It's just not the same......to change a fine institution for political correctness is a slap in the face to all Ole Miss Alumni. I was going to continue a long tradition and send my son there, but I would rather he go somewhere that PC has not taken over the school. No Dixie, no General, No Ole Miss. As a saxophone player in The Pride of the South from 78-81, I'd never actually heard the low brass part of Dixie and Rebel March! Odd. Like my sax part better, but very interesting. Hard to believe as many games that I'd played in that I was never close to the low brass.
