  • this was actually the best vid ive seen of this rig...i just ordered it. still have yours? how was the durability?

  • @healonator stilll have mine. picked apart tho. Got a Losi mini rock crawler Pro rolling chassis and put the reciver, esc, weights, battery from my maxstone into that. using a differant motor and fullsize servo in the MRC Pro. The maxstone was really durable i thought. still nothing broke to this day. you do need to locktite the u joints of the driveshafts so they dont back off. and i lubed the differentials and locktited the bevel gear onto the ujoints.

  • @M4A1DUDE i just noticed, maybe you havent, but your vid is the one they use on the exceed website. you must have done something right

  • @healonator Good eye. had no idea. its on NitroRCX website not exceed (unless i missed it). they dont even have the maxstone on exceeds website wierd.

  • What do ya think about wheel speed? (I know how to water-proof an RC vehicle) Let's say I am going through some mud, and I need to open the throttle. What do you think Scale Speed is?

Let alone, what exactly IS the speed of an RC vehicle when the commercials say 100mph SCALE speed? Any clue on any of this?

  • @BubonicPlague88 scale speed is how fast the R/C car is going if it where scaled up to 1:1 scale. so if i take my crawler for example if it was wide open it would be traveling at about 1MPH real speed. but if you where to do scale speed and it was blown up to 1:1 scale it would be about 20MPH. get it?

  • @BubonicPlague88 100/16 = 6.25 mph a 1:16 scale crawler with a scale speed of 100mph does 6.25 mph. This is very simple math and unless you are a 6th grader you should be able to figure this out on your own.

  • How is the incline stall? Does it seem to crawl over rocks and up somewhat steep angles without the rear wheels just locking up? Does that even happen with the Shaft-Driven 4wd? Maybe you might know or could find out for me.

  • i keep seeing people mention this, but what is torque twist?

  • @mhavrilla88 Torque twist applys to shaft driven vehicles. because drive shafts going to the drivetrain to rotate the wheels, and rock crawlers have lots of torque. lets say you are at an incline and are giving it throttle. because the whole drive system is all attached to the motor, transmission, etc. if the wheels have resistance, or have a load on them (like in an incline) the rotation will take the route with the least resistance (motor, transmission end) that end wants to rotate instead.

  • @M4A1DUDE In other words the rear end (common) ends up squatting?

  • @M4A1DUDE In other words the rear end (common) ends up squatting?

  • Can it take a 2s lipo

  • @Zainiak really not sure.

  • @Zainiak it might, because the stock battery is 7.2V & 2s is 7.4V, and most stock setups will have ESC's with max limits slightly higher than the battery & motor they're paired with (I.E. a brushed traxxas slash with an XL5 ESC is supplied with a 7-cell 8.4V but has a 9.6V limit). However Exceed is a bit cheaper than most other brands and some say the stock esc with this kit is crap, so it's unclear.

  • I want to get one. Is it a good first crawler?

  • @krazyawsome I would say so. I just upgraded to a losi mini rock crawler pro kit. Awesome.

  • @krazyawsome eh yea the only bad thing is the torque twist so yea i hope that heelped

  • sweet video. when i get my maxstone 16 I'm going to take a video like yours.

  • Hey, i got the Maxstone 16 a little while ago and everything was running nicely. So as i was was crawling i noticed that the truck was acting up. when you give the truck a little throttle the truck will jump extremely fast in reverse. I know that it isn't me because I've gotten all of my friends to drive it and it just keeps happening. Do u have any idea of what could be wrong or any way i could fix this problem. Thank you.

  • @pritch3b, I bought the 1/16 scale maxstone, and it does this funky shit were it jolts backward wen pullin the triger to go forward... this is very anoying, does this rockcrawler do that?

  • im looking for something that doesnt cost to much to buy and fix if needed, have you had any problems with the maxstone 16

  • My buddy bought this crawler bran new and we were out crawling and he rolled his...rolled twice down a grassy slope just a usual roll and he cracked his front motor box and ripped his whole shock out and cracked a few more piecesit was a bummer so he wanted to try to fix it so we went down to the hobby shop and asked how much it would be for parts and to get it fixed he told us he didn't have the parts and either would any one els because its made in china couldn't get it fix wouldn't recommend

  • @danlockwoodfamily of coarse you cant get parts at the hobby store. its not a name brand crawler. some losi mini rock crawler parts fit. want parts? go to nitrorcx.com and go to the crawler of choice and hit spare parts. also you buddy had bad luck. lol i have rolled mine down a long stair case and nothing broke. still nothing has broke on this thing exept the garbage servo burnt out.

  • Hey M4a1 Dude, I just got a maxstone 16 and was wondering what shock oil you put in the shocks to fix the torque twist problems. (please be specific, brand, ect.)

  • @mastermitchell123 didnt really change out the shock oil. i think i added a drop of thick silicone oil in each one(from one of my gas blowback airsoft pistols). but that didnt do anything. so im still pretty much rocking stock oil still.

  • @M4A1DUDE alright thanks dude

  • @mastermitchell123 do they have progressive trottle? please reply!!

  • @iride831 I will give you the answer when I've found that answer for sure, in the meantime, would you like me to post a video of the MaxStone Crawler in action?

  • Great video-and nice, slow, rock-crawly music! I´m looking for a 1:16th scale chassis to fit with a 1:10 body. I´d been assuming I´d end up with a Losi MRC; but thanks to this video, the Maxstone´s just become a contender. Thanks for posting!

  • hey,im thinking about getting this, this will be my first crawler.is it very good, can you do anything else with it other than crawl?

  • yeah i got it to work i had to shake to remote kinda weird but do have trouble gettin throught rocks with them bumpers bc i got rock guardeses

  • @SuperCrazydude1234 take them off. then shave down the mounting areas for the guards. (if you want)

  • Man I miss my exeed MAD crawler it was a pretty sik lil dude for a cheapy, but as far as these MAX STONES go I see alot of torque twist, but thats easy to fix..I been thinkin on buying one of these 16th's just to use for parts for an 1/18 scale jeep build, the axles look good!!, so do you know much about how durable they are yet? had any problems? looks like you could re-mount those rear shocks to eliminate the twist but you seem to be a good driver so I assume you know what yer doin LOL,NV

  • @rockhopperz93xeedmax check out my other video's i did on it. have some tips and stuff i did to help it further. crawls well now. no problems yet! nothing has broke. even throw it through some tight binds in tight spots with no damage. this video is stock excepts i helped the torque twist very little. as of now i fixed the Torque twist, added 8 oz of weight to the front tires, removed all foam, got a new proline 1980 chevy k5 blazer body on it for when i want to do some not so serious crawling.

  • @M4A1DUDE ya I saw that but ima tell you that you REEEEEALLY need to trim that body out more around the wells and lower it waaay down its to high dude looks silly and the lower the better for recovery and less hand ups, I know you dont wanna trim it up but believe me it will look much better!! and you should go to ckrc.com and order up some nice tires for it..theres no reason you should have to run no foams, those tires must be hard as rocks LOL..try star cutting the foams!!! get some 1.9 rover

  • @rockhopperz93xeedmax body had been trimed out sence day 1. its been lowered, i havent uploaded any now pics tho. i have multiple mounting holes on it. for lower. higher etc. as for the tires they work well. and the tires where soft. not as soft as high quallity tires. but good enought for me i guess. not doing any comp crawling or anything. lol just casual crawling. also cant remount the suspensing. have tried....

  • @M4A1DUDE oh yes you can re-mount the shocks!!! I did no problem on mine!! find 4 pieces of aluminum and extend out the shock mounts on the chassis!! just cut lil rails and add them on to mount the shocks more UP and DOWN or VIRT.!! works killer!! and tiiiiires LOL they are cheap dude!! go to RC4WD.COM and get some 1.9's you will love it then...nice rig though anyway!! so hows she holding up?

  • do u have any troubles with urs bc i do with it i will charge it and then it will just start goin by its self

  • @SuperCrazydude1234 no, i havent. do this. plug battery in. turn on controller, then turn on the truck. make sure your "throttle trim" is in a near center position, or adjust it till its not moving forward, or backward. that should do it!. let me know how it go's.

  • this is sooooo BORING why did you make this video?

  • @njspangenberg Then why the hell are you watching it?....

  • how fast is this??

  • @RsAhNiOtM ---you want fast ?? dont get a crawler LOL...HENCE the name CRAWLER, dude!! these lil 1/16 and 1/18 crawlers are sloooow and better that way! although if you wanted you could throw a Mamba in there er somethin and it would fly!! that would be a joke though...exeed is great stuff for the price and they have great customer support and parts shipping and lists!! go check out some stuff at NitroRCX.com

  • The crawler is MUCH BETTER NOW. i addd a new body, messed with the springs more, so no more Torque twist, also took all the foam out of the tires and added 8oz of weight to the front tires. night and day differance now.

  • Hey can u do a video on how high it can climb because my friend and i have this big track laid out for these rock crawler but he is getting the max stone8

  • This is going to get even more because i know what it can do now thanks man for putting this up

  • @supercobar no problem man. I wanted to give people something they could look into. I remember when i was ready to perchase it there was absolutly nothing on this product. its amazing for the money spent.
