kaoss Pad Entrancer Demo

Hi,

Can this be used in conjunction with a pc to create and record your own visuals to use in videos? I've been using vj loops to make my own youtube vids, but it would be nice to create my own in real time with the music !

Appreciate the vid as it gave me good reason to buy an Entrancer - they're hard to find and not cheap, but still have a usable role in video/VJ work.

If I find a second hand one is it worth the buy? I'm running Modul8 at the moment but want something without the computer. If I can't get my hands on one (which seems likely) can you do the same with a KP3? That can run video also I believe?

TBH it has the same layout as the korg kaoss pad 2 :( Its kinda like all the porsche's Because they dont change the look ..... they only change the power and nicknaks inside :(

would be pretty cool if it were a ridiculously complex fractal generator supercomputer where you could accentuate the variables of the factal equation with the x and y axes of the pad....

It can act as a Midi controller too. And if you hook it up to a computer running a fractal program you Can do exactly that. That's what I do and it looks freakin SWEET!

I just got a great deal on one of these. Bought a KPE - practically never used - from a professional studio for just over 200 euros. Can't wait for the thing to arrive!

you'll get up to half a second delay on a live feed into any computer.

sure you can do all this stuff on VJ software, but you couldn't 4 years ago when this unit came out, and you still can't do it instantly. pro video mixers with similar effects start in the tens of thousands. sure the quality is better, but for the price of a KPE its a bargain.

having said that, they have been discontinued since this demo was done, so you'll be lucky to find one.

the point being that to get a comparable rea-time effect any other way you are looking at spending around $20,000-$30,000

Dude, the effects actually look cool. The video loop that guy used is kinda lame imo he should have people so you can get a real idea of what its all about - remember it doesn't generate video just samples what you have coming in to it and lets you tweak it out.  I believe thats how it works anyhoo. peace
