As much as I really can't stand "Break up the Concrete," this was as close as they've gotten to the Honeyman-Scott/Farndon era as I've heard in years. It would have been even better if Hynde had kept on Martin Chambers for it. But apparently he's cool about it, so who am I to second-guess either of them?
Totally agree that this song channels the original Pretenders energy of the first 2 LPS. I was lucky enough to see that lineup twice n the first U.S. tour. Killer!
@mc2NY This was supposed to be a song to stop animal cruelty so here we go i had a korean diplomat liveing
next door the guy across the street was a logistics expert with the red cross he did both plane crashes on long island and set up a shelter for people that had to be eacuated from downtown new york on 911, he said do you know Mr. kim I said dont call him mister he runs stop signs and people in korea cook dogs .
@cubdukat what do you mean didnt chambers play on it isnt that him in the letterman clip he looks older but its him I thought they always had the same drummer [except in the black and white video in paris trere is a black drummer but he may have been a stand in ]
@spacepatrolman He played on the tour and all the engagements supporting it, but Martin Chambers did not play on "Break Up The Concrete." He claims that Chrissie never even called him to let him know she was using Jim Keltner.
I've tried to post the link for the interview, but it won't let me.
We had so much fun making this. We have some great ideas however our camcorder is outdated and we were unable to slice in all the great ideas we had. There are 8 siblings so we are all chipping in and buying an ultra cam. Then we can really go crazy!!! Thanks for the motivation, love your music!! Debbie Boots Bailey
This is a great song. I also love the fact that Chrissie Hynde is taking a stand against leather, fur, and other cruel aspects of the fashion industry.
This is a all new band only one left is Chrissie when what they needed was to replace her. She wrote some great songs here in the new CD but it's time that Grandma hands over the reign's!
Breaking Bad -_-

the first few intro chords are an homage to a 50's song that i can't think of the name. WHAT IS IT?
