  • 2:59 to 3:12 in one breath. even many of our most deservedly well known can't pull that off, and might i add with such a wonderful line and lyricism. brava.

  • Beautiful voice. The best performance of this aria I know. And her emotional mimic ! Impressive, touching me.

  • underrated melody. this melody needs more exposure

  • Rachel Yakar will always remain, for me, the best Donna Elvira ever captured on audio / video. It is a warm, intelligent, ultra-musical portrait of a technichally difficult, emotionally intricate role, and one which Mozart probably loved best of all his dramatic creations. Never mind the occasional raw note, this is an extremely musical and intelligent rendition of this aria. Brava la Yakar!

  • terrible high notes, absent expression and dynamics . . . Absent notes in low register :(

  • Wan't this the production where Tom Allen sang his first Don G?

  • her voice sounds quite different from the ponnelle monteverdi film

  • Meo iudicio the best interpretation: splendid voice, perfect pronounce, wonderful at all.

  • simply wonderful...

  • Love her voice. I had the luck to hear her often in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.

  • Rachel Yakar = steamingly sensuous in this.

  • Magnifiscent Rachel Yakar!!! A pupil of our great Maestra Germaine Lubin!!!!

  • So many good versions of this aria on youtube, including this one. I listened also to Felecity Lott and Kiri Te Kanawa's versions. Also great!

  • This is Rachel Yakar, a Sephardic Jew, which may make the difference in her production. She is not a "spring chicken." We sang together in Düsseldorf in La Bohème in 1970. She sang Mimi. I hear no difference in her production with the exception that she sings even better. This is what great technique and pcking the right roles can result in. She is nothing less than excellent and I would put her in her mid-to-late fifties,

  • she is 39 in this video.

  • I am going to sing this in a few weeks and I hope I can do as good a job as her.

  • I love almost all Glyndebourne productions.. And this video proves it one more time..

  • waaw, she's really convincing! How can you order recordings from Glyndebourne?

  • you can try their website I guess, but no need.. You can go to amazon website and do a

search with Glyndebourne and you'll see all the dvds

  • You really have to see Roxana Briban`s version of this. She is the best!

  • One of the best singins od this aria I've ever seen.

  • Amazing!!! Any more clips of this woman you'd like to share please?

  • Especially singing "Pur ti miro" in "l'Incoronazione di Poppea"?

  • This is the best performance of "Mi tradi" I've ever heard!

  • whoa, she's good, she's really good
