With a great deal of reflection. 1973/4 the best years of my life. To truly share something so special, with this album in the background, amoungst others. Be honest with yourself. some of you know what I mean!
This Album was the first album that my dad gave me as a present, when I was like 13-14 yrs old. Before that I was listening shit music (mtv, radio...).
THIS ALBUM for me was "THE PORTAL" to good rock, prog-rock, fusion music later on, bands like Weather Report, Groundhogs, Atomic Rooster, Billy Cobham, Gong, Soft Machine, Passport, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Caravan, Man and many more!!!
Now, I feel saved from bad music. Thank's to my dad :)
Awesome, the Apollo in Glasgow I was supposed to watch this concert with who I still think to this day is the most beautiful woman on earth, Kim Dunning. Went myself, because i Joined the Marines, Still think of her every time i hear this song.
The first time I heard Ash was in the 70's & I was a little girl but still remember them as my Uncle that lived with me played Argus all the time,fan-fucken-tastic!!!Can you dig it?
I saw Wishbone ash in Truro two years ago, before that I saw Korn live. As it turned out I actually enjoyed wishbone ash more than I did Korn :') I actually saw this song live, man. The album doesn't seem to do it justice. During the main solo I sware to god I nearly came... Man. I hope to see them again very soon!
Ps. I am also 20 :) and have also had the good fortune of being raised by someone who loves the classics. Peice.
This didn't make it into Rolling Stone's Top 500 Albums of All Time, but two Def Leppard albums did??? One of the greatest guitar solos ever! Truly overlooked band this side of the pond.
A classic late-60s song by an a-w-e-s-o-m-e late 60's (and forward) band! I could dedicate this to a lot of different folks but am sending it out to just one tonight.
I saw these guys in the cafeteria @ Mesa Junior College (aka Mesa State) during freshman year. They were loud, as was to be expected, and fucking incredible!
They remain one of my favorite bands and I'd go to see them tomorrow, if they were in town.
Enjoy..............and turn this m**therfu**er WAY UP!
@merkie53 The only reason I heard about them in the 70's is that I was in the Navy and where I was stationed we had people from all over the country. The result was we heard a lot of music from all over. Someone I was stationed with had this album. Excellent stuff.
@Neurotripsicks FEAR NOT, YE OLDE PEOPLE. (Jokes, of course) There are those of us who still listen to this music. Thanks to the internet, and mostly youtube, we do not need modern bands to attempt to create such great music. It is more than likely they'd probably fail to create even a fraction of what bands like this created anyway.
Definitely one of the most underated, semi-unknown albums of all times.
Many years ago I entered a local air-guitar competition at the urgings few drunken friends. Had a CD with me so I played a section of this song where the two guitars are singing to each other. Didn't win but was asked up back on stage for an encore performance since some many people had NEVER hear of Wishbone Ash, and they enjoyed me making a azz of myself. Must of shown 20 people the the CD cover...all just amazed!

Saw them back in the early 70's in Germany at one of the big all-day rock shows they used to have there. This bill also had Caravan and Climax Blues and others and probably cost all of 10-15$. Wishbone Ash closed the show just as the sun was setting - I still remember it to this day..
how come this wasn;t on classic albums it;s on a par with rumours, dark side , hotel california , . yellow brick road . etc quo;s pildriver annall under rated classic
I saw Ash in Memphis in 71/72. ELO was supposed to be the headliner, but they (thank God) didn't show. Wishbone Ash played a full double set, and to this day that is the BEST SHOW I have ever seen. Un-freaking-believeable. Every time I think about that, after all this time, I smile.
@southernboy767 Saw 'em back in 71/72 also at a big outdoor festival in Houston, TX. Savoy Brown was billed (Wishbone Ash & Savoy Brown were both "back-up bands) ...heheheh about 17:00 Wishbone Ash came out and stated that Savoy Brown said, "They would never play on the same stage as them (Wishbone Ash)". I really, really was looking forward to seeing Savoy Brown (unlike your ELO EXP). These guys played their heart out that evening. Great, great band! Keep on smilin'!
They played last night at the 39th reunion of a rock festival they played at in 1971. Most of the people at the original festival remembered little except for how incredible Wishbone Ash was.
Andy was very reminiscent last night, talked about the original festival, and probably would have played all night if Eric Burdon weren't coming on next. A cool guy and highly underrated band.
Saw them live twice...once last year...and then again in March. Still great today. Most of my friends haven't heard of Wishbone Ash. It's a shame. I'm happy my parents have exposed me to this. I <3 Wishbone Ash.
went to see them live at Liverpool Empire sometime in the 70s, just a kid, but even then could appreciate how talented this band was - still sounds as good now!
Time was by Wishebone ash is one of my all time favourites. Simply incredebly great: The soft start with guitar - great, gorgeous, than the more heavier part with the genial vocals. This song belongs to the best ever written and performed.

I am 18 and I feel as if argus was written from my soul. Wishbone Ash is my favorite band of all time. beautifully flowin thru organic soundscapes. such an.... an honest sweet sound! how were these guys not much much bigger? im just so glad i found them. this album has got to be up there with the all time greats! it plays with a storybook flow. vocal harmonies to rival CSN and Y... guitar harmonies that out allman the alman brothers. awesome, goosebumps as i write this. Aloha.
I always play this when I go camping. I'm 20, but I was lucky enough to get raised on the classics; there's nothing better than kicking back, grabbing a beer, and getting lost in some Wishbone Ash, Jethro Tull, ELO, etc
A long, long, time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I had this LP. I wore it out! Thx for posting this! My favorite..."Blowin' Free". Yeah, Wishbone Ash kicked ass!
My old guitar teacher in barnsley taught me song after song of Wishbone Ash. Have to be honest I didn't get it at the time. It wasn't until I heard this album a few years ago that I appreciated them, fucking blew me away.
Martin still has the fire in his eyes for Argus, went to see them in October 2008, thirty five years after seeing them at Sheffield City Hall in 1973. Still in my top ten albums after all that time. Superb mood music! Second Album I ever bought, still have the Vinyl..... yeeee haaaa !
Every time I hear the album I feel 15 years younger, life feels better, optomism abounds. Friends tried to say Wishbone 4 was better .... yeh right !
One of the top 5 albums of all time, it will live forever! Beautiful music from a beautiful band. And they said the 70's had no style! It was THE DECADE!
With a great deal of reflection. 1973/4 the best years of my life. To truly share something so special, with this album in the background, amoungst others. Be honest with yourself. some of you know what I mean!

the way they could take a soft sweet ballad and turn it into a kick ass song was fantastastic. both in studio and live.

Time was when there were things around
To be afraid of.
Time was when there was no need to stop
And rearrange it.
Now I've got a memory
And I don't want to change it
