I could say Orson Wells encapsulated every perfect thing about directing inside Citizen Kane, which he did, but it wouldn't apply to the days of Speilberg. Actually, Spielberg does have a penchant for embarrassingly saccharine scenes that go on and on, long enough to make a viewer feel plain uncomfortable. I remember watching "E.T." and thinking during the good-bye scene, "Okay, okay, enough already, now get going!"

I could say Orson Wells encapsulated every perfect thing about directing inside Citizen Kane, which he did, but it wouldn't apply to the days of Speilberg. Frankly, I'm not that schooled on Hitchcock, but I know he didn't like method actors, which kind of marks a point in Scorsese's corner, working w/ De Niro, lol. Actually, Spielberg does have a penchant for embarrassingly saccharine scenes that go on and on, long enough to make a viewer feel plain uncomfortable. I remember watching "E.T." and thinking during the good-bye scene, "Okay, okay, enough already, now get going!"

My opinion is Spielberg feels inferior in doing so based solely on that experience.

@jacklockehume Its interesting how Ep3 turned out to be really good when Ep1 & 2 were mediocre. It almost feels like theres not much important happening in Episode 1 Storywise. Hayden Christensen still irritated me when he acted with Portman in Episode 3, but not as much as in Ep2.

In many ways it makes them build a mythology harder to make and it gives the maker a more distinct style. In the end the Syar Wars films are 6 and Lucas is almot soully responsible for them, and they form a grea saga. It is on the top 100best films of all time list of the Americam filminsititute, on 77, it was selected by the libarry of congress for cultural preservation, and being historicly cultusrally and astheticly significant. By the 90`s it had grossed over 200 milon in grosand home media sales and it also groossed over 50 milion more in rentingd. This i all much better then Amistad, The Sugarland Express, The Terminal, or Always.. etc...

By the way, Blur was good for about two months. Bob Dylan has always been a poor man's Woody Guthrie (and I don't even like W.Gthrie) and Robert Plant has only had one decent song (big log) since leaving Led Zep. You shd cull thru your musical list for these obvious lemons.
