just got an iphone 4 and the compass has not extra features within the maps app as far as i can see (over the 3G) its not doing the rotating thing you are doing

to use google maps you have to be connected on wi-fi ? or a network ? or internet ? or you must pay for this service on your AT&T provider ?! please let me know , I want to know if Iphone 3Gs have GPS reciver google maps and works without to pay something or to connect on internet, thanks , You know just like Samsung Omnia or others cell phone from Nokia

You dont have to be connected to wifi, you use your 3g connection. and you pay per mb you download when u use google maps. So when you buy your iphone from a provider buy with free data, and you dont have to worry about that.
