if the "live" you is standing in the projection of the "bass/tanned" you, then I'd say the color of the light beaming on you live (the "background" white) is washing out your tan color. That's what I think.
Except that it's the same light the "projected" me was standing in. So I need to calibrate one of my projector's memories to the "hdmi out" on my laptop. Then it should be identical. I was using the calibration memory for my blu-ray player in the video...
