@kezamel you make some valid points and i too feel these issues should be addressed immediately...but enacting a law that in essense would promote racial profiling in a state whose police dept is already known to have violated the rights of brown citizens is not going to solve our problems but make the issue of racism worse...the very people who put this bill together are not at all ashamed to put themselves on camera alongside known white supremacists...that's my issue.

@chingon711 Are you aware that this law only changes 2 things? It allows local police to check immigration status on individuals; before only federal officials could do that. The other is that if an officer finds an illegal alien he is forced to take action to detain that indivdual; if he doesn't he could face a lawsuit for not enforcing immigration laws. Now where's the racist part?

My answer is yes. Both should. In every issue conceivably contentious there are always people on the extreme fringe, and their view is just as valuable as everyone else's
