You are absolutely right. Harry was the idol of so many wonderful trumpeters: Miles Davis, Red Rodney, Woody Shaw, or ... yours truly.
Harry James is like god for me. Armstrong is "only" trumpet player. That's my opinion

@greenstboy Outside Satchmo, Harry Sound was it in my opinion. So rich, powerful, nuanced and luscious.
He actually have alot of credit for his sound to Louis Armstrong, they both have that ridiculous huge core to their sound.
