  • How much are these??

  • @Spyridonian Only a couple hundred if you get them from the right places. I got mine from ebay (china) for less than $200.

  • any thick glasses will do for a co2 laser, plastic, glass, sunglasses i would use a face shield but the output is far infrared, nothing on earth can see the beam and since almost EVERYTHING is opaque to it its not going to reflect anywhere. however if it does or by some means you are exposed to the output a thick eye-wear or face shield will give you enough time to escape before it burns thru them.

  • Now just build handles for it and a backpack full of batteries.

  • @timerider4 I thought about that very same thing. I was planning on mounting it in the backpack behind the shoulder. Then use a gimbled mirror to direct it at anything you look at. (Kind of like the predator weapon)

  • what is the black connector connecting the blue negative lead of the supply and the black wire to the laser? is it just for an extention?

  • wat is the maximum focus length? van you burn things lets say 100 meters away

  • @surplusdriller When the laser comes out of the tube it is unfocused parallel light so it should be able to travel quite a distance before it diffuses. When I put the laser in my cnc laser cutter I put a 55mm focusing lens which allows me to cut very detailed designs out of wood and plastic. Take a look at my other videos I use the laser to burn through a variety of different things.

  • where can i buy a laser holder 5000? XD

  • This looks like one of the $100 Ebay co2 laser tubes. If so, did that tube come with the mirrors pre-installed? Also, the gas part is completely sealed, right? How hot does the water get?

  • @xxxY0UxTUBExxx

I did get the laser tube from eBay and paid around $176 including shipping also note that you will need to buy the power supply which cost me around $160. Yes, the mirrors are part of the laser tube and are not removable. Yes, the gas is sealed. The water only reaches 32 degrees C when running for multiple hours. I am using the pump seen in the video and a dual 120mm fan radiator from swiftech (a pc liquid cooling system).

  • Invisible laser? That's kinda scary didn't realize they existed. Then again, didnt go to university for a degree in laser engineering...

  • Why can't you leave the laser on too long?

  • thick block of wood hehe

  • notice all the alcohol in the background?

  • @StarDestroyer5 Going to school for engineering isn't very easy so I have to have something to do to relieve stress, besides building a CNC laser cutter.

  • you know how lasers work rite? its literally a neon sign tube filled with co2 and 2 mirrors on aether end. the one end is just a lab grade not 100% mirror

  • @MrStemkilla Not just Co2 though .

  • @MrStemkilla Yea the co2 laser tube is a very impressive device. It is actually 3 tubes inside of each other. The very center tube (glowing part) has an electrode on each end which acts as the "fancy neon sign". The next tube is for the liquid cooling which also circulates through the mirrors. Finally the outer tube which is attached to the ends of the center tube allows for circulations of the internal gasses.

  • bringing one of these to the next presentation!

  • Hi is it a chinese laser from ebay? Want one for my cnc

  • Why don't you keep it on instead of doing pulses

  • @Spicyperson9123 That was literally the first time I actually tested the laser tube, so I didn't know what to expect. Also I had read somewhere that the power supplies default setting might be more that 40 watts which could damage the tube. Now that the laser is in my CNC and it is calibrated I can run it for very long periods of time.
