its because most people in the west have a very narrow view of what is entertainment. most western people are not comfortable with someone who is not familiar to them and therefore, have to compare something they know and are comfortable with to something "foreign". Its all relative. I'm from the u.s and i love rain, yet i don't compare him to usher or justin timberlake cause he is different.
