Interestingly the director of this Geoffrey Sax went on to direct The New Statesman and the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie in the States featuring Paul McGann
With the state of British television today this would have the ability to be a massive hit if remade for today's audiences.
However, the main downside is that when this was made, by LWT, ITV was multiple franchises. I can't see ITV Plc willingly send itself up, nor would it want to be seen to attack anyone else as low brow rubbish for fear of being pot-kettle black'd...
Is the brief 'Are You Being Stereotyped' spoof on the DVD? Maybe not, for the same reason. Annoying to buy the DVD thinking you are getting the whole series when in fact bits have been chopped out!
He starred in a sketch which showed him and Denise Coffey outside a school where she gave his character (a schoolbuy) a clip around the ear for being a naughty boy.
Fraserkatie, was she playing a headmaster *inside* a school hall? Because I remember a sketch where she was, and I think they were rehearsing a school play.
Is there any more End of Part One clips anywhere else that you can show? My friend was on it in the early 80's. I wouldnt mind seeing his sketch he starred in.
Its a great clip although it should be pointed out that Renwick and Marshall wrote for NOT! around the same time as EOPO so it could actually be them ripping themselves off. I wish they'd do something together again soon anyway.
I find this more naive and cringe-worthy than anything Larry Grayson ever did. Still, as you say, interesting to see.

The series was a bit patchy. But some good ideas and some real gems. Must have had a huge budget too.

IT was a he! My friend "he" got taken outside by the headmaster in the sketch. Can anyone find me the sketch though, want to see it again.

By "she" I was referring to Denise Coffey!

Yes, It was Denise Coffey but she wasnt playing a headmaster I think, I think Denise was playing a teacher. Will get back to you on that!

Yes he's dressed as a schoolboy at the school gates. I think it's just before the 'da da da' sketch with the reporter.

Looks like Dr. Phil McGraw could have been co-hosted Larry Grayson's Fat Ladies Embarrassment Game.
