@scriptwriter47 Your last three comment are not very clear. "lulu...they suck!!!", isn't a question. "Please tell me why?" doesn't give me any detail on which to answer a question and "Can you be more specific?" is way too general a question. What can I help you with and I'll try to answer and be very specific. Thanks.
I looked into Lulu years ago, but did not have the patience then to follow through. I tried to get my completed manuscript published through the traditional manner, and got empty praises from literary agencies that were always asking for money(s) which I paid, but received nothing in the end. I'm ready to take control again. But I feel I need an editor to peruse my work b4 publishing. Should I just have faith in my work: no extra funds to pay for one! Thanks for your advice in advance.
I just published a poetry book through lulu.com and I can vouch that your video is honest and very helpful. If you look over your work a few times before submitting, your work should be good. Only thing is they require half inch margins, but in OpenOffice .5 doesn't mean .5 but put .6" for the margins and that will work.
@freethillsdotcom Thanks, I hoped it would be helpful. I figure out most everything I spoke about by uing lulu. My bookisout at wwwdotrockyperydotcom. Thanks for asking.
@djmarkalomnd I do have other videos on self publishing and copyrighting an such. look them up on my channel rocko2080
There is one thing I don't understand about this video (BTW, thank you for the very helpful information) -- you could have used this to promote your book, I would have liked to have known what your book was about - is it out there already? My second question is about blank pages - where did you read about the importance of blank pages after TOC and the end of the book? -- You're saving a lot of people trouble, I appreciate what you're doing.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and passing on your tips. One of the most direct and honest reviews of the lulu site. Any other videos on the subject would be appreciated. Gr8
No, i shouldn't take too long. I did have an order that took about two weeks once. If you go to the mylulu tab on the lulu.com site, you can check and see if it says shipped or fullfilling. They will mae it as shipped once they ship it. If you paid for ground mail, you can track it, but if you went the cheapest route, then you can't. My advice, don't gt worried. It will get there.
It is all about the printing. 6x9 works best for them, so that is what yu get. It is also the perfect hardback size and a lot of fiction is 6x9: Harry Potter, Warrior Cats series, and lots and lots more. It is more common than you think these days. the old school 3x6 is kind of fading out, except with older Publishers. I hope you get it worked out. Good luck and post here if I can help any any other way.
@jrsample0425 First. If you do not have it in the 6x9 template(that can be found on their website under the help section of Mylulu) it will not work. Chances are thatis your problem. Other than that, make sure it is in a file format hat they support. A list is provided, but to be safe save it as a regular .doc file. Let me know if that doesnt help and I'll try to think of soething else. good luck.
Hello. I'm in the process of completing my book. Thinking about going through Lulu. I've been looking at some of the other self-publishers too, but they're so expensive. What was the spacing like for your book? was it 1.5, or single spaced? My book is single spaced right now. Don't know if I should keep it there or not. This video was very helpful. I use it and your other vids as references.
@lovepigz2007@lovepigz2007 You need to go to lulu.com and click on the help link in the upper right hand corner. There, you will find a 6x9 template. Download it and place your manuscript into it before you get into editing the format. Once you put it into the template you can cange the spacing to anythign you want, 1.5 or anything. They wil print almost exactlly what you place in that template and upload. I hope that help.
I got it now.

@rocko2080 That was me(dmorganification), asking 'scriptwriter47' "please tell me why" he felt, "Lulu sucks!"
And.... 'Azstarwatcher' asking 'scriptwriter47' "can you be more specific." My original query is below.........

@hubbabubbas2 The page in the back of the book, yes. The front does not have to have a blank page. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Do the blank pages have to be blank front and back?
