Wiw I;ve never been towed, do you HAVE to have a pay out winch? it didn't look kie it to me.If not what kind of line do you use and how may feet would work. I live in a coastal dessert and have a nice place to fly but would like some changing up a bit. please advise,
Of course we are using a payout winch.. Its mounted on the trailer..Think you need to do some research before trying this as towing has many associated dangers..
great video....what speed does the truck pull at???...seems like the truck was going pretty fast...do you have a quick release that you use and how does that work? why not just power paraglide up w/ a motor....
Towing speed is usually 40Kmph/25 mph . Of course we have a release which is common practice for towing... Why not use a motor??? Because we enjoy the freedom of freeflight..
I'm asking because it looks like flying terrain with very good potential, since my clubs flying is mostly based on towing... what is the length of "road", we use a 2,5 km long road...my personal record in towing is 765 m, that looked much higher and that is the reason of my couriosity :) great video though and the landscape too... keep up the good work, all the best...!
Very nice! I DID this (towing) for the first time today. It is a VERY different experience than running off a mountain! I imagine the thermals had some sharp edges?

You could but technically impossible due paragliding is actually illegal here there fore you would be violating airspace rules.

Sorry not towing or paraglidng at present as recovering from a major household accident (Fell down stairs)(Broken Femur).

We actually have cell phone coverage in this area so not a real problem.. Thermals almost everywhere but definitely more in the flats.

About 600 mtrs on that tow.. We have about 12 km's of track to use there.

About 600 mtrs (1800 feet) depending on wind conditions, usual is about 1000 ft.

we have about a 2.5 kms of runway too but im usually towed up to 800ms.
