  • Easter at a Cathedral? Where's the Bishop??

  • If it has incense, it can't be too low church. The minister at the beginning was wearing a tippet: that's for Morning and Evening Prayer, not for the Eucharist. If he were low church celebrating the Eucharist, he would be wearing a stole in the seasonal colors.

  • Chester - Well, how to answer your comment??!! I know and appreciate the organist who makes this sound most uneffortless...though we know it's not. I was taking this video for my daughter (married in this church) who lives in Indonesia...she wanted to see and hear the Easter process as if she was there...so we didn't include the console...though it is amazing. The principle organist at the Mormon Tabernacle played here recently. No doubt the organ can handle anything or anyone! Thanks!

  • How in the world can a person do a excellent video like this and NOT give us a picture of the CONSOLE and the ORGANIST, merged together in splendid, wonderful music by Widow I think? We must see! Redo this sir! Please!

  • @Chesterbarnes1 Widor's toccata. Never mind the rest. The toccata lends itself to every celebration!

  • I think you will find that liturgically speaking, most mainline denominations and maybe even Roman Catholic services, either with or without Eucharist are slightly or more than slightly less than High Mass as you move further west in the United States. I have found this true also for the Lutheran church whose Eucharistic services in Philadelphia are far more formal than St Mark's Lutheran just down the street from St John's Episcopal.

  • Unless I missed it, this is a chazzie free (And Cope free) low church place. Wow, because even Martin L's ministers favor chazzies these days. Was this M.P. and not a communion service?

  • @brassspitoon - good question. It was Easter with Eucharist. Dean Ellis wears the chasuble from the offertory forward in the service. You're right; not a 'high' or 'anglo-catholic' service...but we love it. The music is awesome.
