This is just an example of a freak accident, when Richards was sent to the air after his skate hit the net, and the Malkin pushed him with his one hand causing the motion of Richards' skate to go up. It was an accident, that's all...people just want to blast the Flyers because its easy to do so when you have 5 suspensions (2 which were questionable). Pronger, Simon, Avery, Jaarko Ruutu are all dirty players, but they don't get as much press cause its easier to hate on Philly.

@WFR Flyers are one of the cleanest teams in the league which was one of the reasons they picked up pronger. And you may have these 25 clowns fooled but at the end of the day the flyers have made the playoffs 17 out of the last 18 years.they also are notorious for challenging tie domi (you know the last generations sean avery) with fighting and putting him in his place, you know sticking up for the other teams.. but anywho have fun sucking on that for a while.

Shit happens. This is just an example of a freak accident, when Richards was sent to the air after his skate hit the net, and the Malkin pushed him with his one hand causing the motion of Richards' skate to go up. It was an accident, that's all...people just want to blast the Flyers because its easy to do so when you have 5 suspensions (2 which were questionable). Pronger, Simon, Avery, Jaarko Ruutu are all dirty players, but they don't get as much press cause its easier to hate on Philly.

As for Richards...anyone who calls him dirty or classless or whatever...they're just jealous because they wish they had him on their team. He's a world class leader, he averages a point per game, and is on pace to break 90 points this season. Last year he had 28 goals, 47 assists, and was +9. This year he has 5 goals, 12 assists, and trails only Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby in poitns. He's a clutch scorer, one of the best two-way players in the NHL, a PK wizard, and is hard nosed.

That was definitely intentional. Watch it again. I'm not saying Richards was trying to cut Malkin. He was definitely trying to impede him. There was no reason for his leg to come up there, much less hook around Malkin's upper body. You can see the intent in the motion. It is undebiable.

Also he knew exactly where malkins head would be because he can somehow see behind him while his head is looking straight forward. You are doing a great job of skirting the issue. This has nothing to do with him hitting Malkin in the face. That is irrelevant. Obviously he was not trying to do that. What he was trying to do was slow Malkin down using his leg, which he has done before. Considering what happened to Zednik this year, all NHL players should be doing everything possible to keep their skates on the ice. But Richards is more concerned with pretending he can contain Malkin.

You're totally right. The Pens should get rid of Malkin, but I don't think Shero should trade him for Briere. I was thinking maybe we should use him to get Mark Recchi back in Pittsburgh. The Pens are really hurting without the veteran presence of Recchi on the team. Imagine what they could've done with his 12 goals, 33 assists, and -17 rating? Geno's 44 goals, 58 assists, and +19 simply cannot compare...Geno must go.

The league needs to do something about this. They disallow kicking goals to discourage skate thrusting in the crease yet they let this kind of stuff go.
