issan is the name of place before part of chenla (khmer empire ), later langxang ( lao ) , but now thailand ! issan have too many ethnic kuy, khmer, thai,lao, chinese, viet ...etc...

i don't think isan is a people. Isan is the name of the region. They have Khmer, Laos and Thai and maybe few more cultures. But Isan is the name for the region.

buriram is part of the issan region where many khmer are at too. not many thai people live there other than Isan, lao, and khmer.
