I strongly agree with not rushing yourself! I have rushed myself to an inch and I suffered a blowout. I used Teflon onmy 3/4 inch double flared tunnels and used Teflon until the flares were not flares anymore.I had a gap in my ear and even though there was a gap you still need to wait a little bit. I got a blowout and had to downsize immediately. Here Iam again using my 1/2 inch plugs. Just because A plug can fit in your ear does not mean exactly that your capable of having it in there safly.
@TeHwAy2b I'm stretching from 3/4" to 7/8" and I'm planning on doing about 2-3 wraps every 1-2 weeks, not some wraps every day, like most people do. I don't want to rush it, but the only tunnels I have are threaded and it's very hard to keep the tape off the threads. So I used my 3/4" double flared plugs & I'm kinda skeptical about using 2x flares because of the incersion... (1x flared tunnels are smoother). In your experience, was it okay to use 2x flared jewelry? (I started today). Thanks!
@iMurderedPikachu Oh right on! Yeah it's okay using that big of a flare jewerly, but I use teflon tape on my silicone 3/4 inch plugs. The flares are a 1/4 inch bigger than the actual plug so when I reach the end of the flare I'm at 1inch. The silicone is nice to wrap because when you put it in your ear the silicon flares flexes to fit inside your ear.

@tylercrossley123 let them heal up for a while. but in the future, dont stretch with silicon again. go for it with the single flair tunnels, thats safe. SOME people can get away with using silicon but it sounds like it messed your ears up. as a general rule your not gonna want to stretch with silicon or double flares

Secondly my ears are currently at an inch and I work in the criminal justice field making DAMN good money, I also have multiple visible tattoos. @wtfomgzombiez You'd probably have some difficulty doing that. Plus taping at small sizes is problematic because you wont be able gauge it. So when you put a plug/tunnel in it'll be painful.
I'd recommend either finding a larger gauge stud (something like a 1.6mm labret stud or a 2.2 septum retainer)
Stretching quickly and not allowing yourself to heal and not taking care of your lobes by letting your ears rest by taking your plugs out will cause your lobes to thin out. Google it!

@TheMarissaStevens when you stretch too quickly or too big at one time, your ear will get infected and bleed. it basically means you didnt stretch right. its disgusting...try not to get a blowout. i've had two:P but they healed
@DrSeaannnO It's pretty much agreed that "the point of no return" is 2g (6.5mm). But since everyone is different yours may be either bigger or smaller.

so.. i wanna stretch my ears but my parents wont let me.. if im gunna start off small,would it be ok to wrap teflon tape around my regular earring to gauge them?

@wtfomgzombiez You'd probably have some difficulty doing that. Plus taping at small sizes is problematic because you wont be able gauge it. So when you put a plug/tunnel in it'll be painful.
I'd recommend either finding a larger gauge stud (something like a 1.6mm labret stud or a 2.2 septum retainer)
or persuading your parents... good luck! :)

Stretching quickly and not allowing yourself to heal and not taking care of your lobes by letting your ears rest by taking your plugs out will cause your lobes to thin out. Google it!

@DrSeaannnO It's pretty much agreed that "the point of no return" is 2g (6.5mm). But since everyone is different yours may be either bigger or smaller.
