I also agree that India should opt for MiG-35, as it surely is a cutting edge advanced fighter than rest of its competitors. The American F-16 will be phased out from US forces by 2015. Although German's Eurofighter and Sweden's Gripen have promised full partnership and Transfer of Technology if India chooses them, but it would be wise to go for MiG 35 as India already has an existing infrastructure for production and servicing of MiGs. It does not need to develop new ones.
...ur saying russia will give us engine technology? maybe its radar technology? no wont happen.
plus...relying on just russia would be too restricting. also, looking at recent deals, whats to say russia wont hike the costs to 20 billion dollars...not worth it for such a crucial contract. some other industries maybe. not aviation at this juncture.
Why would India choose 30 years old F-16 and F-18 jets if MiG-35 is cutting edge in avionics industry.
+ We have offered Indians 50% stake in the development of 5th generation multirole fighter jet with MiG and Sukhoi+ permanent service and maintainece of MiG aircrafts.
India has allready have allot of MiG fighter jets in its arsenal, so it is wise if you choose the product from the same family and not some incompactiabile product like F-16 or F-18 !
i agree with that, i think f-16 is definitely out, the IAF might also want some of these aircraft to be carrier borne, f-18 and rafale are just that. but at the end, iaf just might want to stick with russian
If India choses 4,5+ gen. MiG-35 fighter jet, than all of MiG-35 cutting-edge avionis, technology and detail plans will be revealed to Indian aeronautic industry.
