  • Lol. I remember that Tomas Enge in F3000 had a similar 180 degree spin out of that corner and thrown the wheel to to the right while going backwards, so that he made another 180 degree turn and got the car pointing in the right direction again and could continue the race.

Eventually he finished fourth after a trip through a gravel when he on the last lap tried to pass Ricardo Sperafico for third, on the outside of a corner and went wide slightly.

  • nigger

  • Remove that fucking high kerbs, goddammit... Thank God they aren't that high nowadays..

  • Hakkinen is probably the best Finnish formula driver in F1. I noted that because I am Finnish... and he made Finland sort of famous to the world. ;)

  • @iGamingRecon Well man hasnt to be finish to say Mika is the best F1 driver of all times :0 hereally is

  • @Cassnet Yeah. Too bad Raikkönen does not race in F1 anymore, but instead in rally. I wish he'd return to F1 sometime soon.

  • @iGamingRecon

Looks like you could be in luck.

  • @TrenosUK Yup, he's negotiating to be in Williams or Mclaren, as far as I know...

  • @iGamingRecon Kimi just signed for Renault (now Lotus Renault due to Lotus Cars' involvement).

  • @iGamingRecon Next year for Lotus (formerly Renault) he is.

  • might have been better to put up his heaviest crash, if that is your aim, in i think Adelaide or so, Australie for sure, he was carried away.

  • Lol

  • was this at hockenheim?

  • @NesoDomino it was in estoril

  • @pirkka13 Thank you! The pit exit looked like the the one in Hockenheim ^^ But I am so young that I can't know that :P

  • @NesoDomino lol

  • lol

  • @pirkka13 No, this is Hockenheim, the Estoril pit exit in 1994 was nothing like this. Not even nowadays, as a matter of fact...

  • He raised his hand to signal to the other drivers and to the track marshalls.

  • @coldtyre to signal what?

  • to signal that he is ok, I think

  • Mika's '95 accident in Adelaide was at the fast right-hander linking the Jones and brabham straights, at around 140mph. the injuries were so severe a traceotemy had to be carried out to help him breathe (cut open throat to make air-way).

These injuries were due to a high impact speed, a sideways impact into a wall with just 1 layer of tyres and lack of the side protection and HANS device they use today. In his next race, he qualified 5th...

  • Adelaide had those high curbs too, thinking it would stop cars from cutting the chicane or stop people when they spin. It launched the car off the ground. I just keep thinking that if the curb was flat and he never launched he would of been in much better condition as he would of slowed down quicker.

  • Mika is a great driver and a classy guy. Thank god he lived to be the champ.

  • hakkinen had several serious accidents in his career, mclaren had a good chasis at that time, maybe a little bit impulsive?

  • Lot of luck involved i bet, senna died cause a wheel impacted on his head.

  • actually the suspension of his car killed him

  • ACTUALLY there were 3 injuries that could have killed him. All 3 at once left no chance for survival.

  • why does he put up his arm?

  • to say hes ok

  • or that he need fast help...

  • either checking if it still worked or calling for the marshals.

  • say thats he's ok

  • Yes he's ok. He went on to be a double World Champion.

  • do somebody saw the 2000 hockenheim practice where hakkinen sidepod exploded? i didnt and i want :(

  • @Miskojones it was i believe the 1999 race at hochenheim when the left rear tyre exploded..hope it helps (in practice the same year, the tyre of david coulthard blew up)

  • @valadiati nope m8, im talking of a different thing...

i meant the radiator exploded destroying all the sidepod... it was practice hockenheim 2000, for sure... thx anyway :)

  • what the fuck are you talking about

  • TBH his crash was crashed because he did crash at spa 1996 and had the crash been clean he would have crashed formula 1 drivers at estoril.

    Getmi blud?

  • i have the aswer in the qualif at Hockenheim !

  • didn't he had his worst crash in monaco?

  • Hakkinen crashed in austrailia in 95 and had to be revived, his "worst" crash was there, had a big scare in germany in 2000 i belive but never contacted anything heavily but none the less was a 200 mph crash.

  • almost correct. he had a big crash at the hockenhiem ring in 99 when his tyre delaminated at over 200mph. very close.

  • no,that it was Karl Wendlinger, very bad crash in monaco grand prix 1995, i believe, with the Sauber

  • karl wendlinger's accident was in 1994, youre right that he did drive for sauber

  • yes, in 1994, right.

  • Look how high up hes head is, compare it to nowdays formula 1, the drivers heads are in much safer place, stupid safety at that time.

  • its all 4 the senna-esque style excitement in the sport...cant blame FIA 4 killing more lives 4 better excitement last time...now F1 is bunch of snooze fest but i will still take driver safety over excitement any day haha

  • go drive on a wall then, i'll be excited

  • Never get it.... people who have brain damage after crash normally stop, this shows great determination, bravo Mika!

  • i remember that, he is exiting the first corner at hockeneim

  • He speaks differentely because of half paralyzed face. But still his speech is ok. And he didnt lost a part of his tongue.

  • Not true.. He crashed in 1995 and had severe head injuries, and he never fully recovered. His speech was affected the most. He stutters and speaks slower than he did before.

  • Stuttering and slower speaking are a merely physical consequence of the wreck I hope.

His brain did recover perfectly, did it??

  • Well mentally it did recover. However the brain is in charge of speech aswell, and that part probably got damaged.

  • Well, great revenge against unfortunate racing event:2 times world champion - and Mc Laren

team did wait for him to full recover and gave him a winning car backing him on both sides prof.and pers.I guess= Fine behaviour, not so common...

  • he did??. I never knew this about miki hakkinen. what track was crash. was it that adelaide one??

  • Yeah it was. The one with the onboardcamera and extreme headmovement. I live in Finland, so I remember how it was all over the news. They even published exclusive photos of his face.. He was bleeding from his mouth, nose and ears.

  • yea yea I remember that. it was verry bad :\ . whoa verry cool! . must suck having your picture taken after a hard shunt into tires not a kodak moment :\ . but that is scary cus if your bleeding from ears could be serious. people might have thought he dead :\

  • This wasn't the crash of Hakkinen in Adelaide.

It looks like this was in Hockenheim (1994).
