I repeat again. Silent Hill the game was created in 1999. This movie.."Jacobs Ladder "was filmed in late 1989 and released in 1990. The Silent Hill games blow and so do the Silent Hill films. Despite what the creators of the Silent hill films say there movies are Rip offs of this film, which was done almost two decades earlier, before the goddamn game.

The Silent Hill games didn't rip off the movie, they were inspired by it. 2. 1999 is not even one decade after the film, let alone two, and 3. how old are you and what games do you like? I'm guessing mainstream games like Halo (generic shitty space shooter with atrocious graphics for the time and a nonsensical redundant plot) or any kind of first person shooter that doesn't require intelligence or an appreciation of art. These games--at least the first three, which I have played--are superb examples of psychological horror. They obviously owe a great debt to Jacob's Ladder, particularly the profoundly disturbing hospital scene, but that doesn't mean they're crappy knock-offs of the the film. They're paying TRIBUTE to it.

It's just showing how Silent Hill took some scenes from Jacob's Ladder, and used them in the game. Bergen Street is actually in the town of Silent Hill as well. It's neat to find these "coincidences".

The quote itself only works for part 1of Silent Hill. Then it's arguable (but substantial) for part 2. And not even close to logical for part 3. But the visual style of the 'Hospital' scene in Jacob's ladder hits it's peak at part 3 so it seems almost like a trade off. =)

It's because movies like Jacob's Ladder were the inspiration for Silent Hill. Things like the street name being the same, are tributes to where they were inspired to create their masterpiece from.

Silent Hill 2 is way worse than SH3. It has a lot better story, but is too easy, at some point boring. And SH2 isn't as scary as SH3!

Yeah, Sh3 was pretty scary and when I first played I didn't get the picture because I didn't know of the alternative endings of SH 1, I've got the bad ending when harry dies. The silent team made a very god connection with SH3, but SH 2 was a true masterpiece in every way.

Story wise yes. I think they contrast in that the linear gameplay of 2 was more story based and the gameplay in 3 was more survival/fighting based. Heather was fighting till the end to get answers where as James was meandering and solving puzzles to get answers.
