proclaims how worthless they are. What a douche. Probably the same deal in the other departments he walked through. Instead of getting in line and asking for assistance he just sits there screaming like a child while the associates that sell in those areas are trying to take care of other customers who got there before him.

  • K-mart bought sears.

  • This is no "Retail Expert", this a douche with small man's disease and a chip on his shoulder.

  • The Sears store we have in downtown Salt Lake is full of stupid, ignorant, wetbacks and beaners that don't speak a word of English. The area's surrounded by a bunch of fucking taco carts, bums, hobos, vagrants. It feels like you're in goddamn Mexico.

  • @JMMT7022801 I'm sure someone can find your feedback amusing....but this was uncalled for (in my opinion). It makes you sound exactly what you just described "stupid & ignorant" (if not worse).

  • You are a fuckwitt..

  • as a SEARS sales associate, i'm sorry that you got treated the way you were treated at that store...but i assure you...not ALL SEARS STORE are like THAT ONE...if you come to the SEARS in TRACY, CA and ask for SIM in APPLIANCES...i'd be MORE than happy to assist you...i'm off tuesdays and wednesdays though...but even if you come in when i'm off....i'm ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENT that my fellow associates will treat you with RESPECT and we'll give you a better answer than "the black one"...

  • Has he not been to Sears before?

It's like going to McDonald's and sitting down and bitching no one is coming to serve you.

Sears leaves you alone, notice that once he asked for help the worker helped him.

    Grant is a joke.

  • @Harizl this guy will probably sit at McDonalds with his timer for hours to see how long it takes for someone to help his dumb ass order something

  • Seriously this douche walks into a store and hangs out in clothes area waiting for help to buy a lawn mower. I would have actually loved to see a associate actually offer him a hand. What was he going to say to them "hi i am here for a lawn mower and thought i would find one in clothes" wow dumb ass.

  • @head2fiststyle12345 No kidding!!!! lol...

  • I hope someone from Sears sees this. i hardly shop at sears but when i do this is the kind of customer service i get...None, it sucks. I work in retail and you can not please every customer but if you see a customer wandering around you should greet them and make them aware of any promotional things going on and let them know you can assist them if needed.

  • @bluesugar58 no if i need something ill ask, if not i tell them to fuck off why you gettin all up in my business...

  • believe it or not, the employees actually have work to do and cannot stop to hold your hand and walk you around the store.

  • It's funny his hat says no negativity lol dude that's what u r 100% negativity!! And if u need help trying on a shirt then u got problems bud! Go to the appliance department or electronics or the lawn and garden were u do need help! He was just staying in the clothes department because he knows there's no sales people there!!

  • Did the guy below me actually watch the video?

  • too funny how this idiot needed help to take the Kardashian shirt off the hanger..hey buddy all you need to do is remove the article of clothing and BAM its done..you went to the part of the store that 99.9% of people NEVER need help..you NEVER entered the appliances or electronics. love the idea 2 show america how lazy the world is but you have to be smarter then this! Its sad! But if u need help removing any types of clothes from any hangers let me know I can post a video on here to help you

  • hey idiot (cool breeze)--go to any fucking department store like loses and home depot! You know how many customers sears get that say I hate home depot and loses. Shut the fuck you delusional idiots. Sears has great customer service. I shop there a lot--hence I am passionate. and yeah I am one of those customers that hates lowes, walmart and home depot.

  • @cardoneisafag *Lowe's

  • Sometimes the truth hurts, but it is what it is. Sears has always = poor customer service and poor quality for the most part (Snapper and Craftsman are fair brands). But this is what you get when you staff the store with lazy teenagers and/or minimum wage wannabe sales people. No one cares about their job which = no knowledge of products and poor service.

  • Everyone that blames the economy is pathetic. People spend money when they are given a reason to. There are plenty of companies out there that are thriving. Sears is a perfect example of a old company that will die because they can't adapt. You guys need to wake up and stop blaming all of your problems on someone else. Awww the economy is bad, this war is pointless, Obama sucks....blah fucking blah blah

  • This video sucks, you didn't prove anything. I work on the sales floor at Sears, they have plenty of problems, but I would never help someone walking around with a cameraman. It would've been pretty clear that you had malicious intentions, even if you really did want to purchase a lawn mower.

  • You have to be in the system to understand, I can only blame the poor economy. I work at Sears and you should be glad if you get 15 hours in 1 week and that mostly happens when there is a visit from corporate. No enough fund to keep associates in every departments but its natural for the customers not to understand that.

I just hope the economy gets better, a hungry man is an angry man.. If your job cant pay your phone bill, it will be hard to do well at that job.

    God bless America

  • Sears usually only has 1 person (MCA) in the clothing areas per department. When its busy, the MCA is usually stuck on the register. Here is the point that I think is wrong, my friends is an MCA and after being the #1 store in their district during this past Christmas season they had to split 200 hours between 16 people, 4 of which are considered full time and then they are combined with the signing team (who gets most of those hours & before store opens). 9 of them didn't get many hours.

  • you can try on the dress and wait...what? Pay for it at a cash register?

And haha can you put a blower together.....you idiot....you wouldn't be able to use cause your so dumb you don't realize blowers are pre assembled with pretty much connecting two parts together and bam...

    you fucking idiot.

  • @cardoneisafag Ah ok so someone that has never used power tools in there life should just know everything? You would be the idiot. As a sales professional it is your job to answer questions and teach.

  • and to answer your question yes fag you are required to take it off the rack and pay for it yourself YES just like every where else you son of #$#$#@!@!!!!!!! Its fucking clothes. You want sears to hire 1,000 people and wait on you while holding your camera for you and another guy paid to laugh at your "freaking" and immature 15 yr old slang? Not going to happen. You can take that off the rack and pay for it or wait for it....wait for it...try it on? Yes you can try on that dress you tranny

  • and idiot...the government didn't bail out retail stores...your so $^$^$ stupid...wow..........God I hate stupid people like this that live in our country....let me guess your unemployed and trying to get somebody to hire you like Sears, hahahaha. They won't call you or hire you fucking tool. They have better experts. Sears has the best and rigorous training that Home Depot and Lowes trys to recruit so shut up. That guy might have been new...new employees happen everywhere. wow..stupidity.

  • like Sears. The local store here is amazing and is always packed. Its sad psychology of people when they see a kid picked on they join in but I don't follow stupidity and I judge the store on what I experience and I love Sears. I really hope you crash in a plane or crash your car and bleed to death you idiot who apparently needs help picking clothes when no other cloth retailer does that...??! Electronics and tools--sure but they were probably busy--they will be with you like that gentleman did

  • prevention guy beat you up to a pulp. We can only pray sadly but wish you all the worst you piece of %&$. You don't signify the consumer or america--you represent the idiots of this country. You don't film on somebody else's property A and second you give respect to get respect. Retail employees are not your slaves--they are people and will help you and go above beyond if you are fair and kind. Again no other retailer but walmart greets you. No retailer even including walmart sells you stuff

  • or are you a mommas boy and need your mom. Nobody knows of Cardone and gives a *$%^. Sears though people know. They have been in business forever and will remain to contrary of the news--my local Sears is packed and I love it--I have never got greeted and helped MORE THAN Sears so this gets under my skin. Again who the fuck unless you are in suits is going to help you in apparel you son of %$#@. Are you challenged and can't pick your own clothes?! I really hope you die. I wish the loss

  • Wow. Are you an idiot? I am sick with people giving retail corporations that are worth billions of dollars advice. First, Eddie Lampert bought Kmart then Sears...not other way around you waste of life. Second, Sears is the best at helping people....go into Target, Macy, JC Penny's....nobody will talk to you until you get to the cashier...God i pray you die but anyways..but idiot nobody will ever wait on you on apparel--do you not know how to read signs and pick your own clothes

  • I worked for sears for 11 years. I started at sears 6 years before the kmart merger. working for the old sears was a pleasure. people who worked there we're nice to eachother and to the customers. it was a pleasent easy atmousphere for everyone. I cant overstate what I'm about to say. as soon as eddie lampert merged the two it bacame a nightmare to be in. penny pinching, controlling, threatning, indifference, became common opperation. the stores took on lamperts personality traits.good people left.

  • HAHA you gotta love all the goons who are ripping on Grant Cardone...If they only knew who they were talking about...You're the man Grant!! Keep it up...and all you dumbasses: take notes!!!!!!!

  • This is crazy. Has this guy ever been anywhere in his life? fuckin timing the whole thing? Ask your iphone 4s for directions to any other retailer anywhere (ok, not anywhere) and start you timer. The door greater at wal-mart, no longer greats you! GROW UP. Actually, don’t focus on growing up. Just please, please get a job. Damn.

  • None of this is accurate information. One store doesn't represent ALL Sears stores. It seems they don't work commission. If they did, they would seem a little more motivated to interest you in their product, no? Either that, or they just dislike their job. The whole store is not commissioned-based, so don't expect that kind of service. I get irritated by the "robot" approach. If you want that kind of service, go to a high end store where they make pure commission. They'll want your money.

  • What? You need someone to help you fit and find clothes? What are you a baby? Just pick out what you want and buy it. I go to Sears and I like not being hassled by sales reps. I'm not buying a car. Sorry your mom is not along with you to go shopping. As far as tools, cabinets, etc., what kind of man doesn't know about compressors and simple install cabinets?

  • sears's problem is the way they treat their employees. "i have a friend" thats worked at sears for almost 3 years and he makes about half of what he made when he started. and the workers who make commision get their commision cut in half on major sales like black friday and other doorbuster sales. also, the part-time vs. full-time is completely whacked out. they've got around 10 part time to 2 full time per department meaning that 10 of these people are getting less than 20 hours a week.

  • HA I work at that exact sears, dude all of us are really busy, thats all I got to say.

  • THIS douchebag is "the American problem." Cocky middle-aged materialistic douchebag with a terrible accent. Seems to fit the bill.

  • @WANT

exactly, he's 50 going on 15. Guy is extremely immature and delusional.

  • @WANT You are not kidding, this guy is a douchebag. I wouldn't want to talk to him if I worked there too.

  • looks like a case of "no-commision" for employees at sears.

  • Yes, Sears sucks like nowhere else, but this guy's video is an even bigger failure. Plus this cocky asshole looks like somebody I'd want to punch in the face anyways.

  • When I walk into a store I honestly don't expect anyone to wait on me. In fact, the most annoying stores are the ones that ask "Do you need help? Do you need help? Do you need help" with every few steps you take. If I have a question I will ask, that's when you know I will need help. So if you are a customer who likes to be greeted then go to Walmart where they have a greeter, or Aeropostale where every employee asks you if you need help.

  • @StevieRay787 Thank You! That's what people don't understand about retail stores!

  • Why does everyone think sears is the worst retailer on the planet? You think that was a horrible associate and he didnt know anything (which he did just fine, probly stumbled a little bit because he wanted to punch you in the face) try going to home depot, you cant even find an associate that knows how to use the mower let alone help you with differences. Oh and if you need something serviced, good luck. And if you need help trying on clothes call your mom, you probly live in her basement.

  • If he wouldnt have looked so fishy, walked into a Dept where they actually have associates working, then you could potentially make a fair judgement. chances are this guy had been in before shooting the thing, to scope out what would make the store look the worst. go into any sears stores electronics or appliances dept, they always greet you and are very educated. Unfortunately, the only way these stores make any money, is thru appliances and tools/electronics.

  • Thirdly, they sent the MPU guy over there to help with the customer so he wouldnt intimidate an associate into doing something potentially wrong with the store. Its obvious he wasnt an MPU guy, because all sears salesman are told to wear blue with khakis or black slacks. remember the "blue tools crew or blue electronics crew" commercial? Anyway, Of course, the MPU guy, prolly the MPU manager, wasnt completely educated. He was there to see what the heck this guy with a cam, stealing is doing.

  • Secondly, the worst mistake he made is picking up a jacket and putting it on, not putting it in the cart. He even fiddled with the tag, so the Loss Prevention people immediately tell all departments to be on the look out for this guy and to not help him to avoid any potential criminal issues. If someone helps him and says, hey isnt that our jacket are you stealing that, the store could be in trouble. So the associate in tools wasnt a tools assocaite at all, it was a Merch Pick up guy.

  • Lets clarify some things by this tool.

The reason nobody welcomed him is because Sears purposely understaffs their clothing associates. The people that help are called MCA's that are not trained to assist customers. they do this so they can hire more ppl to sell things. The next in line to help are the cashiers. If he wouldve walked into the Tools, Electronics, or Appliances, he wouldve been greeted immediately as thats their job.

  • Kmart brought out sears FYI not other way around.... Dumbass

  • This video depicts issues with lack of customer service, though it would have been interesting to covertly record the experience to see how it played out. Many businesses use covert video mystery shopping, as it lets them see the customer experience as their customers do. When businesses monitor social media & note problems with a location, they will also use covert video shops to investigate further. Using covert video evaluations can definitely help identify customer service issues!

  • No one helps in any store. Where have you been?

  • That's what they get for being jerks! And don't be a Grant Hater just because he's confident and successful. He's got a lot of great ideas and suggestions. Keep up the great work Grant!

  • @webjayce Wow why dont you kiss ass a little more

  • I work for sears, and I gotta say, this was an interesting video. I mean not all stores are that way, and like someone else said, of course no one will help you, you've got camera(s) pointed. No one wants to be filmed. Our store on the other hand, is very good in customer satisfaction, let's see you walk in my department in my store and I'll probably school you on a blower or mower. You stupid ignorant.

  • after xmas hours r cut hence less staffing 2 kiss ur ass.

yes ur xpected 2 take it off the rack its not bloomingdales, go fetch.

r u expecting royal treatment that u keep looking at da time?

no 1 asked u 2 sign in cuz ur suppose 2 go 2 the office 2 announce n sign urself in.

    no 1 helped u cuz no 1 wants 2 b on cam.

u asked wat color he told u which then he went in detail.

    its the economy thats dead.

working @ Sears is like working in a china factory, ur underappreciated, underpaid n overworked.

  • @llWickedScythell agreed. well said. I about threw up when he mentioned not getting help with the kardashian stuff. This guy obviously has not stopped breast feeding yet. someone should let his mother know.

  • The genius of this video is not the exposing of sears's poor service, but instead it's a slick way for grant to go solicit sears as his next customer. Right? If he wants to be sears's "Turnaround King", why not create a viral video showing their failures. Brilliant approach but poorly executed in my opinion. Would have been better with hidden cameras.

  • When the Big Kmart in my town became a Sears Essentials in 2005 it nearly lost the entire support of the town instantly. It used to be a jam packed store, at one point after Rich's and Bradlees shuttered, it was the only department store in the city, until Walmart and Target finally opened in the mid 2000's. Before 05 there had been a small independently owned Sears that did good business. I'm suprised it took so long for our Sears to close. I didn't know anybody that does their shopping there.

  • Top Five reason This video is a Fail!

    1. instead of greeting you, they called security because of the camera. 2 min once in store.

2.The lawn more guy knew what he was talking about. No Snapper answer under 1 min

3.Store was clean and look organized in your video.

4.The Black one is only Craftsman, He Thought you can read.

5.This video Fail's because you have an Ego but Lampert is above your level.

  • What will happen with my Kenmore equipment warranty if Sears goes into bankruptcy????

  • @cajun134 not every store will close and you paid for the service so they will be there if you need it your kenmore equipment is fine

  • Comment removed

  • If I saw a smelly turd walking through my store, I wouldn't go up and approach it either.

  • C'mon man your intention wasn't to buy anything. Your intention was to EXPOSE. Expert Lol!!! What happened your ice maker stopped working?

  • Attitude and customer service sales merchandise. The problem in America today is too many people think they are entitled too something better there current situation and don't want to climb the ladder to success. It's not just Sears, it's all across America. Yes this a tech-savvy nation and there is nothing wrong with that but gerneration X and generation Y need to wake up to what's really going on.If you wanna be extremely successful you need to SMILE, EYE contact and a FIRM Handshake. I'm OUT

  • It's a people problem, i agree with you 100% Grant!

  • Yeah, those salesmen were jerks. I would of sold Cardones ass..

  • I'd have thrown this jerk out too. A "retail expert"??? Seriously? Comes in unannounced with cameras blazing knowing full well that retails have a no photography without prior authorization policy....tries on a jacket and walks the store with the jacket on.....asks about product he CLEARLY knows the store doesn't stock....and acts put out when asked to leave. This is no "retail expert". This guy is a jerk.

  • @Hdtexan So what? Customers are jerks. Anybody who work retails knows this. I get people like grant all the time at my store. The ask questions, they bullshit me, etc. But my job is to sell them. That's what a sales person does.

  • I have worked in customer service/retail for years. Our job is not to stand around waiting to ask what your name is or what you do. The majority of our work is in the back storage parts of the store, that's why you don't see us! If you actually needed help you could easily find employees at the registers or use the store's help phones located throughout the store!

Keep up with the times and do your own damn homework on what to buy.

  • @akdubs47 That's Bullshit.Tools, mowers, etc, are sold by salespersons. There you should be somebody at the floor at all times to answers question, greet customers and sell. Clothing departments should have somebody there as well to greet customers and help. Also to help prevent shrink (theft). The guy at mowers tho, was a pretty bad sales person. I could have done a better explaining the benefits of a Sears only brand like craftsman than he did.

  • @js1486 Have you ever worked retail? If so than you should know there is not a store in the world that would flood the sales floor with associates in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day. The sales people could have busy. No one ever think of that? Be patient. You all act like they are blowing off to play cards in the back room.

  • Sears customer experience may be crappy but you seem like a jerk.

  • This pretty much the reality of any shopping experience. Most of the employees are still in school making minimum wage and dealing with customers that think they are the most important person in the store. The stores are understaffed and each associate is expected to know everything about everything and to know it instantly. I can't name a major retail store that does not operate this way. Customers need to take some responsibility for their shopping experience too.

  • Comment removed

  • I have been a very loyal Sears #%*^ for 10 years and I'm sad to say that I've lost the faith! Maybe they will see your movie and improve? Yea-right..

  • It is easy to find fault. Much harder to do. I find no value in this.

  • The portrayal is a little unfair for this particular store but he's 100% right, it's not even really the employees fault, they don't want to sell anything unless you're getting the extended warranty because if you don't buy it they're gonna get chewed out by their managers who get stuck sending emails to their DM about how terrible their numbers are when they should be coaching associates.

  • This guy is sooooo correct happens at Sears Canada not just US, very badly understaffed and un-educated about their products they are selling! So true! Can't tell you the last time I bought anything at Sears, have had many issues like this guy faced!!! Wake up Sears!!!

  • You are really pathetic. You only did this video to try to get Sears to hire you. You did exactly the opposite. Everyone just thinks your an asshole.

  • I'm speaking based on what my friend who used to work at Sears said. She said that Sears thinks they give enough hours to the MCA's who work in the clothing areas enough hours to have multiple people on the floor, but since most of those hours go to the people who do the signing there isn't enough hours to have more than more than one person in a dept at a time. So its usually 1 MCA and 1 cashier per dept. And the amount of hours they get is based on previous months sales.

  • and also Kmart bought Sears and Sears is a top 3 retailer, Sales did not drop to $400 million you should check your facts before you post things they are around 42 Billion. Why would Sears want to talk to you when you can't even do proper research.!

  • There not helping him because they know he's not a customer. Normal customers don't go into stores with video cameras. Most major retail stores don't allow any type of pictures or video taping so he's lucky they didn't kick him out then and there. The associate who ended up helping him had probably been informed by his Loss prevention to keep an eye on him because walking around with a jacket he hasn't paid for yet and video taping is a major red flag for theft and fraud.!

  • just one world.MOTHER FUCKER.

  • @seagate61 just one world? what do you me one world?

  • Grant Cardone is looking for cheap publicity .....

  • This guy is such a jerk. Any store will not allow you to film and employees cannot comment on company matters. I agree with ethicalmom. This guy is out to make a buck at the expense of sears. Have you been to Walmart , target, or any other big box retailer lately? No one is there to " wait on you". It's the reality of todays economy

  • @cabanas1962 "Any store will not allow you to film" WRONG Apple welcomes customer to film their stores. "No one is there to wait on you" WRONG Apple always has employees to wait on you. "It's the reality of today's economy" WRONG Apple is the 2nd most valuable company in the world. "This guy is such a jerk" That is your opinion, and at the end of the day that is all you have. While the guy you call a jerk has much more. Enjoy your reality.

  • @BuddhaCharlie maybe you didn't notice, but this WASN'T AN APPLE STORE! And yes, this guy is a jerk looking for publicity. Enjoy YOUR reality...it seems pretty deluded at best.

  • to everyone posting, this gentleman sells business solutions, has published multiple books, this is an opinion post. If you had an opinion that actually helped Sears go from 400million back to 4billion lets hear it..

  • And to think THIS SMUG ASSHOLE sells himself as a "retail specialist" and doesn't know you DON'T walk into a store with cameras blazing and expect "service"??? What a joke this EXPERT is!

The associates did EXACTLY what they should have done....escorted your worthless ass out of the store with the cameras.

  • I have to say, your video is disingenuous at best and duplicitous at worst. You only give two shots that establish what sort of customer flow the store is having on that particular day. The outside shot and one in the inside, which suggest it was fairly busy. As much as we wish there was 1-1 service, I think the employees are more likely to be assisting the actual customers and not some guy who comes in being trailed by someone filming him. That doesn't present you as a customer at all.

  • @chibipoe so your saying that he was not helped because he had a camera. Yet it takes 20minutes for them to realize he is even there..... Get your facts straight. Pick up his book. 20 minutes, 19 minutes it doesn't matter. If you don't have any service it drops the value of your business extramentally.

  • @MiamiB1ch Well, first of all, if you watch the video, he is approached before 20 minutes. Also, again, there's information we don't have. Like, how busy was it? The cameraman takes the effort, with a few exceptions early on, to make sure we can't see how busy the store is. As I said, as much as we wish for there to be a 1:1 ratio of customers to employees, that simply isn't feasible and if they are busy enough, people do fall through the cracks. Even more so when the person in question is

  • @MiamiB1ch obviously not a customer. I think my facts are straight. Someone coming into a store with a cameraman in tow in, from what we CAN see, is a decently busy store, is clearly not a customer. Should they have approached him sooner? Yes, undoubtedly, but to use this as unilateral proof that the chain of stores as a whole is bad is a joke. There simply isn't enough information here to support his statement. One experience does not define the whole, especially when he's clearly going out of

  • @MiamiB1ch his way for this specific reaction. And though I was avoiding bringing this up, Mr. Cardone can't even get his facts straight. Five minutes of research shows that Sears was, in fact, purchased by K-mart A quick google search reveals this. So, why precisely, would a "Retail Expert' not know this? One of his twitter posts even references a Sears-Target merger. In either case, as I said, he doesn't present a full view of the situation that day at that store due to no info on the state of

  • @MiamiB1ch business there or such. So, frankly, this video is absolutely worthless.

  • Douche.

  • @Marbles194 At first, you seem like you care about customers and the company, but then you talk about the "children" managers and dirty clothes. You give a infantile rant but dont want to be called infant. I have worked for large blue chip companies in the past, and they are the same. Sears has problems, and most of them stem from the lack of pride people have for the company. To say you wouldnt be mad to lose your job is spitting on the thousands of people who will. Terrible show my friend.

  • This guy needs a lot of personal help.

  • The funniest part about this whole thing is that the man selling the mower does not make minimum wage. He is receiving a base of six dollars and hour plus a one to four percent commission on everything he sells from hardware, fitness and lawn care. On average, a typical hardware salesman, as they are called will receive a benefit rate ranging from ten to fifthteen dollars a hour. The company itself in my opinion is trying so hard to find solid ground but just cant seem to get there.

  • That was bad customer care

  • I don't get a "Hello" in JC Penney either. The only person that greets me in WalMart is the door greeter, the other 200 WalMart employees don't say a thing at all, sometimes not even the cashier. This isn't why Sears is failing... They are failing because Amazon is killing their electronics dept (Best Buy too). Sears dominates appliances more than Home Depot & Lowe's combined.

PS. Sears sales are $40 billion not $400 million. You don't know what you're talking about.

  • @Po6ept1 You hit some great points that I wanted to say for sure. I think it is dangerous to assume that thousands of people are going to lose their job this year all because of the bad customer service he got in one store. Walmart is terrible and still remains the giant. There is more to it.

  • OMG!! Please dont listen to a thing this guy has to say. Your attitude is despicable. You look like an A hole..especially when you put on merchandise that isnt yours and when you still tape someone who tells you not to. I wouldnt trust my 100 dollar a year ebay seller account with you. Wow....

No one approached you because you look shady and are doing something against a company's policy. That is all.

  • @copyrightme7 Maybe Grant went on a bit hard on this one but he is the Man and knows his business. Check out Turnaround King on National Geographic and you get the idea.

  • Comment removed

  • @grennangojira Wow... Have you been to the world's largest retailer (Wal-mart)? Im not saying the customer service was the best, but dear God... when did this world get so blind? When you do something overtly wrong and draw attention to yourself, you are going to get treated like he did at ANY retailer. And since when do you try on merchandise by walking around pulling your personal items out of the pockets (cell phone). He is disrespectful in this video and it shows his character.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok so maybe Mr. Cardone isn't such a bad guy after all. As long as you had good intentions with the video. Sears and Kmart do need some help and if you think you can help them, more power to ya.

  • Grant retail in general is feeling the pinch and they are in blame mode for all the sales from internet sites.

I wonder what would have happened if you went and "signed in" at the reception as a secret shopper?

  • To those who say they like to be left alone in stores. Apple understood that as well, they put iPads at every station and if I need help, I'm a click away. I can also use my iPhone to summons help. That being said, if I walked through an Apple store the way Grant did, camera and all. I guarantee you that I would not only be helped, but be treated with the utmost respect. And Apple has no problem with cameras. Just look at YouTube's iJustine. Apple is the 2nd most valuable company in the world.

  • @BuddhaCharlie Im wondering how large your store is? Apple has the ability to have smaller stores which allow every associate to be greeted as soon as you walk in the door. To my knowledge Sears stores have a far larger sq footage.

  • sears can learn from starbucks on customer service.

  • FYI, Making minimum wage is not an excuse for being a jerk. When I made minimum wage I knew that the only way to NOT make minimum wage was to do the best possible job I could. I found a place to work that I loved and quickly climbed the ranks out of minimum wage. I did that by providing high levels of customer service and busting my butt

  • @StopDontQuit and you bring home chump change like a proud broke American

  • @DrShitandStank You're absolutely right, Doctor. I am a proud American and I wake up every day unemployed. I also don't have a "job" anymore. I have a purpose, which is far greater than myself. It is my ethical duty to succeed and to produce so I can provide for my family. Many blessings to you in the New Year!

  • @StopDontQuit Welcome to the internet. Here you give a motivating speech about climbing ladders and someone with the screen name s#$t and stank has a right to comment. You are right, keep reaching for the top and get there. Happy New Year

  • First, when you go into a store such as Sears, they do not allow video cameras because of the proprietary information that is in the store each person sees when they come in such as the positioning of products. With the way you acted in that video, I wouldn't have approached you either, because of your attitude.

Second, your hat and your attitude seem to contradict each other--why don't you have walk into Sears like a normal person and see if their reaction changes.

  • @effectiveexecutive Not sure the hat or camera had anything to do with his experience... Have you seen what happens with a hidden camera and as a "normal" person? He did that in the Turnaround King on National Geographic... pretty good stuff, you should check it out

  • Instead of criticizing Sears you should HELP them with your extraodinary "skills".The security guys probably watching you thinking you're going to STEAL that jacket & add in the camera, you probably appear to be a shoplifter!!On top of that, think of the women & young girls working there,I doubt they would walk up to some middle aged guy wearing merch.& using a camera! Those associates are more than likely making minimum wage! They all had probably reached their asshole quota for the day anyways.

  • @bahwickee I would LOVE to HELP Sears. Sears Execs or Edward Lampert call me 310-777-0255. This video was done to show the problem, and I can fix this problem quickly and easily. Last year my company shopped over 500 organizations then installed customized processes and trained tens of thousands of people. Sears is an American Icon that I would like to see back on top.

  • @GrantCardone I like that attitude.

  • @GrantCardone I bet if you went into any other retailer you would get the same response. Go into a Lowes or Home Depot and if its softlines go into Walmart, Targte or Khols you wont get any help there either. And if maintained in one dept for more than 20 seconds instead of walking around the store maybe someone would walk over to help you. Stop trying to promote your scam

  • @GrantCardone you're a dousch bag.

  • @bahwickee

You sound like the perfect drone, A real salesperson would embrace the camera and step up to the task. Aspire to a higher level and people follow. Nobody here has the skill set to handle the situation. There .01% of the time you should treat a customer like an idiot.

  • @bahwickee trying to...assholes are buyers too man. If you aren't willing to sell the 'assholes' you probably will be trouble.

  • @GrantCardone Truth Gc!

  • Good stuff

  • I worked in retail before I started selling cars, and it was a company policy to acknowledge any consumer that walks into the store within 10 seconds of them walking into our doors. How hard is it to say good morning or hello to a consumer when the CONSUMER is the one paying YOUR paycheck. And also, all companies I have worked for I had to be trained on the material I was selling so when a consumer is asking questions you know what you are talking about.

  • My experience with Sears is that their stores have aweful lighting: not only ugly but I've seen a store with about 30% of it's lights turned off throught the second floor. The ceiling tiles were mismatched and stained, the signage was inadequate, the carpet was dirty, old, and worn out. The shelving was old, ugly and very noticable because product wasn't placed properly: ever notice how Real Canadian Superstore or Walmart will not have a dime's width of space between products?

  • Who was that in the Raiders T-Shirt? Tell me how staff being borderline combative is good for any brand. "... I see a light what's up?" This kind of service is why businesses fail.

  • KMART bought out Sears a couple of years ago. Most stores are understaffed and the employees are only paid a minimum wage. (Not exactly a great combination to inspire any employee). Mr. Grant seems to be quite rude and evidently hasn't worked retail and therefore seems to have little understanding about being overworked, underpaid, and have no benefits.

  • @sheilakburton Do a little homework on Grant... he built his career from a retail sales position

  • So... nobody bothered you?

    That's good.

I hate it when sales staff ask me if I need help. I DON'T.

If I wanted help, I'd ask.

I commend the staff here, you suck.

  • @moopMASTER2000Films Bro, he was begging for help. Asking for it everywhere he went, you saw 5 minutes in store of a 20 minute in store experience... Had he met a sales professional, he would have bought. The proof isn't in this video, it's in the pudding. The company is going under, they are closing stores. Great companies don't have to pay minimum wage and attract great employees, this is obviously a poorly run company that creates a bad experience for the shoppers & their staff.

  • First off, you can tell right off the bat this douche wasn't there to buy anything. Second, he's violating store policy by videoing... it's private property, they can ask you to stop at any time and they have to right to ignore a douchebag who is asking odd questions and jumping from one topic to the other while recording people without consent. This seemed more like a rant... loss prevention got to you quick, they have a thing for picking out douches.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker Did you see that stack of cash in Grant's hand? He walked in there looking for a salesman. Too bad Sears likes to pre-qualify their customers.

  • It was cracking me up when he was talking about the compressor. Don't think he had a clue as to what it was. Then when he asks the price of the mower...seriously. Last time I walked through a Sears they had price tags hanging from all the mowers. If he was going to really judge customer service he should of went in wanting to buy something in the first place.

  • Do your research before buying a product. Ask an employee for assistance. This isn't a 5 star restaurant. I shop everywhere and I don't always get asked if I need help or not. So, next time treat the employee's with more respect, and maybe they will treat you with the same courtesy.

Who wears a jacket and walks around the store with an attitude? That's just a red signal for security to be on your ass.

  • Try approaching the employee's and ask questions instead of flashing your camera and giving attitude to other people. People like you who have this kind of attitude are the ones that are giving the U.S a bad reputation.

  • Uhmm, you do know that there are 10x more customers than employees and not every employee can engage every customer. 3 minutes is nothing Grant. As you said in your previous comments that McDonalds and Starbucks gave you more service is because those are food franchises and your only ordering food. Not every Sears employee is specialized in hardware, housewares, women's and men's fashion.

  • Obviously this loser is just pissed that no one knew who the f he was. They didn't roll a red carpet out for me so I'm leaving.

  • @jmcmin0 This guy doesn't have enough views to be recognized as anything.

  • @GraphicPerfection You say: "this guy doesn't have enough views." ??? That's funny coming from a person with 0 videos and 0 views. I just looked at "this guy's" youtube channel and he has 1,096,411 views... just slightly over a Million more than you. I'm going to go ahead and give him some recognition... a least a little more than you.

  • It's Sears not Hugo Boss.

  • So we need to know who grant cardone is to have an opinion? He had a negative attitude from the moment he walked in the store. Within 30 seconds he was talking shit. So retailers should hire a door greeter to stand up front and greet this D-bag. And why does a grown ass man need help putting on a jacket? Who would have thought if two clowns rolled around a retail store ranting and raving with a camcorder that employees would be hesitant to approach you ?? Smarten up you toolshed.

  • Here are the facts. Kmart bought out Sears.Sears stock fell 27 % as of Tuesday120 Sears and Kmart stores have recently closed. (dailyfinance) I get better service in a car wash by school kids. There is no need to get mad at this video- just disappointed if you go the extra mile in your own work and see someone else not. This service in Sears was like mine without a camera - without the last bit ;) By the way gosh I wonder how many people have recorded footage in public places*checks youtube -.-

  • you naysayers are the ones who bring this country down. have pride for something, because whatever you do is at least worth doing right. buy his fuckin videos.

  • obviously none of you who made negative comments to this video did not look and see who grant cardone is. he is exactly right, if i seen someone with a camera a would basically knock my presentation out of the park and built rapport with both individuals. hell sears would be giving me a damn raise. folks, its all about your attitude. this video could of been labeld something totally diffrent if anyone did their job with passion, energy, knowledge, and the right attitude.

  • @jwhite0105 That is so true you hit the nail on the head.

  • @freakman707 Your just some person that follows men between the legs.

  • Wait...what?

I don't WANT sales people bothering me. If I need help, I will ask for it. Otherwise, leave me alone.

  • @wydok That is exactly what most people want. People need to think of what they need or they need time to compare prices. Many people don't go into stores knowing what they need sometimes. Thumbs up.

  • Pretty sure you were asked to sign in and visit with the managers because u were filming about nine minutes in. And who the f puts on a coat and walks around a store. Security probably thought u were stealing or something then realized u had a film crew. All this proves is that you're a bigger tool bag than I originally thought.

  • As mentioned below, you need to get your facts straight. Kmart bought Sears. I also think it is pretty common knowledge that most stores do not allow filming without permission, so getting mad at the employees for asking who you are and asking you to get permission to film is ridiculous. I would be very weirded out if someone came in like this with a video camera, so you can't blame the employees for how they acted. They don't know who he is and what he is going to do with the video. Creepy!

  • Question : What are the SALES staff hired to do? No customer interaction is perfectly okay if you want to go bankrupt. My sister works in retail and the people at her work treat the people who come in very well. Acknowlegment is like hygeine not having it stinks, but having it is just meeting the standard. Sears is in trouble , and maybe not just because of C/S , but I've looked at these comment and I say that there wouldn't be so much negativity if it weren't true.

  • Nice, Grant! Haters love you on this one!

  • AND brandishing your camera all about like you are Dateline or something. Of course that will bring the wrong kind of attention and kicked out. Rightfully so. Go back to taking kids' lunch money on the playground.
