  • A great Robert De Niro impression from the Boss at the beginning there...;)

  • bellissima!!!!!!sei il migliore. le mie amiche ti insultano ma io ti difendo non ti preoccupare

  • I play the hell out of my harp everytime i listen to this song..damn..mouth hurts

  • I'm howling on Main Street.

  • I was once arguing with a guy in a bar over unimportant things...and then "bruce" somehow came up. Instantly we were best friends, buying each other drinks. Thank you Bruce.

  • One of my all time favourite Springsteen songs. Just love it!

  • como mola ! es una de las mejores canciones que tiene el album darkness on the edge of town

  • BOSS! wish people my age can understand that this is REAL music.. i 'm 15 and bruce has been in my heart since i was a little girl

  • @BillYGoatS24 im a 13 yr old guy and ive been listening 2 bruce since i wuz 3

  • @TheJohnny990 but you have to write english languages better.......

  • 1 2 3 !!

  • I always thought Promised Land was the embodiment of American freedom and the ability to control our own destinies. "Pretty sonn little girl I'm gonna take charge." Does anyone agree?

  • @1966woodrow Yup, and you can hear that same theme coming though in Thunder Road and Born to Run as well.

  • GREAT SONG !! I LOVE IT !!

  • yesterday I saw an Iraqi Soldier carry a 90 year old man on his back to a polling site in Kirkuk City

  • "you're responsible for the shameful things and the glorious things that happen under your flag"... one thing that always struck me nice about springsteen is his sense of anti-individualism, community or whatever they call it... at the very rule of neoliberalism, with reganism etc., and of the individualist ideology the guy says something like that... it's really something

  • can you restate that in words that not so smart people like me can understand?

    P.S. Love this song!!!

  • It is not whether or not you're smart, its that babacadomes is writing jibberish. Nobody is supposed to understand it.

  • @babacadomes but yet his stories of getting out and rising above the hardship he saw people going through fundamentally relied upon his individualism

  • This has always been my favorite Bruce song.

  • At lease the French are still working on the Promise Land.

  • Muy bueno Little Stevens Van Zandt en la guitarra y en los coros.Gran trabajo.

  • @manolete1165

it´s Nils Lofgren and not Steve.

  • He is too cute when he says some words in french with his beautiful accent !

  • "Blow away the dreams that tear you apart

Blow away the dreams that break your heart

Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted"

  • Damn... I almost can't listen to this song. Because whenever I feel like I can't believe in the promised land, because it feels so damn far away, I hear that Bruce believes in it. And then I have to do it, too, since he's always right. XD

  • mister i aint a boy no im a man and i believe in a promised land

    long live the boss

i am in love with him

    he loves his fans

    he loves to perform

    and i love him

  • oh my gosh i love you bruce... whenever im down or depressed... you stand me up every time... thank you (:

  • @nipsta3 .....exactly. i just found out our company is closing in may. thats why im watching this right now......lol thank god for him

  • @nipsta3 - So true are your words...my sentiment exactly. An absoulte gem of a song :-) Luv the harmonica intro, just melts me.

  • @nipsta3 yes it's true ....he makes me feel god

  • anyone know what type of harmonica this is?

  • Think it's a Hohner. Not sure, though. :)

  • telecasterLORD73, i am also born in '93 and i am a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. Since my birth i have been to all his concerts here in the Netherlands and this year i'm going again. I also wish i was born in the '70's, because his mid 70's are so f*cking amazing, man i love this.

  • telecasterLORD73, i feel the same way. i watch these and wish i was there! i saw him two nights ago, but my dad shows me his tickets from when he saw im in 1980 and 1988 and stuff, wish i was there

  • Questa e' una delle canzoni piu' belle del Boss.

  • What a song, what a performance, speaks for itself, what else is there to add... It's clips like this that sweeten your soul. Thanks for adding

  • R.I.P. Danny.

  • is this ona dvd?

  • Check out My short cover and please make a comment, I want to know what you think =)

  • mister i aint a boy now im a man and i belive in the promised land. i the music that bruce makes. so powerful and so full of passion. really inspriring music to listen to. by far the greatest live perfomer of all time. hands down. i hope to see him again soon if he comes to town.

  • Blow away the dreams that tear you apart

Blow away the dreams that break your heart

Blow away the lies that leave you nothing

    but lost and brokenhearted...

    Bruce you are the best!!!

  • Why am I born in 93!?!?!?! I should have been there in the 80s!

  • Try 60s. You'd be 30 years older, but it's a price worth paying for seeing Springsteen at his very best - in the mid-late 70s - e.g., @ Passaic, New Jersey. You'd have been 18 around that time.

  • honestly! this is my first time to heard this man!

    Nahum

  • I hope you like it Nahum, the next song is My Hometown, the whole concert is here

  • Lmfao @ Clemons air punching at 3:38.

  • whats the title of the next song!???

    Nahum

  • best rendition by far is the live album set 75-85. omfg that is such a nasty version. cant believe they didnt put prove it all night on that album

  • i agree with you that the best version was on the 75-85 cd

  • it's amazing.the way they sing the emotion they put

  • best song played in paris 85

  • "The dogs on Main Street howl

    'cause they understand

If I could take one moment into my hands"

    love that line

  • Bruce Springsteen was in greatshape in 1985.

  • He actually still is, despite being 23 years older.

  • I love Bruce Springsteen.

  • i just absolutley love President Clarence Clemons

  • I love his music.

    I love all the lyrics.

    God Bless Boss

  • On a rattlesnake speedway in the Utah desert I pick up my money and head back into town Driving cross the Waynesboro county line I got the radio on and I'm just killing time Working all day in my daddy's garage Driving all night chasing some mirage Pretty soon little girl I'm gonna take charge CHORUS The dogs on Main Street howl 'cause they understand If I could take one moment into my hands Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man And I believe in a promised land
  • I've done my best to live the right way

I get up every morning and go to work each day

But your eyes go blind and your blood runs cold

Sometimes I feel so weak I just want to explode

Explode and tear this whole town apart

Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart

Find somebody itching for something to start

  • CHORUS

There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor

I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm

Gonna be a twister to blow everything down

That ain't got the faith to stand its ground

Blow away the dreams that tear you apart

Blow away the dreams that break your heart

Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

    CHORUS

I believe in a promised land...

  • His music is a gift from Lord.

  • super live performer.God bless springsteen and gis family...

  • I LOVE his laugh! :]

  • i heart bruce haha i can listen to this shit all day

  • I love the brilliant harmonika part!

  • やっぱりボスは凄いね!!

  • Super ! Mister Springsteen mérite sa réputation ainsi que son E-street band. Amazing song !

  • Clarence is amazing. He's second after Boss in this band.

  • KUNNE ØNSKE JEG VAR DER!! </3

  • jeg også ;O <3

  • THEY DON'T CALL HIM THE BOSS FOR NOTHIN

  • Fantastico

  • Fantastic. As a younger Boss fan, love seeing the crew in their earlier days.

    Great stuff.

  • Jimbob you sound like a complete idiot. He puts every last energy that he has in all his songs. i saw him last night in Hartford. He still runs the stage like hes 20 years old. U have no idea what the hell your talking about. Go listen to john melloncamp u asshole!

  • Saw him in Copenhagen jan. ´08 - I have to agree with nsper1. Jimbob..huh...

  • cause hes the fuckin man

  • You would be as well if you performed like that. Bruce rules!!!

  • i saw the part that was before this one. Turns out he was allready performing for quite some time. they are just back from a break.

  • kick ass mf..... I love rock in roll

  • what does springsteen say at the end of the video? he says the name of a song in a different language, but which song?

  • He says "de ma vile natale à votre ville natale" (french language) which means "from my hometown to your hometown). Just after that, he obviously sang "My Hometown".

  • They are fucking pumping it up, that's what they're doing.

  • Can somebody tell me, in many of these videos, I see Bruce, Nils, and Clarence raising their right hand, even in the middle of playing! See "Because the Night"- Nils, I thought was pulling back a sleeve, but I keep seeing it throughout E street videos.

  • Are the days of good rock bands concerning themselves about music more than image are over? The shit that commercial radio plays now is fucking garbage. Where are The Ramones?

  • which is the band member called "Little Stevie"?

  • If you're a Sopranos fan, Steven Van Zant plays Silvio...as for this tour, he had already left the band to do solo work and replaced by Nils Lofgren

  • Oh, so THAT's NILS LOFGREN!! Hell, no wonder his playing on "Because the Night" was so fantastic-- he's a legend!!! And of course, the drummer has his own late night gig now, too.. what a tight band! -dovetrees

  • Little Steve or Steve Van Zandt was that guy who always weared a bandana around his head. Looking like a gypsie. It was because of a scar he get from a caraccident in his youth. Nowadays he doesn't wear that bandana anymore 'cause he gets a hair transplantation ;-)

  • (in one way or the other... erhm... I wanna respond, but it's post like a comment)

    2 rainbowed:

@ this vid, the guy with the hat / cap is Little Steve ;-)

(pff... can't post url's...but... try a search for the original glory days vid )

  • The River-- that one shows how pretty Patti was when she was a singer.. if I were Bruce's wife, I'd never have trusted him overseas with her!! And, the inevitable.. but he is still with <i>her, that's great.

  • What the river? The river is from the late 70's... placed on an album in 1980. Patti had a crush on Bruce (And he wrote that song 'oe..oe.. I got a crush on you'...funny) when she was <18, than the Boss told her to come back when she was older... and she did!

(Just read the earlier biographies ;-))

  • beautiful, just beautiful.

  • Chappelow, you are the best.

  • Great song

  • great video, thanks for the post

  • Don't think any other live act will ever come close to Bruce & The Band in the BITUSA tour. Thanks for sharing these!
