  • agassi 90-2001 > nadal

  • Nadals gentics arer light years ahead of Andres , a far better athelete but Andre at his best could outhit any one off the baseline ,, go watch the shots he hit FO 91 just to see how hard he could really hit the ball in his prime.

  • @kinkabala he's hitting the ball harder here. He was obviously faster when he was younger but it's a different game now to what it was in 91. I think possibly a young sampras could compete in this era but none of the bassliners from that era could keep up to djokovic or nadal.

  • Andre..u r so so marvelous!!!

  • nadal ist der beste

  • is Agassi playing tennis in his boxers? lol look how long Nadals shorts are compared to Agassi.

  • Agassi's back was sore and he could not run down shots as he did in 1992. Glad Agassi played at age 36, so he could face Nadal. He respects Nadal's game the most, calling Nadal a "freak, a force of nature," able to cover the whole court .

  • noeone can see the ball.

  • ma dove finisce la palla?

  • how many times doe she say "impresionante"????????

  • EH!-Auh,Eh!,Auh!,Eh,Auh,Eh,Auh!

  • Oliver , he wasn't on drugs you idiot. He took crystal meth a couple of times and even that would inhibit his play. Most drugs fuck you up for sport. Steroids , growth hormones being the exception. Imagine playing Wimbledon on coke , dope , e or alcohol.........what a joke that would be.

  • Surely Agassi one of the best tennis player in the world but without drugs probably nothing but a mediocre. The true history I think in 90 % of all his matches he was influenced of

drugs and whit a ugly hairpiece

  • @Oliver007a That's total BS. If Andre did drugs after 1997, he would have been caught, because he was tested like the rest. Plus, meth impairs athletic performance. If he used it in the semi's, he could not have slept at all before the finals. Ever see people on drugs play sports? It's a joke -- drunk softball, stoned wiffleball. No way were recreational drugs an edge for Andre. He was in an unhappy marriage with Brooke, who gave him no sex, it seemed. She was too busy playing a slut on TV.

  • I must have read the title wrong, 'Rafa Vs Agassi Highlights' , All I am seeing is Rafa highlight featuring Agassi......

  • agassi was so agressive on the court

  • the sounds nadal makes. :P

  • ..agassi for ever...

  • Agassi best of all time? I can name at least 5 better than him, even more actually.

  • Andre is a clas act !

  • is there even a ball?

  • nadal is better than agassi's and sampra's prime

  • @thisislaser

yeah. rafa is not the best of all times . . . he is the best of all time only in slow courts ..

  • @deltok slow courts?? jajaja us open 2010 winner, australian open 2009 winner, slow courts?? 2008/10 2 wimbledons champs, and 2 finals?, are you drunk? 11 hard court titles with 24 years? and 8 finals???? only slow courts....you know nothing about tennis

  • @alexSOTG

and not . . you know about tennis !

If you reread what I said . . . RAFA IS A GREAT PLAYER IN ALL AROUND COURTS .

but he is only the best of all times in slow courts ok??? Look, now, the only fast courts is the last of season USO to london .. remember the changes of surface especially in grand slam: ao with rebound ace (fast) to plexicution (neutral speed) and winby (neutral)

AO to miami and Wimbledon is considered Neutral speed court today.

with the new changes of surface

  • @thisislaser

yeah. rafa is not the best of all times . . . he is the best of all time only in s

  • @thisislaser rafa is the most complete tenist player ever, couse he can win in all sourfaces

  • @alexSOTG You're almost right. It's a fact that Rafa never competed on fast grass his Wimbledon wins are on perennial rye grass. That's a form of slow grass with higher ball bounces. Roger also only won on that type.

  • @thisislaser

rafa won 2 great tournaments in fast courts (olympic gold and USO with deco speed turbo) but remember he had no rivals except the final . . Rafa is a great player but not nearly the best of the fast courts, even today .. we'll see how it does in Master cup London this year .

  • @deltok Sour grapes!!!

  • @deltok

not bad, he's won 3 rr this year, and will play murray.

  • @thisislaser Rafa has won in queens in 2008 on fast grass.

  • @thisislaser Yeh dickhead rogi never won on the fast grass courts at wimbledon with the light tennis balls, Ask henman, 2002 was the biggest change in the speed at wimbledon they started opening the cans of balls a week early and the grass seeds were changd

  • @quiet1234 I already know that moron.

  • @quiet1234

I would say that the fast court play of the nineties was not much worse or even equal to today, but slow court tennis with the heavy topspin, angles and super rallies is really much better now then in the nineties.

  • @ulizinho Maybe you should go back in time and give those guys better racquets and strings. Btw, fast court play in the nineties was way better. They at least knew how to volley.

  • @Meshalhasseen

that is what I say. Sampras surely would have good chances against Nadal and Federer on grass. But I doubt whether Bruguera, Courier, Wilander and maybe even Guga and Muster could beat Nadal or Federer on Clay.

  • @Meshalhasseen

it is impressive how Nadal gets back into the points, though he is far behind the baseline and Agassi is dictating as usually the point standing close to the baseline. That is what I like of the tennis of today, the defense-to-offense game of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer.

  • Search "Hitler upset with Federer and Nadal" on youtue. It's funny!

  • Just browsing for Rafa tennis, what a match from Nadal, my 2 most favourite players, Nadal a touch more, and how strong he is here, incredible and he is just so sweet and humble here as always, god bless you Rafa ALWAYS!

  • menos facilidad de palabras tiene los periodistas, dios mio! lo unico que dicen es 'impresionante'....comprense un diccionario por favor!!!!

  • Vuvuzelas playing during Wimbledon with a team of aircraft pilots practicing stunts right above.

  • NAdal played great in this match, even though agassi was not at his peak.

Awesome shots all the way around here.

  • impressionante !!!!!!!

  • ...then Agassi retires 2 months later.

  • I love you Andre!

  • i close my eyes and start jerking off

  • Jamás había visto este video.Dios mío!Ojalá cuegue así contra Soderling Vamos Rafa!

  • this is when rafa was a beast

  • Impresionante XD

  • And Federer and Sampras in his prime would be a great match to. On grass. 5 sets. Then we'll see who's the King of Slams.

  • Agassi final in Wimbledon? Thanks!

  • LOL Rafa celebrated winning before the crowd realised what was happening =P

  • why don't people who make these videos make them more realistic where one person doesn't win every single point. this video makes agassi look like he sucks, when it was a pretty even match.

  • agassi, such an idiot...

  • i cant se fucking ball

    q grande:D nadal

  • nadal won this

  • Nadal is a BEAST!

    Saludos

  • JAjajaja... "impresionante".

  • damn. i had seen this match in scotland....i was wondering "no way nadal wont beat agassi thats impossible" and he did in 3 straight sets.....i was so upset

  • dude agassi was 35 nadal 21

  • i cant believe i cant remember this match i bin wtahcin tennis fully since like 2004 and i cant remember this one

  • aggassi actually hated tennis

his parents put him in a tennis accadamy and the only way for him to get out of tennis was by being the best

and look where he is now even though he hates tennis

  • @tennisruler5

You better dont believe in everything that a professional writer wrote for Agassi in order to sell copies.

He loved and loves and will love tennis.

  • @tennisruler5 only his father wanted to put him in an accademy...

  • @tennisruler5

ehm thats really not true. he hated tennis in the past just because his father was so hard on him. But later on he enjoyed the game what so ever. And besides why would he play a career that long? And why else would he play charity events now?

  • @peterpkr ur right he did grow fond of it my bad

  • @tennisruler5 no shit he only says it about 500 times in his book

  • @tennisruler5 agassi HATED tennis. He doesn't hate it anymore. His dad forced him to hit 1,000,000 balls a year at 8 years old. That is tiring. You would hate tennis too if you had to do that. Agassi didn't hate tennis nearer towards the end

  • @tennisruler5 haev you read his book? i love it

  • i can barely see the ball :(

  • @auman311 you must have GREAT EYES i can't see the ball

  • @auman311 that's what she said

  • @auman311 yeah they're too fast :)

  • Agassi is still the best American player.

  • Not Pete?

  • Hmm, good point. I haven't seen them play recently. Agassi was still making finals a few years ago. But then again, Pete took sets off Federer recently. Anyway... they are are both still better than any of the American players on tour today.

  • They haven't played recently because they retired a long time ago Gowrie, LOL. Comparing Agassi and Pete to Federer is stupid because they never facing each other in their primes. IMO, if all 3 had grown up together (sort of like what Agassi/Pete did) then Federer would have less than 10 slams in his career. Federer's only true rival (who doesn't seem to crack) is Rafa and he's been injured and is a specialist on clay (although he's starting to beat Roger on all surfaces now).

  • These are my two favorite players.

Agassi had a chance in the first tiebreak, but this was actually extremely one-sided.

Nadal did not face a single break point the entire match.

  • True ihateuutube. I like Nadal as well, but Agassi is my favourite of all time. I wonder how Nadal would do if he was the 36 year old facing Agassi when Agassi was 20 years old? It might have been a lot worst than the score we just saw in favour of Nadal. Just saying....

  • agassi at 20 was worse than agassi at 36.

agassi 20 was physically less fit, mentally uncompromising and inhbited, techniques not nearly as controlled and mastered as 36 agassi.

  • Maybe Gabe. But it's a proven fact that almost all physical abilities are at their peak in the twenties, and taper off. When Agassi was a youngster, he preyed on older players. If we reversed the ages here, Agassi would obliterate Rafa and trust me, I like Rafa. It's just the truth.

  • proven facts for general populace doesn't account for fact for whole of all. Agassi is the perfect example of a man who was fitting after 27 than when he was 20-25. You must have been asleep during the past 3 weeks when Agassi emphasized his lack of personal motivation, his personal commitment into the sports before 27, and his wigs. But it's ok, that's why I am here to tell you.

On top of the improved skills, Agassi in his 30s and late 20s far surpassed Agassi at 22, etc.

  • Gabe, Agassi was my favourite athlete and I watched many of his matches. Sure, he didn't have the same dedication in his 20's when compared to his late 20's/early 30's. But, he was the number 1 player in the world at the age of 25 (before he fell off the map), when Sampras was in his prime. Therefore with less committment, it's safe to assume that he had more talent then when compared to the latter part of his career. Don't try to talk Agassi with an Agassi fanatic, you just look dumb.

  • If you think that Agassi had more skill when he was in his 30's (and it wasn't more because of his dedication and fitness, on top of constructing points better in the latter part of his career) then you are a simpleton friend. Agassi had an immense amount of talent (which eventually rose him to #1) and that's why everyone always talked him up. In the latter part of his career, Agassi got in amazing shape and played a much smart game. He didn't go for broke, he broke opponents.

  • Good points. IMO The Agassi of 94-95 would probably have been the perfect matchup for Nadal. Agassi had very powerful groundstrokes back in the day, hitting it hard, flat and early. These sorts of players have troubled Nadal throughout his career, and once you throw in the consistency and point construction that Agassi learned by the mid 90s, it will be very difficult for Rafa to counter Andre.

  • fair enough, how about Agassi on his prime vs todays Nadal.

  • 6-2 6-1 6-2 agassi hahaha

  • agassi is 16 years older than nadal yet nadal is the only one emitting noises that resemble a donkey being whipped.

  • at least Nadal didn't do meth.

  • i like how you use past tense. agassi took meth when he was already an experienced player. if nadal started taking meth as his current age then fuck that's one burnt out player.

  • Rafa won almost all the long rallies

    excellent player

    Vamos Rafa!!!

  • Funny how nobody mentions Nadal by "Nadal" but always by "Rafa", never Rafael, either.

    Sheep.

  • its just a nickname, lighten up

  • You follow me round youtube seemingly, fuck off.

  • coincidence my friend. do lighten up though. congrats on watching a vid not related to the 05AO semi (marats sole achievement)

  • More stalking, haha.

I don't think you watched tennis prior to 2006 to be honest.

Cause yaaaaa, he must have done nothing to earn the number 1 ranking in 2000.

  • yeh but he only got to no.1 cos he beat sampras in the 2000 US open final. and beating new millennium sampras was pretty easy. even lleyton hewitt did it the very next year, after a teen federer ended his wimby streak. but im sure u didnt need a history lesson.

  • omg,how can u say something like that u racist, fool, the tennis is so hard sport-i wud like to see u u motherfcker...Safin is great tennist, since not the best

  • and i didn't watch this video, because Agassi was on one leg, no fun in watching this.

  • nadals grunt sounds like a 15 year old boy with down syndrome trying to hump a door knob

  • Agassi is one of only 6 men to have a grand slam, one of only 3 men to win on 3 different surfaces, the only man to win a "Golden" slam, the oldest number one player ever who won most of his slams after the age of 29...yeah, I see your point...NOT!!!!

  • Wow, Rafa was serving like Roddick.

  • haha

  • ford focus? seguro tu tienes uno pinche pobre

  • Pues claro que tengo uno, payaso, porque soy pobre.

  • You know what, it's people like you's that destroy tennis for others, always arguing over who is better. Can't anyone love tennis as a sport and not treat the players like some sort of god. Yes they are all great in their own way, but there is no reason to have some great debate about it.

  • the best tennis players i've ever seen (i'm 26 years old): roger federer; pete sampras, rafa nadal, andre agassi, stefan edberg, patrick rafter, boris becker, tim henman, leyton hewitt, goran ivanisevic.......i didn't see connors, lendl, mc enroe, vilas, etc in their best years.......that's the reason cause i chose that ones.........

  • What sport is this? There's no ball involved.

  • Its called Air Tennis :P.

  • Such Charisma, Andre! Great comeback from being below 140 in the rankings. You will always have a special place in our tennis memories.

    Viva Las Vegas, and Andre!

  • nadal is the 2000s agassi,,,,federer is the 2000s sampras

  • I really used to hate Agassi during his rivalry with the GREATEST of all time Sampras, but after time I've grown to respect him and look upon one of the greatest players ever. Unlike Federer the cry baby, Agassi is a legend!

  • Sampras will always be to me the Greatest of All Time...at least Agassi gave respect to Pete Sampras...Federer isn't so generous towards his opponents always there is an excuse for him losing never can he admit he was beaten on the day by the better man!

  • Not always!

  • Comment removed

  • federer fake smiles when he wins? when and HOW would you see that? and neither of them's playing here anyway, so why the comment!

it's an interesting matchup here: both not exactly in their prime and especially not on their favorite surface...

  • To johnsteinbeck

I agree, how could you tell if someone fake smiles? Everyone would be happy when they win, so they smile. Federer just doesn't show as much emotion, otherwise it might be showing weakness?

  • hahaha, very funny, pete knows Roger is the GREATEST.deal with it, jealousy and names change nothing.

  • Federer is the greatest of all time, deal with it , you bastard...

  • pshhhshshshshshs nadal will take him on easy, nadal can beat federer, he may have more grand slams but nadal can beat federer just look at the stats

  • It`s almost never been easy for Rafael to beat Roger...

  • Man, I totally agree....if you compare them one to one, Nadal is better than Federer...but if you look at the entire picture, Federer has accomplished more things than Nadal......of course, Federer is 27: that's a relevant fact....

  • Comment removed

  • My two favourites

  • Roger Federer

  • My two favourites both geniuses!

Andre still my favourite for moment!

  • I'll always remember this match because Andre got sick of waiting for Rafa to towel off and serve so he sat down in a linesman's chair, lol.

  • andre could hardly move in this match andre was laboring all of 06 cuz of his back to all the tards that cant tell

  • wow even 3 years ago nadal easily could beat agassi, i know that agassi isn't at his peak here but it is still very impressive, i wish we could have the agassi of 1999 face the current nadal, that would be a fantastic match

  • @n3jad What the F*** are you talking about??? EVEN 3 YEARS AGO???

YOURE TALKING ABOUT AGASSI AT HIS AGE 36 DUDE. IT STILL AMAZES ME HOW HE CAN PLAY THAT LEVEL AT HIS AGE

  • @holytiger89 It is amazing. 36 is over the hill. Glad Andre ditched his walker for this match. Long live Agassi. Greatest player of all time!

  • it is 15 years difference of age. agassi was almost a pro when Nadal was Born...

  • He actually was a pro already. He even finished the year ('86) in the top 100.

  • nadal gave agassi is a real hiding.

  • I believe Andre was too bulked up during his last 2 yrs. I think the 1995 Andre had the best physique.

  • maybe but remember the agassi of 99-00, i think in those years he payed his best and his physique was incredible

  • This video seems to show that both players are in pretence with striking the ball and are striking the air lol

  • you cant even see the ball in this video. lol

  • A well deserved standing ovation for Agassi, he was a legend and a gent.

  • a gent? you are calling the great rebel a gent?

  • On court he was a gent.

  • Agassi's name can't get good results now.

  • video compression ate the ball

  • aggasi fair player

  • fed best of all time

  • age is beating aggassi.

  • Nadal is No1 ! I like it !

  • Nadal you are number 1

  • love seeing generation against generation. though i have to admit, even though im a nadal fan, agassi in his prime could beat nadal for the most part on any surface. i think clay would be iffy but thats just me

  • Agassi > Nadal on HC. Everywhere else Nadal would win.

  • Just iffy? Agassi could never beat him on clay. Now, he could never beat him on grass. Hardcourt he could, but that may just be for now. Nadal could get better, still.

  • especially since rafa won the AO

  • i would say that too, cos think about it nadal is a physical player who keeps hitting the ball back and Agassi in his prime was the ultimate ping pong machine lolz.

  • this was the match when nadal hited more aces.he shot 18 aces

  • Which will never happen if Agassi was younger lol.

  • Agassi is such a better ball striker than Nadal, it's evident here. Nadal's is much, much faster though. Agassi almost won the first set and this was a match where he was sitting down in between some points because his back hurt so much.

  • i m very khappy lol

  • Nice age difference between those two...16 years? How was Agassi supposed to win this match...

  • dude, he's pretty much the second greatest player of all time. next to pete sampras... hahaha...

  • no way...

  • believe it man... that's why he's my second fave tennis player... next to nadal... hehehe...

  • Not a great applause after the match...understandable, since a legend had left the building.
