2:59 to 3:12 in one breath. even many of our most deservedly well known can't pull that off, and might i add with such a wonderful line and lyricism. brava.
Rachel Yakar will always remain, for me, the best Donna Elvira ever captured on audio / video. It is a warm, intelligent, ultra-musical portrait of a technichally difficult, emotionally intricate role, and one which Mozart probably loved best of all his dramatic creations. Never mind the occasional raw note, this is an extremely musical and intelligent rendition of this aria. Brava la Yakar!

This is Rachel Yakar, a Sephardic Jew, which may make the difference in her production. She is not a "spring chicken." We sang together in Düsseldorf in La Bohème in 1970. She sang Mimi. I hear no difference in her production with the exception that she sings even better. This is what great technique and pcking the right roles can result in. She is nothing less than excellent and I would put her in her mid-to-late fifties,

So many good versions of this aria on youtube, including this one. I listened also to Felecity Lott and Kiri Te Kanawa's versions. Also great!
