  • Damn, that is funny!

I am of the opinion that the whole overhopping movement is really a way to cover up mediocre brewing. Ales, being the economic mainstay of small to mid sized breweries, have been overdone and saturated. There is really no where else to go. I guess we can safely say that "IPA's ARE THE MERLOT OF THE BEER WORLD!"

Thank God Lambic styles are becoming more popular among homebrewers, which ultimately will trickle down to commercial brewers.

  • I dont bellve it

  • This is pretty hilarious and love it when brewers make fun of the insanity some breweries have taken when it comes to this hop-centric approach to beers. I'm still boycotting Gordon Biersch though.

  • hahaha. this makes me laugh

  • @ajaarg Relax and have a homebrew man. If you can't then just shut the hell up.

  • ajaarg - what in the hell are you on about? Make some sense, please. The BN has had Dan on three times, why would they "underrate" his beer? I'm thinking those posts were you holding up a mirror.

  • OH, and I also want to add, GB makes good beer for reasonable prices and have great brewpubs. Sorry if you think that humanity's most social beverage should best be enjoyed by overweight manchildren sitting alone in their boxers, sipping a $15 sour beer out of a wine glass and furiously typing into their online beer journals about the sticky belgian lace (which remind them of the wives who hate them and the hookers they only wish they had the courage to patronize).

    (that's you, rage sack!)

  • @ajaarg ha i bet this is JP

  • Oh, I want to be clear, however: Dan Gordon is not wrong here. But the complete awkwardness of the whole video and the emotionless host is just Vintage BN.

BN beer snobs will chuckle and then continue to drink their overhopped booze bombs and their overpriced belgians that taste like sweaty gym socks, because they have gutter palates. Gordon Biersch will continue to make good beer, underrated by the "BN army" and the Beer Advocate circlejerkers.

  • @ajaarg Jesus man I came on here to watch a beer video and instead I find a bunch of the joy luck club bleeding from their sandy vaginas together...Everybody just chill out it's only beer.

  • This is like the onion for autistics.

BN generally is an exaggerated forum for overcompensating heteronormative beta males with low-functioning asperger's though. Just look at the hand grenade hop logo, or the "BN army" dogtags. What in the hell hand grenades and militarism have to do with homebrewing is beyond me, other than "these are things that white male libertarian engineers unironically worship"

  • Awesomeness. Good to see satire is alive and well.

  • I'm new to brewing. Is this available in an extract kit? What's the best way the carbonate the bottles?

  • I've only been able to make it to GB once, in Chicago, and they had a Dark Czech Lager there as the seasonal. Delicious.

The film is kind of funny, but Dan doesn't like IPAs, or Belgians, so it does make it kinda funny. Kinda.

  • I would like to request this for Can You Brew It? Probably a good one for Tasty to take on.

  • But it does'n't follow BJCP guidelines!

  • Nicely done guys!

  • I predict that the Hoppotamus Maximus is so exclusive that Gordon soon will be forced to put that beer in a cold war bunker some undisclosed place in the desert so that most hardcore RateBeerians will not try to mug him and steal it to get such a super exclusive extreme hoppy beer rating...

  • funny stuff guys.

  • Hilarious! Ha! LOL! Great Job.

That's Ok Dan... Boring Lagers are OK too.....

I won't drink them, but to each their own.

I love crazy wood aged Pedio/ Lacto/ Brett ales myself.
