  • This is actually the Harry voice, not Paul.

  • i remeber driving to my aunts house during a rainstorm and hearing "Turn Around... Don't Drown" :P

  • Oh my! I love NOAA all hazards so much. There's so much awesomeness tucked away if you listen to it as much as I do.

  • This makes me want to cry because the voice is so extremely creepy

  • Rofl!!! I made it

  • I MADE IT!!!!

  • LOL at the end: "I MADE IT"

  • Lol. "I made It."

  • Where can I get one of those The DECtalk DTC01 ??

  • I MADE IT!

  • This is my favorite NOAA voice. Thanks for posting! The vocal inflections it uses are so amusing to me. I'm from the Chicago area and of the handful of NOAA frequencies I pick up here, they're all funny. The pronunciations they use for local counties are hilarious. DuPage county it pronounces "due-pidge" due to the way the text to speech software interprets it.

  • @DOSEmulation Well, imagine how much trouble he had with names of places in Hawaii. I was told by a co-worker of mine a few years back how they have to spell the names out phonetically so Paul can get it acceptably right.

    True story.

  • What software did you use to make this?

  • @gatrwrks The audio was recorded directly from a VHF-FM receiver using Linux-based software I wrote myself. It was encoded into MP3 format using LAME software, then merged with the NOAA graphic to produce a .avi file using "mencoder" (which is part of "mplayer"), and then uploaded to YouTube.

  • I made It!

  • Wats so wierd? he just gave a phone nimber and the time in military time?

  • he drinks rams piss

  • yah das ist good.

  • um do they expect people to be able to follow all those numbers at 0:34?

  • @TotalSlipknotMaggot yeah, its 978-281-9315.

  • haha...i MADE it!

  • Was this a hack?

  • No, it is a recording of an actual over-the-air broadcast that took place on Thanksgiving 2007. It was so out of character, I just had to record it.

Being that it took place on a holiday, I doubt that many people were listening, making it the perfect time for the meteorologists to get a little "funny". :-)

  • Cool discovery! Too bad the Perfect Paul voice is becoming more and more rare these days.

  • Download paul, Lookup Dectalk on the website gwmicro, You can download it there.

  • I think this is saying that no ship(coming from the US into Canada territory) should be in that part of the water or will be allowed into that part of the water after 11 PM on November 30th, 2007

  • I say again, the ILS 31right is out of service, expect visual approach, question of the day pluto, planet or not you make the call, numerous cranes operating in and around kennedy airport...

  • HaHa, a joke by whoever was typing the information into the computer at the NWS office. This reminds me of an ATIS message at John F Kennedy airport in NY(as they use "perfect paul as well)

    It read:

Kennedy Airport Information Whiskey 1551 zulu wind 230 at niner visibility 10 your clouds at 5000 temperatature 6 dewpoint -6 altimiter 3050 approach and use visual approach runway 31right departing runway 31left noticies to airmen, ILS runway 31right out of service
