Why are Hyperactivity and Impulsive put together there both so different. Inattentive - Impulsive have more in common due to both being about the task. Where as Hyperactivity is just pure fun energy that is a good. On my meds I can still be hyperactive but on task sometimes that task is to use up this energy the normal’s don't have in exercise. Use your energy don't let normals make you think otherwise!
These guys are not honest. In every single video they are pushing their products Attend... when I asked them if there were scientific studies that show that their products work I got no replies and my comment was not permitted to be on their account page. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS UNTIL THEY CAN DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY WORK.
@LlednarJediMaster69 I was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD in the 10th grade and now, looking back in retrospect, I wish I would have been medicated much sooner rather than later. My personal perspective as far as how I feel while not medicated is; sluggish, unfocused, careless, complacent, unorganized and there really isn't much going on in my mind other than that which might give immediate stimulation such as video games or action movies. On my meds I become alert, excited and want to learn.
This video was really helpful for my son who was just diagnosed with adhd. I got to ask a teacher questions to help my son with school: mommyalertadhd(dot)com

What are the neotransmitters doing to make them hyper that they are not doing in a DREAMY PASSIVE inattentive kid. PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE I CANT FIND AN ANSWER.
I'm interested in how long the sitting in a cramped classroom era has lasted and when it started
to me running around talking about stuff is easily possible, I don't have to worry about doing one or the other, but I can do two things or three things at once no problem, thinking, learning, and doing something specific
I'm clinically diagnosed ADHD, and I found out because I worked my ass off only to get a 1.7 GPA. I didn't understand why I couldn't get anything done when doing homework for hours each night. I started a NON stimulant ADHD drug the next year I went from a 1.7GPA to a 3.6 GPA I'm now working hard for a 4.0GPA. Please don't make assumptions when you don't understand ADHD. It doesn't medicate the problem away, it helps control the hyperactivity in order to use the ADHD as a learning tool.
I was in the same boat as you, pretty much. Through my school experience I found it difficult to focus. My teachers were pushing Ritalin on me but I refused to take it.
I don't think the problem was me. I think that my mind filtered out their lessons because they were boring and a waste of my time.
If I'm truly excited about something and want to learn about it then I can learn it very quickly, faster than most people.
If there's something that I have no interest in, but teachers are trying to drill the lesson into me, I think it's normal for a mind to wander and reject their lessons.
I hate public school because of how they 'teach'.
I agree completely, I'm tired of having their political agenda shoved down my throat, Ritalin is awful stuff and can jack you pretty bad. I prefer Srattera because it helps me focus and sleep. But sorry I lashed out at you, I tend to do that because I hate it when people crap on me for being ADHD... so it came out!!!
Anyway, I think if you just medicate the problem while continuing what created the problem in the first place you won't solve anything at all. You'll just patch it up temporarily.
Oh by the way, the medicine helps me "hyper focus" which means I can use my ADHD to solve problems faster and work harder than you or the average person. Which makes me laugh when people make fun of ADHD, they don't understand that ADHD people are more effecient if they're taught to use it properly. Einstien, Mozart. and Thomas Jefferson were thougH to be ADHD, they are some of the most respected people in history.

I'm more interested in finding the reason why so many of our children are 'ADHD' than medicating the "problem" away.

@Tolkien1491: I agree. I have ADD myself, and despite my above average IQ, I was only able to obtain a GPA of maybe 2.5.
