Brushes for Gimp on mac

Um, when I try putting brushes into the brushes folder, it says it cannot be modified...? Help?

I have a problem, when i try to put the new brushes into the folder of "brushes" it sais that the folder is blocked so I can't put anithing on it.... what can I do?

Hey, nice vid. However, when i place all the files into the brushes folder and open up GIMP, there are no new brushes. I have tried refreshing the brushes. any idea whats up?

I've tried everything and don't know what is wrong.

There is a script out there that fixes that, check the site you downloaded gimp from.

whenever i trie to put the downloaded brushes into that folder, hes saying: (sorry im german, try'd 2 translat: The folder brushes cannot be changed or moved,

What do i do wrong??

i use a mac and have the 2.6 version of GIMP

Just o to Library / Application Support / Gimp / then create a new folder, name it brushes, then drag your brushes, restart gimp, VIOLA! there it is! hope this works for you!

Thanks, but I've got one big problem: when you go to the map of Gimp (that contents --> ... --> brushes) When I'm in the map brushes and I want to put all my downloaded brushes into that map, it says that the (brushes) map can't be changed.

(I'm so sorry for my horrible English, I'm Dutch...)

When I attempt to move the new brushes into the Gimp brushes it gives me a message saying "item "brushname.gbr" could not be moved because "brushes" cannot be modified.

This makes me sad. I want to play with my new brushes on my new Mac. :(

Know anything about this? I've looked through a few tutorials and either the Gimp they are using is different than mine or the it just doesn't make any sense. Yours makes sense but isn't working for me.
