Golden Gun was a first in bond movies, all that came before had armies fighting each other at the end. It was 1st bond movie where it was Mano ey Mano one on 1contest between lethal killers. Its a shame Coops song did not win the contest.

This is actually pretty good. This would suit Roger Moore so well because Roger Moore brought adventure to his Bond. Lulu's was good too, I don't understand why people disregard Lulu's as a good version. I thought it described the villain pretty well. I wonder if the movie producers had chosen this song instead of Lulu's, would we look back and think that Lulu's version was horrible? Haha!

They need to come out with a hard rock 007 song, especially in the 70's when if they wanted a British band they could of gotten the Who, the Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc... And in the 80's they got Duran Duran and A-ha. They aren't even rock bands there synthetic pop/new wave and they called themselves rock bands

@NathyM91 ~ Yes he did. Although he fought with the producers in any attempt to "toughen" Bond up. My favorite Moore moment has to be the run through/over the labyrinth in "For Your Eyes Only."

But I stand by my statement that he was a more "laid back" Bond and the Cooper theme would not have worked for him.

I don't DISLIKE "Golden Gun" (I save that for "Moonraker" and "A View To A Kill") but it was very lightweight.

This song was to be the theme of James Bonds The Man with the Golden Gun, but instead they used the theme by Lulu. I wish they have chosen this one

@ALDabbagh1988 -No. Alice and company did this song on spec and sent it in. There's no indication that they ever really considered it.
