  • I remember seeing Donny's face all over 16 & Tiger Beat Magazine competing for the hearts of young girls from David Cassidy.

  • Osmondmania!!

  • Such talent, even at 14 he could work the audience like the "old" pro that he was!

  • Is that a Justin Bieber hair cut??? O.K. I'll admit it I loved Donny Osmond then and still do!

  • @reneeinca No it's a Donny haircut. Wasn't he lovely!

  • @Joanw100 I'd say it was a Beatles haircut. :)

  • This video was taken from the 1971 summer tour when The Osmonds release their first "Live" album recorded at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles, California. As was "Go Away little Girl", "One Bad Apple", "Double Lovin", "Yo Yo" and "Sweet & Innocent".

  • @ginoSCV I was ten...I thought The Osmonds and especially Donny were singing to me personally, ahhhh.

  • Was so happy to see this song up and posted. Thanks!! Donny & his brothers were my idols from my teen years. Donny posters on the walls & ceiling and played their records until they wore out and had to go buy new ones. This song brought up so many memories of a time that was "Sweet and Innocent".

  • NOBODY ever made little girls scream the way Donny Osmond did!!!!I am 46 now and still love DONNY!!!

  • the difference between donny and justin

donny had easily recognizable hit record material..beiber is stuck with very little hit power,,,,beiber is doing this thing practically on his own.

osmond in this period had it all going on and the brothers were the perfect talented compliment.

  • Heavens to Elvis!! The outfits....:D

  • ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! 1972? ;-)

  • a guilty pleasure

  • OMG!!!! Who taught poor Donny how to dance?!?!? That is the most uncomfortable gawd awful thing I have ever witnessed!!! He looks like he is having some sort of seizure!!! LOL

  • I just can't get over the screaming when he first starts singing...unbelievable!!

  • This song was a monster hit for the Osmonds. I loved it.

  • way better than justin biember

Never got to see him live, What a awesome experience that must have been for any gal. What a great role model and good reputation he has kept all these years!! We Love you Donn.

  • Oh the memories. I loved this song and all the songs the Osmonds sang. You know, I still have most all my posters and albums tucked safely away in the back of my closet. I'm 50 and my husband asked me once why do I want to keep that stuff and I told him because it's one of the sweetest and best memories of my childhood. The generation before us had Elvis (who I liked too) and the Beatles; we had Donny and the Osmonds.

  • Ok im 15 years ald right now but i listened to this music cuz my dad always like it ..I love Donny Osmond he was so cute

  • My first crush! Oh I how I was so 'in love'!

  • I had a boyfriend that looked like Donny Osmond. Darn we were both sweet and innocent at that time.

  • @Hermione4 lol know how you feel when he starts singing and dancing around still get the chills.

  • Too young for this kid? What was she? A fetus?

  • te amo donny *-*

  • The girl I loved in 5th grade in 1974 loved Donny Osmond

  • Justin Beiber got nothin on Donny Osmond. Plus back then they had a real band. No computers playing the music, no auto-tune and no "rent a homie" rapping over everybodys songs stinking up the joint!

  • 5 elvis's in vegas

  • Love It !!!!

  • I used to be sweet and innocent back in the day..LOL

  • This was the first Donny Osmond song I ever heard. I was riding in the car with my grandmother, and I was in love with the song and the voice.

  • I just ABSOLUTLY LOVE this video! ahhhh the memories. I always come back to this video thanks again bunches for posting it!!!!!

  • Oh Donny, why did you have to grow up?

  • Oh Donny, why did you have to grow up? Why couldn't you have stayed at this age?

  • I STILL love Donny!

  • I first heard this song when I was in the Fourth Grade! My girlfriends and a couple boyfriends were listening to it on a 45 record in a garage after swimming in their in ground pool in the seventies! I was sooooo IN LOVE WITH DONNY OSMOND TOO! We were ALL SO SWEET AND INNOCENT THEN! Rebecca

  • OMG...I'm just remembering how "in love" i was w/Donny. Saw the Osmond's in ATL in '71 or was it '72?!

They were all that AND a bag of chips...before rock and roll took over again.

  • Is this from the LIVE Osmonds DVD 1972? Where is it available? Or the Ohio State Fair performances ?

  • This is from the Osmonds Live record. You can find this in the Osmonds Crazy Horses DVD.

  • I loved this song from the first time I heard it. I picked up on it short time later and put it in my record collection. This is a live concert, but it definetly reminds me of the original that was played on top 40 radio. I do enjoy the video that goes along with the song but otherwise I would prefer the original top 40 classic, if it was just for the listening. Thankyou for posting.

  • I turned 23 in 1970.I guess Marie Osmond was too sweet and innocent for me.

  • She was only 10 in 1970.

  • @GGE47 I like the Osmonds ,but when we got arrested for crossing the boarder to see them in concert. I am just glad to watch them on my computer. It is safer, Besides I really think they are all so talented and grew up quite well. I am no longer sweet and Innocent.

  • Mi amor platonico de toda la vida! i love

  • @Evexin1 estoy de acuerdo, me encantaba desde que yo tenia 11 años

  • I have the double LP of this concert. LOVE seeing the actual footage. No question no how much the Osmonds were loved and adored...still are. God Bless The Osmonds and their fans; Happy 2010

  • OMG I was SO one of those girls--in my scooter skirt and braces at Cobo Arena in Detroit on this tour. i LOVED them!!

  • Congrats Donny on Winning "Dancing With The Stars" :-) woohoo!!!!

  • DONNY OSMOND IS A WINNER!!

  • Will Donny be the king of Dancing With The Stars? Only a few hours til we find out!!

  • I LOVE DONNY SO MUCH!!! Everyone makes fun of me because I'm only 13 and he is gonna be 52 and my friends call him old. He isn't he is BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • I have a "Sweet and Innocent" story to share with you. I was 10 years old in 1971. Back then, my pals & I used to sing this song by the pool outside our apartment building. The girls loved that. One of them was named June; A shy, pretty 12 year old brunette. So, our mothers got tickets for her and I to see the Osmonds concert. My first date! LOL

It was EXACTLY like this video. A big

football stadium, full of screaming girls!

It was amazing! June squeezed my hand SO tight when they sang

  • Seeing this was like going back in time to 1971-72. SO LADIES...I'll share a "Sweet and Innocent" story with YOU! I was 10 in 1971. There was a British girl named June who lived in my building. She was 11 or 12, and was really shy and pretty. One day, out by the pool, my pals and I sang this song, and the girls went nuts! Later, both our mom's got us tickets to see the Osmond's at CNE stadium in Toronto. It was my first concert & first date! The girls screamed. June held my hand so tight!

  • Rockin down in Elviss' clothes!!! :)

    lotsa memories here!

  • When life was so simple,I always loved to hear these guys sing.

  • come on everybody...let dance..enjoy!..hahahaha...........

  • I was into heavier music back then but I never told anyone how much I liked this song.

  • donny was my 1st love (in my dreams) osmonds and jacksons the forerunners of todays boy bands, oldies the best! r.i.p micheal

  • I just realized how Donny got the "Osmond slump" he mentioned in the first episode of dwts-- its from years of singing down to the audience and leaning over to give kisses. lol. love ya don!

  • @cherry32959 wt u mean a hunched back? ouch :S

  • This takes a lot of us back to our childhoods. Donny was an adorable little guy.

  • i was in the 6th grade Carson Elementary School 1971 , all the girls in my class were in love with Donny...this was a very hot song back then for us pre-teens.

  • i was in the 6th grade, Carson Elementary School when this came out....all the girls in my class were in love with Donny Osmond...this was a very hot song for us pre-teens !!

  • COMPRO ESTE VIDEO, I BYE THIS VIDEO

  • Donny you were quite the dancer back then. We should have known that eventually "Dancing With The Stars" would be in your future as well. Yeah Baby!

  • You know what's funny- -he mentions his posture and the Osmond "slump" in the 1st depisode of dwts I just realized how he got it from watching his videos--he was always flirting with the audience and bending over to give kisses. Lots of years of that will do it. love ya don!!

  • oh my gosh he was and he is still very sexy

  • Donny is still the cutest boy ever.

  • AWESOME!!!! Wow he sure was cute when he was a kid!!!!!!PUTS ON A GOOD SHOW!!

  • I remember the posters plastered all over my wall , He was my first love , I could'nt get enough of him>>> great memories brings me back ...

  • this is effin' awesome, dude! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • Look up "White and nerdy take 1". donny is hilarious

  • I still have the album from this concert tour. My twin sister was a rebel rock music fan, I was Osmond music all the way. One bedroom had 'Sweet And Innocent' blaring out of it, the other 'Smokin' In The Boys' Room' - at the same time. My poor parents.....we all survived it though. At least my sister and I live in different houses now so we don't have to worry about blended music anymore, lol. I've seen Donny in concert about 10 times as an adult and he still is an awesome performer.

  • beautiful story......thanxz for sharing !!

  • I loved Donny when I was a young girl...

  • There is NO ONE out there today who is like Donny Osmond! No Jonas Bros, no one! Donny rocks!! (and still does!!)

  • @PolishMermaid527

Jonas brothers won't make it neither well Justin B they just don't have it

  • @PolishMermaid527 AMEN !!!

  • Donny Osmond is so sweet in this video! (He look like a doll)Why did he has a feminine voice?

  • He was only 14. His voice was just starting to change.

  • @flowerchild1260 he was 13 here not 14, btw :)

  • he was younger than 14 he was more like 13 and his voise hadnt changed yet it was lower when he talked

  • OMG This was my FAVORITE!!!!!! And it still makes me cry... ♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • is there anything cooler on this planet than little donny? i think not

  • i didnt mean to thumbs down it i meant to click the thunbs up cause i totally agree with you

  • they did fill them out good!!!!(the suits)

  • Can somebody explain the Elvis suits? Totally bizarre.

  • Believe it or not, it was Elvis who suggested they where the same kind of suits. They used Elvis's designer. Elvis was a fan of the family and he use to call their mother often because she reminded him of his mother who had already passed. The family performed in Vegas same time Elvis did. They were close friends.

  • I meant "wear" not where lol!!

  • Their mothers did look alike! I never had thought of that. But they were cool for the time. Nothing bizzarre about the suits.

  • love the little wiggle in his walk!!!

  • one of my fav Donny osmond songs.First song I ever bought loved him then, love him now!! thanks for posting.

  • This is WHY I fell in LOVE with Donny when I was a teenager and had posters up on my wall!

  • GO DONNY!

  • GO DONNY!

  • Man-O-Man....Still lovin' this at 48.

  • dance come on...

  • When I see this old clip, instead of feeling like I'm a 50-year old woman, I still feel like the 11-year old girl with a mad crush on Donny. All of a sudden it's 1970 again. Amazing how we can go back in time and feel as if we're right back there again!!!

  • Me too.

  • I also recall this music, when i was little my dad played it in the car, im so glad i found it,but it makes me remember memories and i cant deal with it because i just realized how much i miss being a kid, and now 16 year its over..How do you cope with it?

  • Me too kid.

  • Is it wrong to be 45 years old and still melt watching a young Donny perform and take command of the stage? I feel like a teenager again! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DONNY!

  • If it's wrong, then I'm right there with you! Seeing this takes me right back!

  • Even now Donny Osmond is good lookin.

  • does anyone know where to get dvds of the young osmonds in concert, great video !

  • omg one of my fave donny songs! i love him so much! :)

  • wow i was 9 in 70 and forgot all about this one it was huge too

  • This is when America was America

  • The Jonas Brothers have nothing on these fans.

  • Young Donny O was the Man !

  • かっこいい

  • At my age if the lady is Sweet & Innocent she is way to young for me.

    Great song.

  • Donny is the coolest. The "O" Family Too.

    = Bless God = Sow Song Seed 2009 !

    Psalms 33 - JC 33 - 33.3 RPM - 1/3 x 3 = AMEN?

  • You got that right!

  • It's amazing that a kid who seemed so at ease on stage would develop "anxiety" problems in his 20 and 30's about performing....He was seems to love the crowds.

  • Some of his dance moves here look like some I've seen at powwows.

  • Cherry: LOL...give the kid some credit. He has to sing LIVE and dance a little (most boybands completely lipsynch now). He can't do a full dance routine or he'll get to winded. Donny was probably the best dancer of the group. And geez...he's only like 13 or 14 here? He's doing pretty well...LOL.

  • the dance is almost like he is doing the first air guitar move. cute cute.

  • I tried to do the dance that Donny does in this video and got all dizzy. Great song by Donny and the Osmonds though

  • Great song by Donny and the Osmonds

  • I was trying to dance like Donny is this video and got all dizzy! Great song though!

  • I still have my ticket stub for The Osmonds' August 13, 1972 concert, Garrett Coliseum , Montgomery,AL . I had a blast, I just went to watch the girls but became a Osmond fan an I still am.

  • I saw the Osmonds twice in concert in Allentown, PA. I was in love with Donny, my bedroom was purple and I still remember his favorite sandwich was peanutbutter, with bananas, or something like that. His b-day is 12/9/57. I lost ALL my Osmond albums years ago when our basement flooded.

  • Love this song!!!! Oh and Donny of course!!

  • THANK YOU for posting this! Ahh, the memories...I still remembered EVERY word! Does ANYONE know how old Donny was when this video was made? He is STILL my all-time favorite (and the rest of the family also)...Forever Sweet and Innocent...

  • This was from 1972.

  • Thanks for posting! What great memories.

  • My first album ever and my first love ever!!!! What a cutie he was! And he aged very well by the way!

  • Fantastic... this is my favourite song.. ever.. ahh the memories!!

  • My sis used to watch them on AndyWilliams and when they struck out on their own, she dragged me to see them at the Spectrum in Philly in 1972. I was 13. I'd liked this song, but when Donny did it LIVE, TWANG!!.. I was hooked from then on.

  • He was very cute. I had all of his records, I also had all the Sweet Sixteen pictures on my wall, drove my mom nuts, the tape pulled off the wallpaper! :)

  • I truly am brought back to my childhood. Donny was the first poster I ever had on my wall. Every Hit Parade and Tiger Beat edition was in my room!!! Such great memories... Thx for posting....

  • Ron Hinde, We are both innocent and sweet true hearts meant to be with each other, no doubt that you are for me! I never thought I would be so lucky to find a man at 40 that can love me just as I am. And I am lucky for me even though we are older, we are wiser and still young and sweet. Thank you for being my man. Your wife Heather

  • Oh God how Donny was my first major crush-ola. All I can say is there isn't much good music today. most of it is such trash, but listening to music I grew up with my dad's old 45's and albums I have to say that my favorite musice is yesteryear music, not the crap that's being played now. ugh.

  • i love you donny and marie and all the osmonds love sandy pittsburgh, pa

  • Donny's puttin' some powwow moves in his dance!

  • yeah....he's gettin' down pow-pow style for sure !!

  • I feel so old looking at this. I have not heard this song in over 30 years.

  • Have to love those Elvis suits.

  • wonder how old Donny was here? His voice isn't that high here.

  • Well, judging by his hair cut and the roundness of his face and being the Donny-nerd that I am I would say he was 13 going 14 in this clip. His first song after his voice broke was 12th of Never. This I reckon is b4 the came to the UK in 72 (he 14/15) then, OH good grief I could take an exam in Osmondology.....I'll shut up. LOL

    Sorry Gailxx

  • hahaha, I so much hear ya !!!!

    Me too !!

  • Oh my gosh, I gotta talk to you!! You know your Osmond trivia! I think Donny was younger than 13 in this video, but we need to figure it out. I just posted a question asking if anyone knew for sure how old he was here...and yes, you are correct, his first song after his voice broke WAS the 12th of Never, and his voice was still GREAT, and still is GREAT and I do believe I am still in love with him at age 47...looking forward to a reply from you...

  • This is from their Osmond "Live" lp and that came out in 1972 so Donny was 14 years old here.
