The only battle ship I like is the nightmare. If you use 3 target painters on it you can even pump an interceptor's signature radius to about 400 eliminating accuracy loss from the target's small size. Use 3 tracking computers to give your large pulse lasers tracking equal to even the fastest of medium guns all but eliminating accuracy loss from target speed. Use the right faction ammo so that your optimal is 20 km out eliminating the range factor in your accuracy for that distance.
That Apoc at the beginning might have been an early incarnation of the Paladin. Judging by the colour it's Khanid - looks like they toyed with the idea of an Amarr missile battleship O.o
Definitley worth playing, it's an amazing MMO, very overwhelming at first though, so make sure you give it a fair shot not just "I don't know how to load my guns so this game sucks and I'm never playing it again". Very good though if you can understand it and take it a bit at a time.
You obviously haven't read enough into the story. ALL capsuleer ships actually still have crews, just in significantly fewer numbers (skeleton crews) than normally captained ships.
lol yea, what Baleur said. EVE came out in 2003 and had a ton of ships added with Revelations II (one of the expansions) which came out long before Sins was released. I bet quite a few of the artists and game designers for Sins of a Solar Empire play EVE.

WoW is not for carebears btw... it's a completely different game that offers a lot more versatility... it has noobs and hardcore players, assholes and good people. Just like any other game.
actually EvE has a huge egocentric playerbase since the way the game is designed to be very harsh. Full of dicks in that game. Good game though....very time consuming. it kinda crosses the line some times. You need to rememebr you are paying 15$ a month for entertainment..not to work a second job.

of all the ships here, rattlesnake is probably the best. Its a little weak but with strong ecm and cruise missile capabilities, it can jam and take anything down from over 150km away. Its my dream ship ... too bad I dont play Caladari.

T2 battleships? Depends on your definition of "T2". If T2 for you is the second ship of a class, than for gallente for example it'd be a Megathron, if T2 means to you "Upgraded" than it'S be a Kronos, a Marrouder class upgraded Megathron
Right, lets defend myself (especially from chiles4 - what a douche). Way back, you used to be able to trick the client into displaying different models for the ships. It was discovered that a patch had added 8 new battleship models/skins with names like "Brutor Tempest" and what-not to the client, and using this hack I was able to display them in the EVE client.
In the item database were the premininary stats for the T2 battleships, which also had names like "Brutor Tempest", etc (cont...)
Putting 2+2 together and you could see how at the time these were the matching models for those items (again, we're talking years ago). In the mean time we've had loads of new T2 ships introduced, and 2 roles finally settled on for T2 battleships, along with what seems to be new art assets created for all of them.
So Mr Chiles, next time you want to call me a fraud get your damned facts straight. If you want to find them yourself, look in "resCOSMOS.stuff" under "res/model/ship/factionPC".
ok. let me tell you this. i have worked for ccp and there were no files containing footage of these ships. they were merely in design stage. they had been built and were merely in shadow creation. these ships were recreations of the old ones to make them look better. this guy is a fraud. sorry to say. plus you can get every single ship in the game you see. 45%of ships you do not have to make. eg the titans. and other major battlecruisers there are even 5 cruisers that you have to make.

My battleship name is "The Yamato", a memorial to the world's largest battleship ever built. It's been built, after a long time, to deal devestating damage with range. So, yeah. Close range is also devestating, but not as much.
btw, the yamato never faced actual battle it was much more of a symbol of power....which actually worked very well....basically to show what the japanese had and what they could use..more of a threat
actually it did it diverted large amounts of american ships to always be on alert in the case it actually came to battle so the american navy's power was always stretched
I'm working toward T2 ship production but it's much, much harder than T1 production. That's why they all cost around 5 times that of their T1 counterparts, at the very least.
I'm sorry but only one type of Tech II battleship is actaully called maruders. They're the special type that kick arse and don't ask questions. Black Ops is a Tech II battleship as well but its boosts inclue things more tackful like the Black ops jump drive systems or better resistances against Kinetic and Thermal. There's MANY differnt types of T2 ships... Exhumer, Heavy Assult Ship, Covert Ops, Recon, Command, Electronic Attack, just to name a few. :D
gallente looks terrible. just look at the heavy assault ship. you know, the one that looks like a wang? not to mention the exequror or whatever its called.
amarr ships on the other hand are good looking. i still prefer minmatar styles though. very industrialized, no-nonsense look.
Ah, no Raven... figures the best is left out, but that will make it all the better in trinity. T2 Raven will pwn, i hope. Actually I hope it doesn't pwn to bad as it will be the overused style of ship... even more, I want to be unique.
Marauders do more DPS that their T1 parts. The Kronos for example has effectly 9 or 10 Guns with 3 free slots (dont remember the calculations). Its also easy to jam a Kronos with one racial jammer due to its weak sensor strenght, thats how CCP tried to restrict them to mission running. Also CCP doesnt want to create HAC Battleships and thats a good decision
And tbh, Black Ops ships with more DPS than the T1 party would be uber.

there are no HAC battleships, they would be awesome, but, there arent any teir-3 tech 2s, and the tech 2 BS's dont have any DPS higher than standard battleships
These clips were taken when the EVE files were easy to manipulate and therefore make the ingame models of some ships appear like others. Some of these skins are being used for the new T2 ships until the new trinity engine comes out.
and i think the concord ships are just a dev messing with us... ppl would be to awesome with conocrd; it would defeat the point of concord being the ubergank squad

A lot of ships looked somewhat different in Trinity vs the original engine. Vargur doesn't have the blade-style radiator "sails" for example.
There's a model of "Elite Apocalypse Khanid" in game, you can see it in preview if you manually create a fitting XML for it. That one is black.

Putting 2+2 together and you could see how at the time these were the matching models for those items (again, we're talking years ago). In the mean time we've had loads of new T2 ships introduced, and 2 roles finally settled on for T2 battleships, along with what seems to be new art assets created for all of them.
So Mr Chiles, next time you want to call me a fraud get your damned facts straight. If you want to find them yourself, look in "resCOSMOS.stuff" under "res/model/ship/factionPC".

ok. let me tell you this. i have worked for ccp and there were no files containing footage of these ships. they were merely in design stage. they had been built and were merely in shadow creation. these ships were recreations of the old ones to make them look better. this guy is a fraud. sorry to say. plus you can get every single ship in the game you see. 45%of ships you do not have to make. eg the titans. and other major battlecruisers there are even 5 cruisers that you have to make.

jesus calm down i just posted the vid that i found over a year ago probably when ccp were pissing about with designs for the t2 ships before their release. sarmaul had this on eve files for a bit and i presume he managed to find this on test server.

actually it did it diverted large amounts of american ships to always be on alert in the case it actually came to battle so the american navy's power was always stretched

I'm working toward T2 ship production but it's much, much harder than T1 production. That's why they all cost around 5 times that of their T1 counterparts, at the very least.

I'm sorry but only one type of Tech II battleship is actaully called maruders. They're the special type that kick arse and don't ask questions. Black Ops is a Tech II battleship as well but its boosts inclue things more tackful like the Black ops jump drive systems or better resistances against Kinetic and Thermal. There's MANY differnt types of T2 ships... Exhumer, Heavy Assult Ship, Covert Ops, Recon, Command, Electronic Attack, just to name a few. :D

gallente looks terrible. just look at the heavy assault ship. you know, the one that looks like a wang? not to mention the exequror or whatever its called.
amarr ships on the other hand are good looking. i still prefer minmatar styles though. very industrialized, no-nonsense look.

Marauders do more DPS that their T1 parts. The Kronos for example has effectly 9 or 10 Guns with 3 free slots (dont remember the calculations). Its also easy to jam a Kronos with one racial jammer due to its weak sensor strenght, thats how CCP tried to restrict them to mission running. Also CCP doesnt want to create HAC Battleships and thats a good decision
And tbh, Black Ops ships with more DPS than the T1 party would be uber.

The T2 Apoc (Paladin) received a buff and is more usefull that before.
Some of the models shown in this vid are used for the T2 Battleships, but the others are simply faction battleships, like the Armageddon Imperial Issue shown in this video.

These clips were taken when the EVE files were easy to manipulate and therefore make the ingame models of some ships appear like others. Some of these skins are being used for the new T2 ships until the new trinity engine comes out.
