We have a 3788 IH as well with front duals and it came from the factory like that as well. My dad bought it new. We love that tractor. Best tractor to side dress corn with ever!!!!
The 3788 NEVER came with front duals from the factory. They were not recommended to use either. Not because the front ends were weak ( The front end was identical to the rearend, just flipped around. They were the same axles and housings used in the 1486 series) The claim that the front ends could not handle duals is not valid due to the fact that if the back could the front could as well. The problem came when the tires ( front and rear) would contact eachother.
cormus...you just keep on selling that $6 conventional wheat and hand over whatever profits you have to Monsanto. As long as you can maintain your government subsidization you're laughin. In the meantime make yourself feel better by cutting down the things that threaten you. LOL
@Brant1A for one we don't have government subsidization in Canada, and two we are producing alot more wheat now that we are not tilling up the ground and losing the moisture stored there. I wasn't cutting down anything, merely suggesting you try a different technology. We as farmers have to embrace technology if we are going to get ahead, but as I see from the way you replied on here, you are stuck in the past. As most of the "older" generation is. Have fun working yourself to death.
spray 2liters of a glyphosate per acre and tank mix 24D and Banvell 2 and 6 grams per acre of "DuPont" Tribenuron Methyl 50SG Herbicide, We get the broadleaf chemical pre packaged in western Canada as Triton K, That will take care of your alfalfa problem. And leave the cultivator in the yard and sow right into the stubble with a round up ready crop of some kind.
The best tractor ever produced imo. I would own every one I could afford. Treat them like the 200hp tractor they are and they will never let you down. Treat them like a 300 hp tractor which they act like and you'll have problems.
NIce equipment. I always thought it would be cool to drive one.

Very nice tractor. Glad to see a real farmer using his hands instead of that auto-steer bullshit.
Thanks for the content.

3788's came from the factory with duals. 33's and 35's didn't...as far as I know. I could certainly be wrong. Our tractor is factory setup.
Brant1A 1 year ago
@Brant1A Not trying to be argumentative but the first 2+2's to come from the factory, built and approved for front duals, were the 7288's and 7488's.
If you can afford either of those, you have deeper pockets than me! :D
The 33, 35, & 3788's didn't have a heavy enough front end to be rated for duals... although that didn't stop many people from running them!
farmalltom 1 year ago
ohhhh 2+2's, nothing else even comes close, we ran a 3588 for years on a 5000 gallon nuhn manuer tank, it was a super nice system

Have always been under the impression these 3388-3788s were never met to have duals on them
