This is absolutely ridiculous. First of all if someone is too drunk stop serving them. Second of all how is a slow 10 count or at least 10 ozs of booze a weak drink? Giving someone hammered two shots of vodka and sending them out the door even worse is poor service.

I would never make a half drink or anything of the like. If someone is too drunk, then refuse them service. If someone wants a weak/no alcohol drink, then there should be some available such as shandy or a soft drink. This woman makes bartenders appear like we want to con our customers which is never the case. Shame on you.

Every bartender trained CORRECTLY knows that if someone's too drunk a bartender is supposed to NOT SERVE them. tell them nicely, but don't make them a 'less strong' drink.

I'm a bartender from the Uk and theres 2 problems with this

1.If the customer is drunk you refuse service

2.You cannot pour a half shot or measure (at least in the uk)

trading standards state each shot of 25ml or 50ml must be measured in a goverment stamped shot measurer

So not only as you serving someone who should be having water and a taxi home but your also charging them money for half a product.

I make it real simple I have tended bar for 15 yrs. Here is what I do to cut off a drunk. let's just saying he/she is drinking vodka &tonic. 1. I take a couple of straws put them in a tall glass and fill it 1/2 way w/ WELL ( cheap)vodka. 2. drunk customer comes to the bar. 3. Get a glass fill it to the top with ICE grab a high end vodka (pour with your back turned), and just cover the spout with your thumb so no booze comes out, (count to about 10 so it appears your pouring heavy.
