I didn't buy that black 88 XR directly from Mark, it traded hands a few times before I ended up with it. Its been wrecked (twice) and the passenger side rockers rusted out so bad you could pull up the carpet and look straight to the ground! Its merely parts now unfortunately :(

Ever seance i started putting my xr4ti back together i've wanted to go to this. Once my sisters xr4ti and my dads SVO are rebuild we are SOOOO going.... No excuses i dont care if we need to rent a truck to cary all are spare parts.

Think we had 3 or 4 breakdowns en route - but remember some of these guys started in CA and TX heading to PA!

How many broke on route? I am thinking of going with my 86 next year about 300 miles, i love my XR4TI but things break on it when it is just sitting in the garage.

This is kick ass, my father worked for Ford back in the 80's and had three or four different XR4Ti's as company cars.

He preferred them over the Mustangs.

@turboflush1 In 2005 the convoy started in California and picked up people along the way all the way into Pennsylvainia.

I wish my XR had cruise control. No way I could make that trek across the entire US without it. I'd really like to take it to Carlisle someday.
