Sorry if this has already been asked, but what is the cost of filling both tanks up? I have no idea what the cost of jet fuel is these days. Just curious. Thanks!
This aircraft is certified single-pilot. One only needs a private-pilots certificate BUT, there is extensive training required to fly a turbo-prop and many hours logged to get insurance. Only SimCom or FlightSafety training, and a large bank roll, will get you what you need. The $1.5mm purchase price is only the beginning. It will burn over $200/hr in fuel, plus insurance and maintenance.
We all love this bird but, it is not for the feint of heart or pocket.
@10dthompson60 Well I'm sure it's not only the avionics. What most pilot owners probably look at first are the specs: the combination of 1) speed 2) range 3) payload & seating capacity. Like car shopping, there are many factors. The Meridien serves a market and is probably the best in it's class for what it is. Try to find another single engine plane that goes 260 kts and you'll see that the $1.5 million (or whatever the current asking price is) is actually at the low end of the spectrum.
I hate you right now... I just wanted to let you know that. If I was a multi-millionaire this is the only plane I would want to own. Beautiful plane; great video! (added to favorites)
@osamaarafat It's really necessary a special training when you buy a complex aircraft like Meridian. I think (by my ignorance) that if you come from another "complex" one like Mirage, or Bonanza, etc, you only need to know how to operate a jetprop, but nothing about flying itself.
We hope that the training comes included in the price of the aircraft, if not ... hehe, bad thing for the pocket =)
What a beautiful bird! What's the TAS of this plane in real conditions ? Lets say at a specific flight level and % power ?

Nice aircraft. Are you looking for a new best friend? I live in Az. Great flying out here.

It's beautiful! Cut off is as impressive as start up. I love when you see the blades' pitch angle changing from 3:04!

The left main tire looks a little low on pressure.
av8rdav 6 months ago
@av8rdav ... No it is not. Both mains were at 55psi and were checked before the flight. The just look that way.

@av8rdav Looks like the right one.

The PPL is enought for fly a Meridian? Or it weights more and it's needed the CPL?

This must have state-of-the-art equipment and/or be insanely easy to fly otherwise i don't see a single engine prop plane costing so much

@bg11215 Look at the TBM 850: 320 KTAS and range of 1,585 Nm. It also has de same price.
Mukubwas 4 months ago
@Mukubwas No. The TBM is approximately 1 million dollars more than the Mirage

Very nice landing!! Where did you do your initial training?
dynasty612 1 year ago
@dynasty612 I did my initial training with Travis Holland and then took the course at SimCom in Vero Beach.
BTW ... this was my first landing in the plane without any assistance from the instructor on board.

@osamaarafat can you fly it with only 1 flight crew?
