  • thanks for the upload! i was like 11 yrs old when this shit was goin down...

  • Magnifique!!!

  • fanx guy

  • Oooooh, Roland Ratzenberger @ 5:55 driving the yellow M3.

  • hold up group A cars had up to 600bhp so how the hell did civic compete?

  • If you look at the on-screen info during the pre-race interviews, it showed what division they raced in. Div.1 was the real Group A (unfortunately, by around this time in the vid, Gr.A in Japan might as well had been called the unofficial R32 Skyline GT-R One-Make Series, you can see for yourself at the beginning that all the Div.1 cars shown are in fact R32 GT-Rs).

  • Div.2 was essentially for Super Touring or lower-level GT saloons (like the BMW M3, as seen in the video) Finally, to your question about the Civics, they competed in Div.3, which was essentially the precursor to the Japan Touring Car Championship (the JTCC, not the JGTC) that would come about later in 1996 (and canceled after 1998). Div.3 ran mainly Civics and Corollas. It all was just called Group A because Gr.A was the marquee class.

  • Race queens in 1-piece bathing suits and drivers with exposed chests. AWESOME.
