  • Anyone can have a mental illness except mental health professionals because their degree confers them with IMMUNITY so FUNNY dermatologists who are REAL doctors never imply their degree immunizes them from sunburn or wasp sting. "Mental health professional" is the modern terminology for "witchfinder/Inquisitor" they are in bed with Big Pharma. Cut off all tax funding for NIMH get psychiatry OUT of courtrooms & classrooms & churches and into toxic radioactive waste dump at Yucca Mountain Nevada

  • Hmm. Answer seems pretty easy to me. Get back on the Prozac darlin'... At least go see a psychiatrist rather than GP.

  • lol...its called variable. Can u protect your family from getting struck by lightning? Also, micrscopic organisms live on your scalp, skin, and eyebrows...they are beneficial and you cant rid yourself of them. Bacteria lives in your reproductive organs, colon, nostrils, and mouth...you cant get rid of them either without dying. Oh...by the way, as soon as you clean the surfaces in your house, new bacteria lands on them and reproduce. Molds, funguses, and bacteria are in the air you breath.

  • omg, i COMPLETELY know how you feel.

i TOO, open and close doors and windows, multiple times.

i DONT clean obsessively, but im CONSTANTLY doing EVERYTHING an even number of times.

this truly IS a VERY serious disorder.

im only 16, but, ive had ocd for as long as i can remember.

  • I started showing symptoms for OCD and Bipolar disorder when I was eight. I got a good therapist and good prescriptions, and now I'm decently fine. The trick is to never STOP taking your meds, because it's not a disease. It's a chemical off balance. Unless you can work through it, which is really, really challenging.

  • i hate people who think ocd is just compulsions like washing your hands, it can also be narcolepsy, intrusive thoughts and OBSESSIONS,

trust me, i know and im only 14

  • Do you have OCD?

  • I must admit that I do often use my sleeve or toilet paper to open doors at public toilets and I will never use my hand to flush a toilet, especially a public toilet, or on a train or plane whilst flying, even the door lock! - Now is this OCD or just a habit?

Sorry - Just realised you have not enabled comments!

  • i don't think you have OCD but you may get it though, if you're not careful, but i think if its just for public restrooms than its fine, but if you're stressing over locked doors then u MAY have a problem im not saying you do im saying that you MIGHT, so if its just public restrooms thats ok, because public restrooms are gross!!

  • Where's Chandler?

  • Hey, I have been living with OCD forever and when I was 11 I was hopsitalized for a eating disorder due to my OCD. I to am taking prozac, stay on it and do to a therapist those are the two main things that helped me. Good Luck!

  • this video almost made me cry. im 22 and i've been battling OCD since i was a young girl. mine is mostly hereditary, i got it from my dad (who is in denial that he even has it). i just recently started to get help for it. i have a problem with hand washing, and RINSING! soap has to be rinsed off completely for me. i have other weird thoughts/behaviors, but this is a serious condition and some people dont realize how devestating it is.

  • I have degree of Aspergers that is a neurobiological condtion (runs under autistic spectrum). I've had a history settlement of OCD and I was wondering if it is related to AS? People with OCD, Apsergers are more prone to depression and anxiety like me. Long onto my channel to see "In My Mind depression aspergers & Lonelines. My OCD has moderated but I know people who WONT bath without having a shower prior, otherwise bathing is considered dirty. Do you go straight into bath without a shower B4?

  • I don't have OCD but i think nearly everyone has experienced a moment of compulsive behaviour in their life, where you consciously act against your will/opinion to evade an uncomfortable emotion.

I haven't studied the subject in detail but from my own experience i'd say that it intersects with the issue of self-control (the mind turning on itself). Meditation might offer a long term solution.

This video describes the issue nicely imo:

  • aww babes my hert gos out to u xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • your condition is pritty serious to be honest, but I do believe if you take little steps on controlling your obsession you will eventualy climb a big mountain!! Be strong and dont give up, try different medications, and keep trying until something works, it will!!

  • Hiya, I´ve been living with this for 13 years, and I´ve tried all the medicines, now I consider that I am healthy. My story is very bad. But, IS POSSIBLE TO COPE AND TO BE HEALTHY AGAIN. Now I consider OCD is just a name and my life is normal. Is difficult to say how to deal with this but I consider every story is not different. If you want to know how I deal with this text me.

  • I have OCD, and just whenever you think ur getting better it just slips back into ur life. It is a terrible thing and should be taken seriously.

  • Very good job.

Did you also do a video about Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder?

  • No, I did not; it is harder to capture on 'video' - my sister is on medication, therapy.. everything... I live with OCPD, and there are not effective treatments.

  • I have it too. I have to touch almost everything twice and count my steps when I walk on hardwood.

  • I have OCD and I'm 14.

It's nothing like this, though. I'm not an obbesive cleaner.

It's more like the little things that bug me. For example, my room could be a total mess, but as long as all the drawers and closet is closed with nothing sticking out of it, then that's fine. Also, I have to step with the exact same number on each foot, but I don't "crash on the floor while cleaning."

  • :o i have ocd and thats exactly what im like too. my room is a complete mess but i can't sleep unless my closet door is closed all the way and i do the foot thing too.

  • i have ocd and it is driving me crazy, from having to touch wood three times if its near me, to blessing myself if i think of sumin bad, to having to scratch my body over the same place on the opposite side or il feel i have bad luck

  • Ahm

    OCD is serious

    But i don't think your name's Monica Geller-Bing

  • I know that OCD is something serious

But WHY the "Monica Geller-Bing" at the end? WTF?

  • Please understand, that this was for demonstration purposes only; I have OCD, so does my sister, but the video is not a reflection of everything I have, but a combination of what my sister and I have - I did not want to use my own name. I hope you understand.

  • why does that matter? the fact she used that name? dont be so obsessive.

  • I have OCD. and my OCD isn't related as such to cleaning. mainly control and checking.

All aspects of OCD need to be seen coz people don't understand.

  • dude ur not monica geller bing thats monica of friends lol

  • PURE DREAM!!!! God what I would give to marry an OCD broad that is obsessed with cleaning and scrubbing. Is cooking part of it? WOW!!! It's like GOD actually exists and put his will square upon a woman. Cleaning, scrubbing... this isn't a disease, this is GOD'S BLESSING!!!!

  • i have ocd,

its weird but my major problem is that i would imagine losing all the thoughts i have of all the things i loved and enjoyed

imagine not feeling emotion when your child is born or you get married

  • i dunno if i have this disorder, but i do have one problem which is affecting my entire life. And this isnt a joke...

I feel as if i have damaged my brain from masturbation, and everyday i always think this, and i feel boiling hot, racing heart beat, tired, exhausted...

  • I think I have this.

Each time I take out a glass of the cupboard I blow in it before I drink out of it.

And when I shower I always check if there's worms coming out from the sewers... and I wash my hands for 40 mins

  • i don't have OCD but i think my aunty does.she cleans the house spotless, intrusive on our privacy at home, has hidden recorder around the house, obsessed with taking over on my grandparents house, puts objects in order in a particular way;fear that they might get hurt.she is always stressed out,we can't even have a private conversation with grandma and she has as son who is 22 whom she babies a lot.she doesn't want him to get a job. i have more to say but i'm running out of character count.

  • i have ocd, ya im scared of getting sick and ill freak out. i also worry alot, and dont like germs. that why my name is germx on youtube it is my nick name.

  • i have the OCD in which pictures , words or images "pop" into the head and won't go away which are usually of a disturbing nature and in which there are nonsensical words or phrases repeating themselves in the person's mind which are the "what if's"....

  • thats kinda how my dad is he has to go in the house two or three times and "check" it. its hard to live with

  • i have it but i can touch doorknobs and shake peoples hands unlike the typical stereotype

  • Hmm....now i believe i too have ocd. I have a messy room and can clean pet cages with out gloves, but when i touch a wall i need to wash my hands. I can't touch shoes with my hands, i don't like going out in public, my room is not neat..i procrastinate too. Depression runs with OCD, and i don't really like to leave me home because i'm exposed to so much. Derpression runs along with OCD- it is a cause as to why people get depressed, so that contributes to the lack of motivation and not caring.

  • i have ocd as well im not well around germs that's why my name is germ x lol. ya all the ppl who have this, try to be as strong as u possibly can. in your mind y know it is our ocd that is only affecting u, and u can fight it with love and in your mind.

  • obssesive cleaning is a big part of ocd.

but not the only thing. least some of you are blessed with fancy homes what about those wgo have to live in a war zone with the worst ocd and not getting the help you need. so count your blessings

  • I go nearly crazy if something isn't angled perfectly or if something dirty or uneven with me. My parents started scolding me about my usage of water (they don't believe that I have OCD. -.-)

I'm just glad that it's not so bad on some days. The depression is the worst part, won't you agree?

  • Yeah, it's Hell, having OCD. I hate scolding my friends and family to hit me "evenly" when they playfully or accidentally hit me on one side. Eating gets difficult sometimes because the bites and ammount of food MUST be even. I even scratch evenly on both sides!

Being clean sucks as well. Nothing is EVER "too" clean. I always end up cleaning nonstop. Plus there's this constant checking of the refridgerator.

Violent and sexual thoughts plague my thoughts nonstop. It's driving me insane!

  • I think i've had a few "rituals" but really small ones, i would have to say to my mother" good night, sleep tight, sweet dreams, see you tommorow" before i went to bed, or else i would be afraid something would happen to her. But recently...I've been struggling with HOCD and it's a really fucking nasty piece of shit.

  • Before every night i had to check everything. Like Everything. I check doors, chairs, windows, and more. I got so fustrated I forced myself not to do any of it and sleep. First day i was restless but i feel asleep eventually. I kept doing that until I was comforable.

  • Although this video is intuitive as said before, there is nothing more frustrating than hear somebody say "i know what ocd is, its when you're scared of germs and clean everything". This could not be further from the truth, and while this may be part of the problem for some people, the part I suffer with is thought intrusion - which never seems to be covered in informational media.

  • i have the thought intrusions aswel

  • Amen. I have a very severe case of OCD, and I am a slob. =/

  • hey, i hav ocd too, but i think the best way to get rid of it is to to make a decision that comewhat may i am not going to do certain cumpulsion, u will hav fear that the decision i am making might be wrong but u decide that i am commiting suicide, and my decision is not going to change, i feel thats the only way out,i may harmed but there is no other way so continue with it, and practice it.

  • Bet you could eat off the toilet seat in that house!

  • My problem is exactly the opposite!

    I never clean anything...

  • not sure it its amy poehler or tina fey, but you loook like one of them.

  • very informative..... You look like Tina Fey!

  • I have OCD, and while my things are different, I can totally understand where you're coming from and I understand about the locking and checking doors and such. I am on zoloft and I do have my good and bad days as I'm sure you do as well. Thanks for posting this video, a lot of us out here really appreciate it.

  • wow as weird as this would sound seeing that people like her are in so much pain I would KILL to be in that position. Because I am the exact OPPOSITE.

    I'm DISORGANIZED and I PROCRASTINATE.

It's ruining my life and making me depressed.

Doesn't sound like a big deal huh?

You should see my room, along with my grades.

  • its very hard to live with ocd

  • I am reading this book called "Kissing Doorknobs", and it's about this girl with servere OCD problems, and shes had them for 4 years and she's trying to over come them. great book

  • Hello I do have OCD too!!! Some of my symtoms are touching things, taking baths, and washing my hands too. Please, Email me back soon. Thank you so, much. And my name is MacKenzie Austin Swart. I hope you can control your symtoms. I can tell you are a great person. So like I ask you please Email me back. And by the way I am diegnosed with: OCD,Autism,Tourettes, and PDD. Thank you! Bye!

  • Well, I personally have had OCD for about 4 years now. Yet, I have found a way to live a almost normal life with it, keeping it under control. In your case you need to remember this saying: "The idle mind is the devil's workshop." Not in a religious way of course, but in a general sense. You have anxiety, and it needs to go somewhere. GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE when your family is not home and do something you enjoy or get a job...and hire a cleaning person...you don't want to relapse.

  • monica geller-bing.... someone is OBSESSED with friends i get it obsessed :o)

  • I find the OCD i have to be so annoying.

I have what people call the "magic" OCD because i beleive in stupid things like everything has to be in fours and 8 is a lucky number because it means infinity. I wish there was a way to get rid of it without the use of drugs.

  • LOL omg. Not that this is funny, but i have that exact same counting routine.

  • damn I usually say smart ass remarks but that is messed up sorry to hear :(

  • i have ocd

  • I have ocd, but it isn't for washing. It makes me feel strange sometimes, because my ocd wasn't hand washing and people tend to assume that's what it is. I was lucky and got put on the fluxotine.

  • I have this.

  • Once again, thank you to you and all others who make this public. I also want to wish all others with OCD the best of luck and hope you manage to deal with this.

  • Thank you for opsting this, I was in tears near the end. I have OCD as well, and I am obsessed with bad thoughts. I have thought that I am a racist, a paedophile, that I am schizoprehnic, bi-polar, insane. I have also worried that I don't have emotion, or that I don't love my family, and I also have thoughts which are not necessarily bad, but constantly recurring, and I have noticed that it cuts into my life. I am awaiting an appointment with a doctor and I advise others to do the same.

  • Is there a way that we can email one another through youtube?

I have OCD and I have taught myself some techniques on how to fight OCD and I would LOVE to share it with others. :-)

  • wow ur like me im cryin I must admit i use alot of Drugs to Cope P.S never give up xoxo

  • i think i have ocd , im not sure , it might be minor

  • hi hola mi nombre es jorge reynoso ya llevo 4 años con el toc o ocd ahora me estoy medicando y me va bien,si alguien quiere compartir sus problemas puede escribirme ,derrepente nos podemos ayudar

  • Translating to the best of my ability:

Hello my name is Jorge Reynoso I've had OCD for four years and today I am on medication and its going very good. If anyone would like to talk about there problems you can write to me so I can help.

  • This is awful, i suffer from o.c.d but mine has turned from a touching things cleaning things etc to a total mind thing, making thought feel 'right' by rethinking them in my head untill that illusive feeling seems to be the comulsion that helps them.. I'm taking theropy but it isn't helping i myself feel low, depressed and feel anxiety all the time. I seriouslly don't know what to do. If anybody who reads this can help or knows who can help please let me know. Thanks.

  • Hey I have OCD as well and I HATE it to death. It can REALLY turn someones life upside down. My OCD always comes and goes. I taught myself some ways to fight it though I don't always win.

    1) Picture yourself on a highway and pretend your baseball cap or something important falls out of the car. No matter how many times you want to go back and pick it up you can't because there are cars all over the highway. That's what you have to do with the OCD.

  • 2) I use to have OCD when I would throw out my finished cigarette on the ground in the street that go-d forbid it would start a fire. I taught myself to get over it by telling myself wait a minute it's been already 2 years and my cigarette never started a fire and I thought to myself how often have i read in the paper that a cigarette started a fire in the middle of the street? Well very seldom. The trick is to reason with the stupid ocd.

  • I was doing exactly this. I took a Mindfulness meditation course and found it very useful for these symptoms.

  • everytime when a thought pops into ur mind..just scream /say stop!if u think it will look silly...wear earphones...people will think u r talking to someone...

why dont u join a meditation group...it helps..

  • My OCD is now less about touch and retouch and retraced footsteps and flipping light switches. My OCD is a carnival of mental gymnastics to defuse and sugar coat intrusive thoughts. No haunted house in literature is as haunted as the inside of an OCD head. I replace the inside of my head with increased interaction outside my head, connecting with people, forcing it till I feel it. Creative outlets help. I change my anxieties into ghosts and goblins in horror stories, though I've yet to publish.

  • I have ocd for 7 years now .However , i think that it is over now just pm me and describe it i started with touching stuff and washing my hands constantly !

  • i have ocd aswell but its very minor.

  • I have it. It's horrible, very major. But I don't need theorpy :P

  • hi. i am first watching this video. a suggestion for you: why not set your alarm clock an hour before waking up and get ready for a job interview? :0) i have odc, but its nothing major.

  • Monica

    Geller-

    Bing?

    That's from Friends !!

  • are you serious? I think I need your OCD because I barely clean my house.

  • I have partial OCD, I'm in control most of the time but occasionally I check things like a million times it seems to my sister, she gets annoyed of it sometimes

  • Did you say your name was

    Moncia

    Geller

    Bing?

    Isn't that from Friends?

  • Yes, I 'borrowed' the name, since she is a character that most of us know and on some level can relate to as well. This is a video presentation for my class. I do not have all the compulsions, but in the video I demonstrated the compulsions of various people, to show how awful it can be/get.

    Thanks for your interest.

  • ok.... is this video for real? because... monica geller bing? i mean... anyone?

  • Yes, how weird.

Chandler Bing's wife on tv show "friends".

    How does it relate?

  • Please tell me if I am already sick and if somehow I can prevent this from getting worse. Thank you and all people there, hang up! I will pray for you

  • inue to do what I did. At that very moment I was really blocked of fear that if I just don't turn right back that something really bad (non defined though) will happen. It only happend 5-6 times in couple of years. Sometimes this wouldn't come back long enough so I would practically forget about it but when it occured again there were no mistake it wes the same blocking fear that made me do "turning-back" mouvment after wich I would feel somehow better but still worried and scared. Plese tell me

  • I hava had a couple of times a strange feeling when I was cleaning the house and running all over tha place where I realised that I am just running around and not being concentrated on my work so I only make mess and that I won't be able to finish my work. The feeling vas kind anwiety and suddenly I turned arround wanted to go back in room but changed my mind and trun again so I made like a circle 360' and suddenly stopped and had strong emotion of fear if not turning right back so I could conti

  • Read this book: "Mental Disorders & Spiritual Healing: Teachings from the Early Christian East", by Jean-Claude Larchet

  • Well, that's a little dramatic. But I for def know the feeling. I used to be a lot worse with like, counting and not being able to leave a room until I had like, made sure the door was shut a bunch of times or keep touching the light switch until I felt like it was okay.

I think as I got older and like, forced myself to just walk away it got better.

I don't know if I actually have OCD or if those were random compulsions but, if that's what OCD is like full-blown I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

  • come clean my house ?

  • I've OCD...and my life has been shitty!

  • If you have OCD, you really should tell someone. OCD is a disorder that gets worse over time and stems from anxiety. But let me warn you, therapists often prescribe medicine to help people cope with OCD, like mine did. But I strongly recommend against this. I developed severe anxiety attacks and severe clinical depression as a result of taking drugs. Cognative Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a drug-free solution to OCD. Many therapists use this. I feel great because of CBT, my OCD is much better.

  • i feel really bad for you.

I have OCD also i hate it so much...my ocd isn't too bad. but its still hard, i just found out i had ocd from my friend patrick. He noticed me tapping my pencil several times.

I cant stand having ocd. Gl with your life woneca i feel your pain just not as bad :(

  • i have OCD also. I just found out 4 days ago.

I am still very confused about this disorder

but i still dont have it too bad.

My problem is whenever i touch something i have the feeling to keep touching it over and over again. and if i touch a book i have to touch it with my other hand over and over again ahhh doing it right now!

  • I have an even huger OCD problem i keep cleaning, it feels like im going mad and its just about taking over my life.

  • I have a even huger OCD i keep cleaning and i cant help it. Its starting to affect my life.

  • Poor woman! I really think I have a mild form of OCD. I always have to line things up so they are even, and I need things to be symmetrical or else I feel unnerved. I also repeatedly check the door and stove. I hope I never get as bad as this lady!

  • yea..this might sound weird but mine isnt to bad idk if i have it but when ever somone counts and they stop at a odd number or like 53 or 54..i tell them to finish at 55 or 60 lol

  • i have this too.. it's been developing slowly for the last 3 or 4 years and now i'm 16..

it takes hours of free time out of my day. i clean my room everyday. even when it's clean. sometimes i take everything out of my room then put it back in my room in a certain order.

  • she has the same name as the girl from friends...

  • This video gives a really good example of what OCD is like.

  • My life is ruined.

  • i had this for about 2 and a half years starting in 5th grade. At first it started with a worrying problem. it made my life miserable but I got through it by praying and just by having support by my parents. i'm now a sophomore in high school and am symptom free.

  • wow very touching. check out our video!

  • I hate white/black boards.

    Teachers never erase them completely.

    It drives me nuts.

    It's somewhat OCD.

  • CheckViz tell someone it helps ALOT it would also explain alot to everyone. I am thirteen and for 3 years i didnt tell anyone my parents guessedand now its managble and i hhardly notice i have it.

  • I am 14 and also have OCD. Although I am now taking anti-depressants to reduce my compulsions I know how it feels like. I feel all of your pain.

  • Today was shocking for me...

I saw an OCD video at health today during school and it reminded me of how i behaved as a kid. So I went to the teacher and talked about how i was behaving as a child and it turned out i somewhat had OCD when I was just a little kid. Lock doors a million times, and i sit on the edge of my chair making the back legs of the chair off of the floor and when i put it down i thought i hit something and go back up and down etc. I feel hurt that nobody told me :(

  • Good video, but why does it say Monica Geller-Bing at the end? Reference to "Friends"?

  • Monica Geller-Bing is a character from friends

  • Make your husband really happy and open a house cleaning service.

  • Now that made me almost want to cry-when she kept saying that she couldn't stop. Tell me about the "making sure the doors are locked" thing. I wonder if OCD could be a defense mechanism. If maybe certain bad things happened in that person's past, and then they developed rituals to try to feel like they had some control over what bad things happened to them and which didn't.

  • You are very intuitive - this video was created for a class, so not all the compulsions you see are what I have (I do have some), but my sister has most, if not all of them, and she has been through a lot in her past - so you are really on to something.... good job!

  • Thanks ! Good job on your video!!! It's very well done!!

  • My friend has some serious fucking problems with OCD. Serious problems. He knows what he is doing is irrational, but he still can't help it. Do you have any tips on how I can help him?

  • gmussina, me too! stupid MTV. they should have warned us! grrr now i blink my eyes really hard and move my hands back and forth a lot and, when i write, i go over the words agin and again and again. It's sad.

  • WOW! I thought i only did that! squinting..sooo much!! espec if i drink!i will go over a letter until it "feels right" when im writting something....before i know it a letter or essay i wrote will be full of several letters that are really dark on the paper. it is usually the same letters all the time! (r,s,w,m,e.5, 8, 3) or i will erase them a nd rewrite then till it looks.feels good! ggrrrr i hate that i do this, but i am glad it is not only me! at least i think think is what you mean....

  • OMG, I do that. Wow; hello. Thanks. Do you have constant head nodding too?

  • i to have a huge ocd problem that is really hard to deal with. if you have ever seen the show monk, i'm a little bit like him. everytime my mom sees me do something weird like that like cleaning random things, she'll call me monk... its kinda funny though

  • me to im relly bad with my ocd i have docters on my case all the time

  • I have mild OCD. It started when I was 5 years old. It currently affects my relationships with those I love. But I can't help it.

I cannot even imagine what it's like for you. Best wishes...........

  • I have mild OCD as well. For me though, it started when I was 8 years old. I am now 13, and I don't talk to my parents about it. They don't take it seriously, and since it is mild, I don't think they should. I hide the fact from them, that my hands bleed since I wash them so much, and I close my closet doors 6 times every morning so that they aren't opened when I go to school. If they are, something bad might happen to my brother. I also am scared of the upper-corners of my room :( It's so hard.

  • what was your medication called love?!!!(i realy feel for you because i know how it feels....please jus tell urself to stop and that evrything will be ok if u stop what u overdo!xxx

  • omg...i ahev exactly the same problem!....ur not alone!....i have ocd aswel and it realy buging me...im alway luking at the bak of doors and stuff to see if any1 is there and if any1 is in my house!...i also check windows, dorrs and closets to make sure there shut and locked ..because im scared if any1 gets in! xxx.....I FEEL THE SAME WAY...UR NOT ALONE!

  • I have OCD and the public at large, therapist have no idea just how severe it can be.

  • you can get rid of ocd. i used to have ocd but now i don't. trust me. it can go away.

  • Don't worry monica atleast your not as bad as me, i'am 16 now and i have had obsessive compulsive disorder since i was 5. I have not told anyone yet and i still can not find the gut to tell them. I have this feeling that its gonna become a real big deal and everyone in my family is gonna find out and laugh about it.

  • I'am 16 years old and i have had this disorder since i was 5.. Should i tell someone i have this disorder so i can go see a therapist? i can find enough gut, can i have some advice pl0x?

  • Yes, you should man. I have the disorder to it's wise to visit a therapist, they help out a lot. By the way you don't have to take medication, there are other ways of controlling OCD.

  • You're right, Behavioural Therapy is effective as well. I am currently awaiting treatment and I recommend you tell someone CheckViz, maybe a parent or friend. Even ask them to come with you to the doctor (my mum came with me and her support meant a lot).

  • I'm a psychology major and as such, I would encourage you to seek for help while you're still young. Never be embarrassed about your condition. After all, you didn't choose to go through this. I have been there before. I have fought that fight. There is a way out. But don't let it grow too late. Don't wait till you get to the point where you will start to hate life before you can get help. Your true friends and family can be a great source of comfort and help. All the best to you.

  • OCD, Panic Attacks, Phobias...ANXIETY!

    They all stem from anxiety.

    I recommend everyone check out

    The Linden Method.

    It's beautiful.

  • i suffer too, just like you two things that i come to really on is to be brave and be busy with what matters. im not a doctor i believe medication is a great supplement towards curing you disorder. whatever the case, make sure you alert your doctor about going on or off a medication. dare yourself to be happy :) life is not easy for anyone but its gets better.

  • i dont think i have severe ocd like her, but i do perform some rituals and check a billion times if i turned off lights and living with the parents i have, i tend to do that a lot because they're sloppy

  • I will scratch my head with my right hand, and then scratch the same spot or the same spot on the opposite side of my head with my left hand. Then after that I will do the same thing on both even sides of my head with both my hands at the exact same time so one is not before or after the other. Another thing is I wash my hands way too much, and I smell them constantly, then I smell my computer mouse to make sure it didn't smell bad. It makes my hands crack and bleed really bad.

  • I too have been suffering from this for over 3 years, I just learned about it. Its very hard to focus on anything when ocd clicks in, but I have always been fighting it. Its a very hard struggle, and its very bad for us.

  • I have a friend who has obsessive compulsive disorder. He trys to call me ALL the Damn time, and if I dont answer the phone he will call call and call until I answer and then he would apoligize. but hes been like that FOREVER since Ive known him, I mean Come` on. sometimes I get annoyed by it especially when he apoligizes but is always the same way .

  • It got real bad after that, I started to avoid stepping on any cracks in the floor, it became very important. 4th grade, I had to look up at the light in the class room, and roll my eyes backwards 7 times in a row constantly. I became obsessed with the number 7. than later, if I were to accidently rub against anything, I would be forced to "un-do it" by rubbing in reverse. So if i bumped into the wall while walking forward, I would have to walk backward and bump into the wall.

  • I am 21 with OCD, i'm almost fully recovered. it started in 3rd grade, when some one asked me a question. I replied "I don't know" I than thought to my self, what if I do know, but can't think of it at the moment, So than I said"at least I think I don't know. through out the day i was asked a few more questions, And i felt that after saying "i don't know" I was required to say "at least i think i don't know" right after.

  • continuosly plan out the next step

in order to achieve certain targets

it's like when someone surrounding me

telling me something essential or non-essential

i have to think further and

eventually thinking out sth nonsense and irrelevant

i just hide myself inside and never tell anybody about my situation

cause i think in asian countries

there are seldom real-life case like mine

sorry about my grammar and stuff

  • I have had OCD for 10 years, it is a pain, i could say worse than cancer, even with that, i got an english certifica, a private pilot certificate, i am supposed to graduate college in ausgust... but i've been taking all stupid drugs doctors gave me, this is pain, if not all day, 90%...

  • I commend you for your honesty. Five years ago I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (the worry disorder). After five years practising techniques I learnt from cognitive behavioural therapy, my worries are under control and my anxiety is within normal ranges. My advice would to consult a psychologist to help you with OCD. Take it one step at a time. You can recover!!!

  • I too have OCD over the years with my struggle with such a condition it has some what evolved with every step I take towards full freedom of this condition. It no longer radiates itself into physical compulsions, but instead manifests itself into ones being and subconscious which can be extremely destructive. Through appreciation of this condition you can harness its' untold abilities which I am currently undergoing. I like to refer to this entity as my dark passenger.

  • holy,i can totally relate to you. I was 1st diognosed with OCD when I was 10,I`m 28 and it has not gotten better.

  • I have ocd, it ruins my life, i feel depressed.

  • I know how you feel, i have had it since i was 5

  • Go to a trained psychologist. I fear that paying isn't going to help you at all.

    Cheers.

  • the thought goes on and on and so her anxiety level increases... to lessen the anxiety, an act should be done and so the continous handwashing (or what so ever acts) lessens this anxiety. first we dwell into the thought, second limit setting.. ex. for this day do 10 handwashings only. ofcourse this cant be achieve if she continue thinking bout the thought causing her anxiety... give other activities that make her forget untowards thought... its hard but its curable.

  • I walk in circles, have these thoughts popping up like: "what would happen if this peson died" or "why do i have to do this if im gonna die?" or I would get these disturbing images in my mind. If I'm imagining something, it will "skip" like a broken record. I have to touch things. If I lose something, it nags at me until I have to drop everything and search my for it. I read that another side effect of OCD is violent outbursts; I get lots of those. I get anxious if things aren't symetrical.

  • its disturbing and horrible, about washing the hands i have to do it three times and if it isnt three times or i touch anything while i'm washing it doesn't work, and i repeat this almost 10 times a day...

  • When I was younger, about 7 maybe? I had to wash my hands ALL the time. And they started to crack and bleed too. My dad has a wierd obsessive problem too. He can't touch or look at buttons on clothing. It makes him want to throw up.

  • I have learned late in life how OCD manifests itself in my mother. The biggest manifest was I am only allowed to vaccum in acertain way that shows that the carpet has those wheel patterns and if the patterens are not the proper way then the whole house has to be vaccuumed again.

  • i have had ocd now for about 6 months. it started after i watched a show on in it on mtv. darn you mtv! but it comes in spurts for me because sometimes i dont have it. i pray every night for it to go away and my ocd even affects me while im praying. but ill pray for you, monica is it? if thats alright with you.

  • Don't diagnose yourself. See a psychologist. The woman in the video sounds like she has a mild case. At least she's able to function in society.

  • For me, it's the fear or smells and odors, Especially strong smells like Axe or body odor. I have to keep my heands clean with Caress soap, the only brand i will use. Sometimes i make sure i close my door perfectly and tap it in a controlled perfect way cause i feel like if i don't do it, i will get cancer or someone will die in my family. It's a strong fear, i know it's irrational, but for gods sake i will only feel better if i do these habits!

  • I have pretty bad OCD but the medication I take really helps. I am also in therapy for it. I don't like how people think it is funny. It's not.

  • i have ocd. i remember washing my hands all day when i was a kid about 9. as i grew up i would have these thoughts flash in my head like i did or would do something bad. they used to make me feel terrible guilt. it was like a torment until i found out about OCD
