hey, im a huge ace combat 5 fan, and there are only two things i have not been able to do in the game, 1-unlock the falken sp color, and 2, which i need help with, see the mir 2000 in the first flight cutscen, what plane combo do you need?
This game should also be remade for the newer generation. with the new graphics, this game would destroy every game out of the water. i'm still hoping for an ace combat 8,9,10, whatever: Return of Razgriz.
I have to admit... this game had the best graphics of any PS2 game. Just look at it, if you're flying above 500ft then everything looks great, this game has the best PS2 graphics. The gameplay and campaign takes away from that. I love this game and this song.

For those who say Ace Combat 5 has the best story, I'd have to say that in my opinion it is a three way tie between 4, 5, and Zero. I just like the way that Zero told the story about an ace pilot who disappeared for no reason. Ace Combat 4 really had two stories, one about the narrator, and the other about Mobious 1.

compared to the Yukes (AC5 pilots) The Erusians(AC4 pilots) and the Belkans(AC Zero) in a dogfight The Yukes suck. So if in storyline AC5 is good but in gameplay AC4 and AC Zero are better
I loved this game, really must go back to playing it. If they re-released it for the next gen consoles then I would buy it all over again. Story-great (started me writing lol), soundtrack-brillint ((had it all on my ipod before my itunes library got wiped), gameplay experience-not as good as AC6 planes (but that had a better engine)

@SomeDumbYankee Zero is not just more the same stuff, remember it is explaining what Happened 15 years before AC5, Zero wasn't expected to change anything. But at least it cleared a lot of doubts, questions and even more the origins of the SOLG and Arkbird. Think about it before judging it.
at 1:55 thats my fav plane, the mig-29 im having a hard time seeing which missions come at which questions, i only know one question that determines a mission, on the one where u have to take out enemy cargo planes that have jammers that make u think that there are hundreds of them. at the very begginig chopper asks "hey kid, did u hear that song?" but i dont know if yes or no leads to the airport mission.
i played AC5 over and over and over and over again, until one day i fcked up....
what did i do? when i tried to load a saved file, i accidentally click on SAVE, and overwrite my only saved file with all the planes unlock. i was so pissed, i was about to cry lol

I don"t know about most of you fans but i was in the marines and the F-4 was a carrier based aircraft ,yet AC5 won't allow it which kinda of bummed me out .AC4 did allow F-4 carrier launches,so W.T.F?,happened ?
dude, the F-4E I AND F-4E II were carrier based aircraft that flew in the late 60's. The types of Phantoms Namco used different versions of the F-4....Like the F-4X, F-4G. The reason? The planes became to heavy to stay on an aircraft carrier
Only at the beginning of level 27 can you launch any aircraft from the carrier. Otherwise you have to use carrier-based aircraft when starting from the Kestrel. GAT818 had a good point though, the 1st mission as mobius 1 from AC4 launches you from a carrier in a F4.
@GAT818 I believe the Phantom that is used in the game is based on the variant that was used by the AF, not the Navy or Marines. That would explain why you couldn't select it for carrier launches.
I think it's way better to make a game about modern war in a fantasy world. Avoid all the messy politics that could make players fail to see the true point of the story and end up all stuck on "MY COUNTRY IS BETTER THAN YOUR COUNTRY".

its always been on the playstation system and when microsoft offered namco exclusivity on the xbox they took it and abandoned sony but they made a loss on the xbox. i heard they were going to scrap the whole ace combat series but i hope it comes back to sony where it belonged in the first place!
They should charge 200-400 MS points for buying more usable aircraft than the measley 15 in AC6, instead of for those paintjobs, most of which are gay anime girl colours anyway. Better yet, make them free. They shoulda been there in the first place. AC5 had almost 60 planes FFS.

I know, that is why AC5 is my fav AC game and not 6. It is pretty close thought. I love the story and detail for AC6, and i love how they returned to the "one plane has 3 payloads" thing, but compared to AC5, It is WAY too short and has WAY too few planes. (Also, I like the story for AC5 better 2, and your AWACS commander is pretty cool!!)
I'm sorry but I find the AWACS guy to be a bit of a jerk at times, I prefer the AWACS from AC4, SkyEye, over Thunderhead. However GhostEye from AC6 is the worst of them all.
to specterseal, i did finish the game. ive played ac4, ac5, ac0, and acX. i knew you had to shoot him down. and pixy wasnt really evil, he fought for wat he believed in much like Demon Lord did though theyre both mercenaries. what i wanted to say b4 was that he was cooler than other wingmen, not to mention the adfx- 02 morgan which is the enemy plane that cant be unlocked
in my opinion ace combat zero was the best ace combat ever, because: 1) your name is known as Demon Lord (gotta love that name) 2) great difficulty ( pretty bitchy at times too) 3) Solo Wing Pixy (by far the best wing man ever). dont get me wrong i love ac5 but i think i like ac zero better
ace combat for the win, gotta love that game. not that many aircraft games are available and ace combat made sure that the series is unparalleled in awesomeness, epicness, story, planes, and action
5, because the story actually brings in three countries, belka, yuktobania and osea, plus the music owns i've got ace combat 6 and i like it but its just too short.

you have to go back to the campaign mode and buy planes, then save, then you can use the bought planes in the mission select.

They should charge 200-400 MS points for buying more usable aircraft than the measley 15 in AC6, instead of for those paintjobs, most of which are gay anime girl colours anyway. Better yet, make them free. They shoulda been there in the first place. AC5 had almost 60 planes FFS.

seriously atleast w/ AC5 you got more of a selection and the paint jobs should come with the game not be downloadable cuz i want the razgriz paint for AC6 but i dont have what i need to get on Xbox LIVE

I know, that is why AC5 is my fav AC game and not 6. It is pretty close thought. I love the story and detail for AC6, and i love how they returned to the "one plane has 3 payloads" thing, but compared to AC5, It is WAY too short and has WAY too few planes. (Also, I like the story for AC5 better 2, and your AWACS commander is pretty cool!!)

I'm sorry but I find the AWACS guy to be a bit of a jerk at times, I prefer the AWACS from AC4, SkyEye, over Thunderhead. However GhostEye from AC6 is the worst of them all.

to specterseal, i did finish the game. ive played ac4, ac5, ac0, and acX. i knew you had to shoot him down. and pixy wasnt really evil, he fought for wat he believed in much like Demon Lord did though theyre both mercenaries. what i wanted to say b4 was that he was cooler than other wingmen, not to mention the adfx- 02 morgan which is the enemy plane that cant be unlocked

in my opinion ace combat zero was the best ace combat ever, because: 1) your name is known as Demon Lord (gotta love that name) 2) great difficulty ( pretty bitchy at times too) 3) Solo Wing Pixy (by far the best wing man ever). dont get me wrong i love ac5 but i think i like ac zero better

5, because the story actually brings in three countries, belka, yuktobania and osea, plus the music owns i've got ace combat 6 and i like it but its just too short.
