hey one question .... How do I get connected to the xbmc scripts?
and that upon entering any of them, like the apple tv, the video never loads. The same happens with the weather forecast, this application never loads.
That's too bad. My computer is old and sucks, and I thought my Xbox would be better suited to handle those games. This music is awesome by the way! Who is it?
Technically, you can, if you use WINE, which is a windows program emulator. Diablo 1 and 2 work just fine on those emulators. The original Xbox has plenty of power also to handle the emulation.
Not at all dude, it's entirely possible, and an Xbox has enough power to handle it. Linux runs fine on the Xbox. WINE operates on Linux. WINE itself uses very low system resources.
What system resources are to give? Motha fucka has a pentium 3 and 64 megs ram. Trust me, xdsl takes up almost if not all of it. I know how wine works but I couldn't even get ultima online to run above 5 fps. There's no wiggle room.
We're talking about Diablo 2, of course, and nobody said anything about playing it online either. Ultima Online would be worse since the graphics engines is more advanced then Diablo 2, and since it plays online.
Wow, maybe I was wrong and not using wine correctly and there was a bottleneck with it not redirecting through wine causing a bottleneck. Have you ever played ultima online? Type it into youtube and understand why I'm so confused you got diablo 2 to play.
I already answered you on the question if I have ever played Ultima Online before. Read back, and get your answer. As for quality of graphics, it's a matter of opinion. Hardware requirements however, is not.
Any program from windows that can be run on a linux computer running at atleast 400-500 mhz, 64mb RAM, and a decent graphics card, can be run on a modded XBOX with Linux installed. An XBOX is really just a PC when you break it down. Diablo 2 should work through WINE, through Linux on XBOX.
You keep mentioning Ultima Online. Funny, since I've always been talking about a different game. Also, I never did say that I did it, nor did I say I knew it could be done. I said it should. You're giving yourself way too many props on something that frankly, I don't really care that much about. I simply said it should be possible.
Diablo 2 System Requirements OS: Windows 95 and up (WINE in sub) CPU: Pentium® 233 or equivalent RAM: 32 MB RAM HDD: 650 MB available hard drive space Read Medium: 4X CD-ROM drive GFX: DirectX compatible video card Xbox Hardware CPU: 733 MHz Intel Custom Pentium III RAM: Micron 64 MB DDR SDRAM GFX: 250 MHz Custom-Designed NV2X Do the math. It should be possible. Someone will get it someday, if they already haven't. WINE should be able to emulate it.
It redirects direct-x shaders through the rendering client wine is a client that re-directs everything through linux' open source 3d engine of choice
It's not an emulator. If Wine was an emulator (says you) it would take 3x the horsepower minimum by rule of thumb not taking into dynaric or static rendering and the resources don't match.
Yeah actually, I'm not arguing with you really, I'm just saying it should be possible to do. Anyways, I'm ending this, because it doesn't really matter. Thanks for the "info".
I can't find where to download it! can someone please help?!?! I've been trying to find it for the better part of a year now and I can't find anything....
buying an old xbox and a 160gb harddisk makes a lot of sence doesn't it :p. I'm running about the same stuff it's really relaxt browsing on you're tv. I'm got an xbox plus an old pc. Couldn't wish for more.

Could you play a somewhat older game like, say, Diablo 2 or Warcraft 3 on Linux? Any way to play these on Xbox? Thanks

Yes, I have, and that's merely a matter of opinion really on the quality of graphics.

Oh please enlighten me. I only have 4 modded xbox's I can see within sight and was a major contributor to the king roach ndure exploit.
Now why don't you look up some system requirements of xdsl and how it runs idle, how it runs with wine.
Ultima online minimum recommended requirements
requirements Intel Pentium CPU, 32 MB RAM, DirectX 5, Internet access
You know that the xbox is just a direct x 7/8 machine and contains 64 megs which leaves 32 megs wiggle room and a pentium 3 processor.

So, explain to me why I was getting 5 fps in a game that requires half of what the xbox is capable of?
You can't run diablo 2. Like you said. The hardware requirements are a fact!

Do you know what wine stands for?
Wine is not (an) Emulator.
Stop arguing with me when I clearly know more.

how do you use an exernal hard drive with xbmc
MuggieOnUTube 3 years ago
you cannot plug it directly
with a xpad to usb adapter
because it needs to be fatx file
system . plug to your computer ,
make a share then open it in windows
that xbmc could see it.

He's using xcalibur, but you better get Xecuter 3, with a X3 control panel.
Also, you should try the MC360 skin, if you like 360's dashboard.
