  • He's Clarence Seedorf in his twenties.

  • No mazitoz you Knob he didn't

  • did he said black party ? XD

  • @carlo88moe they should of, such talent!

  • Did these ever make it big in the US then?

  • @Infernal9666 dude, oasis even never really made it here, but theyre well known in music lover circles, Silent Alarm was the best alum of its year

  • this makes me extremely proud to be british

  • Why is the noise output of the drums behind?

  • If this song doesn't get you going, you suck. Hard.

  • 'so underrated'

  • the both pedalboards are amazing

  • agreeing with you Theant, defining tune of this era - I'm on fire!

  • This was THE greatest song of the 2000s. BAR FUCKING NONE.

Just my opinion, tho. Which is fact, BTW.

  • BLACK PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAVID LETTERMAN YOU RACIST SON OF A GUN

  • I MISS THEM :'( THE BAND ISNT THE BAND WITHOUT KELE

  • @KittyxLava idk where you got that information but they went on hiatus and got back together back in September and are working on new material and probably a new album will result from it...Kele is still with them.

  • @Silverone43

o_o Oh. Thanks. I blame MTV for this false info then.

  • @KittyxLava man, fuck MTV. it's nothing but jersey whores and teen mom shit now. beavis and butthead are back and that's good but fuck everything else about the current MTV.

  • @ThePencilboxofDOOM

I know :\ My brother watches it all the time. And I was passing by then I heard that false info and I was like: WUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

  • This chorus is so freakin catchy you will never be able to get this song out of your head

  • i MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISS THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!!!

  • his faces sometimes... damn

  • How bout your a racist maggot party?

  • @bennissimov Nein, the bass has the tone he wants, remember this is live.

  • great performance but that bass tone is poopy

  • One of the few bands that are as good live as they are on CDs.

  • Annoyingly out of sync. Theis would be a savage live vid of this track were it in sync

  • @willzer808 Put it in 240p it won't be out of sync.

  • @willzer808 thanks :)

  • Drummer is awesome!!!

  • Part of me hopes Bloc Party don't enjoy too much success after the reunion, don't want them to become part of the mainstream shit that is today's music and I love being one of the few people in my area to have heard of them. Super band!

  • @Patrick7Star hello captain hipster

  • @xarcticcx well hipsters rule they wear flannels, horn rimmed glasses, make awesome indie music are just fun, come on dude i dont mean major hipster but i still like what being hipster is about

  • @adamriordanlovespunk You like what being hipster is about? They are about nothing whatsoever except trying to be so anti-mainstream, that they become part of the mainstream. You're horrible

  • I hate it when some lame old man comes on stage after that epic rock. He's like oh that's fabulous well done welcome to USA. They been they're before on fucking holiday!

  • @spirit241000

If someone comes to your house do you welcome them every time they come or only the first?

  • Russell rule

  • lol the lyrics makes no sense but the song is killer!!

  • @pwnownz6 with a main guitar riff like that who gives a fuck

  • @lukegranger89 true true but i just recently looked up the lyrics and they make sense because i couldnt hear the lead singer that well due to his accent.

  • Love playing drums to this song!

  • Matt is pissed he's forced to wear a shirt in this performance.

  • In the music video I didnt notice the british accent as much.

  • Proud East Londoner here

  • I love how Kele smiles after hitting the perfect note at the beginning of the first verse.

  • the cure were doing this in 1979

  • black party looooool

  • I really want to like this band but his vocalist is kind of bad.

  • @Swingfinger I know. Eventually, you realize that it's part of their charm.

  • @Swingfinger Well it's a sort of indie vocal style. Either way, only someone with a good voice can control those high vocal notes a minute in.

  • nice band- brilliant drummer

  • there's no such thing as an easy drum part you still got nail every beat perfect simple or not p.s. Questlove is god

  • That fucking drummer....sheeet hes good.

  • yeah one of my fav band of all time... grande bloc

  • that guitarist is trying so hard to be radiohead's guitarist

  • @frusciante319 He and Jonny Greenwood are quite similar but I think he's established himself as a very interesting guitar player

  • @frusciante319 yo mean johnny ? ye after u said it i can kinda see it too im not sure if he acctually is doing it knowing that he is , but he is very much acting like him , kinda playing the same way too , also the hair ...

  • @Comed3y Hey hey-you can't blame Russell for wanting to be Johnny. But yeah, he does resemble him a lot.

  • @Comed3y wikipedia says that he's a big fan of him.. and for those who don't know, Jonny is spelled without H because its Jonathan, not John. by the way, i think that Russell has a very similar way to play, its kinda Pablo Honey, The Bends and Ok Computer style of Jonnys, anyway, Russel needs to eat his vegetables.

  • Matt Helders + Matt Tong = Godness

  • These drum parts are not ridiculously hard. They are spot on like a metro, but not hard.

  • <3 So awesome

  • I love how Letterman has no clue about this band. Every guest band is read by him looking downwards. Hilarious!

  • audio lag is pissing me off. love it though

  • Aye the drum beats are out of this world

  • most fun song to play on the drums....period.

  • Absolute Favorite Song In The Fucking WORLD. And This Album?? Forget About It. All Love.

  • Amazing performance. But... Did he just Freudian slip and say "It's Black Party"?

    Right at the end 3.33

  • @TheRatj no pretty sure he said bloc

  • These guys are great!! Their syncopation is almost flawless, and the lyricism is really meaningful stuff. Reminds me of old stuff from The Clash, but with more meaning. Clash's lyrics were a little too random, and off the wall for me. Not to mention, their music was too repetetive in nature to evenhold my attention much. Good stuff, here. :)

  • @flowerdove2168 In other words you hate the clash lol

  • @bertoli44 Hate is a very strong word...just selective. There's a reason why only two or three of their songs were fairly well-known...(becoming legendary hits, even)...but my fiancee loves them all. I like "Radio Clash" and "Rock the Casbah", and maybe a couple of others, but for favorite FULL albums, my personal favs are Crash Test Dummies, Supertramp, Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, etc. :)

  • So under-rated.

  • @tomondolajasong Not really lol BP is one of the most well known indie bands :D

  • @raven66614 that's a part of the lyrics lol

  • @tomondolajasong haha they arent under rated everybody knows and loves them!

  • @tomondolajasong so true.

  • @tomondolajasong i see what you did there......

  • such an underrated band

  • Its way outta sync, or its just me? :/

  • @MoahGentle I don't think so.But they do use a shitload of delay on their guitars.

  • @MoahGentle no it's out of sync, cause when we see the lead guitarist play, we here the vocal guitarist guitar sound, same for the drummer, we don't here the snare at the moment when he hit it ! :)

  • @MoahGentle It's not as out-of-sync as some videos, but give it credit, this video celebrates its 5th birthday in September, so it's going well! I've seen videos fuck up after less than a year

  • @MoahGentle yeah, it appears to have been dubbed by a moron.

  • I just discovered this band and...HOLY SHIT ARE THEY GOOD!!!!!!

  • @kdc19941

keep that in mind ;) and you missed the best part.. they are splitted... untill september they coming back!

  • I liked Sevendust before they went emo

  • Did he say BLACK party. :/ *sigh*

  • Epic performance...and then..."Hi!! Welcome to America!" Maybe Letterman was just at a lose for words from their performance haha.

  • 45 ppl have a heart of stone.

  • Don't get me wrong, i like the band but don't you think they could have a better bass player?

  • 45 people have genital herpes.

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • @N123P456

this was filmed '06, so i guess they were 25+ years old

  • Does ne one kno any other records like their self titled EP? That was the shiznit!!!

  • Amazing song...classic EP...still haven't found any indie post punk record that was quite like this...ne one kno of one?

  • oo yeah.. it's not hard drum part.. guess u are too cocky to even enjoy this awesomeness..

  • the black man's mouth is really big :O

  • hard drum part? its not that hard dude

  • fuckin awesome yo!!!

  • We know the CBS symbol, you shouldn't hide that shit

  • copy of jonny greenwood

  • they to much change the song :S

  • Sounds so different then the studio version

  • there's a spec on the camera.

  • fucking great band!!!

  • Anodynede is suffering from what they call "little penis syndrome", it's awful. Anyway class song, class band and a drummer who knows how to compliment the song instead of letting his ego ruin it.

  • East London's finest.

  • @dm18876 Kele and Russel are from North London..... well i live like the same road that Russel did when he was a kid and i call it north london.. hahhaa :D

  • better then the cd version!

  • matt tong's got attitude and skills

  • i hate how he says "fink" instead of think 1:47

  • @couchsloth69 That's the British for you.

  • my 12 year old sister could pull this song off on drums. typical indie drum lameness.

  • @Anodynede dude r u high is ur sister in an international band

  • When was this?

  • the lead singer can't even sing proper this band are so one dimensional n sht it makes me sick when bands like this make it and bands like mansun and the open go unnoticed when they were pure genius.

  • @dfstarborn fuck you this band is awesome there one of the few bands that sound just as good in the studio as they do live and that takes talent that apparently mansun doesnt have b/c if they did theyd be on the show now wouldnt they? ;D

  • @ZombieZzFTW

They have no melody mansun wrote epic massive tunes and they're b-sides were amazing ten times better than anything these sorry excuse for musicians listen to six and kleptomania also type in "the open" close my eye's on you tube another amazing band much better than this crap

  • @dfstarborn stfu.

  • he totally said BLACK party LOL

  • Could the singer sound any more British? Lol....I love this song though.

  • @jcfx13 he looks like that dude from the girl next door

  • best shtuf!!

  • @MegaChaosEmerald Why not? They are from Bangor in Northern Ireland. Last time I checked, that is still part of the U.K.

  • all song of bloc party are épic i love this band !

  • Bloc PArty is so good that we see them move before we hear the music.

  • i love how he can play a ridiculously hard drum part perfectly, chewing gum like he's doing nothing more complicated than taking a shit. matt tong is god.

  • @jcfx13 Couldn't agree more.

  • @jcfx13 he's a good drummer, but the drum part for banquet really isn't that hard to play

  • @jcfx13 If this was helicopter he'd break a tiny sweat :P

  • @jcfx13 this songs drumming is actually pretty easy, at least compared to their other songs!!

  • @jcfx13 not a god, but definitely a drum ninja

  • @jcfx13 it's not like he came up with it or anything...

  • @jcfx13 Hey man, I've taken some complicated shits after some hard meals.

  • @jcfx13 ridiculously hard?

  • @jcfx13 nope..its actually very easy :)

  • @thrashSJ I agree, its not "rediculously hard" at all, I'm not a drummer, and I can play this

  • @jcfx13

Nah he's just an OK drummer

  • Bloc Party are amazing, Can't say the same for Kele's solo career though -.-

  • Both countries have good bands,

i lived in both countries, (I am from germany) and i have to say that i like the british once more, but thats just my opinion.

US has the bigger quantity of bands, so they naturally have more bands out there playing.

But still both countries have way better bands than my country (except for rammstein xD)

  • even though i know he's black i still always picture a white guy when i'm listening to them

  • Wow, this video started a heated multinational debate huh? The fact is that both the UK and the states have both great and not-so-great bands, the u.s. just has fewer good bands. My opinion is that the UK Is, was, and forever will be, THE epicenter for the best music in the world. Bloc party, Two Door Cinema Club, and Foals are a few examples. The only genre that the u.s. do better than us brits is hip-hop and rap.

  • :o at the end it sounds like he says "black party"

  • I don't think American rock bands are that bad. It's just the pop and rap that suck. I just love how British bands change their styles once in a while to keep the audiences interested. Opposed to American Rock bands that do their own things and do it well.

  • @TheCmworld i am sorry my man. noone listens to this shit outside of england probs. but most american bands are loved internationaly aswell as nationaly so im sorry i only came to check out what this was and i feel like as if i've been down the road and i stepped on shit .

  • @ThePartyNbullshit I'm in Australia, the opposite side of the world to England, and I listen to Bloc Party very often...

  • @andperhaps australia is close to europe aint it?? im talking about music that reaches each and every corner of the world. be it rap, rock , heavy metal u know what im sayin?? 2pac, biggie, metallica, linkin park, britney i mean you name it.

  • @ThePartyNbullshit Geographically, Australia is pretty far away from Europe. I can see what you are saying about mainstream music, and stuff that gets serious airtime everywhere; however, Bloc Party were quite famous a couple of years ago, and have since toured internationally. Mention "Bloc Party" in Australia and you'd have good odds that people know them

  • Hipsters aggravate me so much, fuck off you little pricks. Listening to indie music doesn't make you any better than the rest of us.

  • thats what i like about being in an indie band, the filthier it sounds the better it is

  • slight mistake at 0:38

  • is it just me or is kele trying to sing with an american accent rather than his regular english accent

  • @OswaldTheMartian its just you

  • @OswaldTheMartian

Last time I checked you can't really sing an accent but it doesn't sound like he is to me.

  • @dwayneb9584

You're joking, right? If you can't hear accents in the singing voice, you have hearing problems.

  • the beat. is so. addictive. cant. get. enough.

  • I want to hug Russel and Kele sooo much :D

  • @elementz1986 Are you fucking kidding me? Nirvana is kick ass. So many bands are influenced by their music. At least they're unique not like all these weird-ass british bands copying one another in this "teenage," high school rock trend. It's hilarious how you say America doesn't have any good bands but yet, all these foreign bands do major tours in America. Did you forget about the Beach Boys, The Doors, Guns N Roses, and METALLICA?

  • ele é igual a um amigo meu , o vocalista....

  • its twice as good becuase he's black.

  • holy shit this is off sync

  • I think we can all agree that North Korea has the worst music in the world.

  • sorry but it doesnt look like he is really playing guitar.

  • @nofxb182

    He's not lead guitar.

  • ahhh all the band members where they SHOULD be :)

  • yes they're ON FIRE

  • the drummer is sooo good. very talented musicians

  • the kooks ?suck

  • BP 4EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • how about you all shut the fuck up and enjoy your music. I moved to the states from Korea 3 years ago and I got into both British and American psychedelic, indie and any other rock music. America and UK both have great bands and terrible ones. So just appreciate those haters and keep listening to your music.

From UK I LOVE Oasis (don't get me wrong, Liam Gallagher is still a prick but I love Noel Gallagher, he's a god). and US I LOVE MGMT and they're my most fav. So both all have great music.

  • Comment removed

  • NME's not always been dire, back when it had to compete with melody maker they really tried. Now its overly expensive junk you couldnt pay me to read, its sister magazine Uncut I do really enjoy.

  • fuck I hate when the video is slightly off from the audio

  • Show the yanks how its done :)

  • Fucking love Bloc party

  • Did he say Black Party? Racist... xD

  • no he said bloc party
