Look on the NYTimes website, they explain how it's possible. She was almost 5, while children UNDER 4 are not held responsible. She was 87 or w/e, and the hit probably wasn't very hard even though it did "fracture" her hip. The kids probably didn't need to do that, but they are kids.. When it comes down to losing a race or hitting an old lady- when your four- which would you choose?
