i got one on monday as a gift . the cartridge was screwd . teusday i googled " dictaphone restoration " found a place in oregon that resores dictaphiones for movie props. i called the number on the web and they had the 150 second tape . friday ( last evening ) it came in the mail . i snipped and trimmed .. popped it in and "NEENEEER NEENERR NEENEEER " i got me some true assed reall assed tape delay ... beautiful .. nothing goes with a bongload like analog delay .
Thanks! These are somewhat hard to find, especially in the great condition mine came in. I may have discovered another fix for the worn magnetic tape on the platter ... next time I get back into this unit I will have to measure the platter diameter but I may be able to use an 8 in or 5 1/4 in floppy disc as a replacement. I have some 5 1/4s around so these may work ... just cut them out of the sleeve and spray adhesive (3M) and glue onto the top of the platter. Just a thought.
Hi ... thanks for visiting ... not being a qualified tech I could not say for sure as far as repairs. The tape is the big issue. My thoughts would be if the tape ever wore out to buy a reel of 2" studio take, remove the platter, clean the old tape off, spray 3M adhesive on, apply strips of the 2" tape to the platter at angles butting the tape closely, than trim and reinstall. Price for this one was $300 ... very, very cool vibe. Thanks again!

@PHAEDRIDER I agree and the best analog delay is still tape delay IMHO.
