  • wait a sec, im back, and i watched your video a couple times, and i answered my own question (maybe). so correct me if i'm wrong, but if i order the "extreme fisheye" it is actually only one part of the entire "wide angle" package? so i have the option to use either one? i misunderstood at first i think. haha sorry. btw, i am aware that my nikon would have 40.5mm threads and i would need the step-up and reversible rings(: thank you for the clairity

  • thank you so much man best video so far. im new to this, and your video helped me out, im glad i could get a fish eye for my nikon j1 so cheap... i was nervous... i NEED a fisheye for biking. thats what all the cool people use. lol but i have a question! uh, what fisheye would you recomend for street and park bmx biking? i want the extreme one, but i dont know what motion will look like with it because you didnt move the camera. i dont want it "too" annoying. thanks again, man. appreciate it!

  • The seller doesnt ship outside US, where can i buy internationally?

    DX sells this.com/p/sakar-58mm-0-45x-wide-angle-lens-filter-set-29630

Is the same you think? A little bit expensive compared to 11 dollars

  • Can The Wide Angle Macro Fit On A FujiFilm Finepix S2940?

  • how much is that camera?

  • does the lens have a tread

  • or u could just flip the lens

  • Do you think this would work for a DVX100 if i got a 72-58 step down and 58-58 reversing ring? The camcorders lens is 72 so i was wondering if it'll matter since its stepping down rather then up. Thanks.

  • nice video! but how can you put a 40.5-58mm on a 58mm objective?? doesn't the Step-up filter upgrade the thread size of the objective from 40.5 to 58? but the objective is already 58mm right? i would like to try this on my camera but first of all i've to understand this, maybe my understanding of english is not good enough :S thanks in advance!

  • this is so cool! you are so cool! omg! omz! sweet! awesome! hamp...champ dudette@ work the camera like a mastaaaaaaaaazoooooberwe

  • i bought exactly the same lens and rings and put it on my HD2000. but why is my camera producing out of focus video n image with the lens on?It did create the wide/fish eye effect but out of focus. When i took it off, the video is in normal form again. What is the problem? pls help.

  • I have the same model you use in the video, I just got the adapters and lenses, but I don't know how to thread them to the camera. I try screwing it on but it doesn't stick. what do I do?

  • yoo man i have a samsung hmx h100 thats 37mm.. if i get a 37-58 and then a 58-58 reverse ring will this work as well? thanks

  • @rcbmx17 In theory it should, but I can't say for sure. This set up had horrible results when I tried it on my DSLR. I don't know if it's because the Sanyo had a different method for determining focus or what it could have been. I had the hmx-h100 before, but I didn't test this lens set up on it. I also don't know what part of the sensor the Samsung uses for video recording. Most Sanyo camcorders use the center of the sensor for video. In photo mode I saw a mild vignette.

  • @andrewcp WHy do you say you had horrible results with your DSLR? What happened exactly?

  • Ok, sorry just re-watched this a couple of times and realised: you put it on backwards. got it, thanks. queery solved :)

  • ok a little confused here: the reverse ring is supposed to be male-to-male right? so wouldn't you need another female-to-female for the wide angle to fit on.

or are there male-to-female reversing rings? ...that wouldn't be "reeversing" anymore now would it?

  • can this method work with canon 550d 18-55mm lens?

    and what do i need?

  • @reincarnage256 This will probably give you awful results with a DSLR. When I tried this on my Olympus E-520 w/14-42mm lens the pictures pretty much all looked terrible. The only usable results were when I was at the long end of the lens. By zooming in, I was kind of defeating the purpose of having the wide angle.

  • @reincarnage256

Andrew is right, i wish I would have seen this before buying my wide-angle lens, I have a 550D and this gives an awful result, so don't buy it. I wasted my money as I had to buy a 67mm which was more than 30 dollars. as a suggestion spend in a fish eye converter instead of this method for a dslr.

  • @5sunny01 What Fisheye converter are you talking about?

  • Hey, I was just wondering what is a reversing ring and what affect does it give the camera?

  • Thanks for posting this review it was very helpful.

  • Amazing! Big help! Off to buy from ebay now :D

  • what is the thread size of the wide angle lens? my gf orderes this same WA and was wondering about the size to get a few filters. Thanks in advance.

  • @eikeriera The outside threads are 62mm. You can see that here watch?v=GARN38LHvcA

  • @andrewcp thanks man

  • This is great, just wonder if it works for me. I have the HD2000 + 40.5-52mm step-up ring + Macro lens + Wide angle lens. Do I just need to get a 52-52mm ring?

  • @azuremain Yes, you would just need a 52mm reversing ring for your set up.

  • @andrewcp: Thanks, I'll try this.

  • Canon HF s10

  • Hi, i really like that EXTREME wide angle effect. I have the same wide angle lens as your's but my camera is 58mm. So to get that extreme look do i need to buy two 58mm reversing rings?

  • @arnuliux What kind of camera is it?

  • Shit you help me out big time! Cheers!

  • Is the fish eye as pronounced if you'd use the reversing ring on your dslr? I'm wondering if the extra distance created by the step-up is making your wide-angle fishier because of the decreased overall focal length. In that case people who already have 58mm filter threads should probably use two instead of just one.

  • i have a sayno hd2000 and the lens has a silver ring around it should i take it off somehow to put on a lens?

  • hi, it is very cool what u did there. extreme wide angle! i'm just wondering, will it work with my sanyo hd2000?

  • @dlooza The HD2000 is basically the same camera just with an upgraded sensor and possibly processor as well. This would work just fine for that model.

  • Hi, great vid! Planning to buy this lens as well. How does it perform in dark situations? I'm a DJ, and I'm planning to use this fisheye effect to record myself. I own a Sanyo HD2000, and in overall it performs pretty well in dark (clubby) situations. I'm know just wondering whether the lens will work for me.

    Thanks!

  • im looking to do this also, a couple questions...

so do you have to have the 58mm reverse ring? cause im going to go from 39mm to 58mm and then attach the wide angle lens to it.

  • @CompleteFisherman If you want the ultrawide/fisheye type of effect you need the reversing ring. If you only want to use the wide angle as intended it isn't necessary.

  • GREAT VIDEO! - If I have questions when finally ordering all this, will you help me a little?

  • @EXOcontralto Sure. What kind of camcorder will it be?

  • @andrewcp - Sanyo Xacti VPC-hd1010

  • @EXOcontralto Oh, Awesome. That's the same model as mine. That will make it easy for me to help if you need it. Do you have the black version like mine, or is yours gray?

  • @andrewcp - Nice, mine's the Black version as well. How convenient - But seriously, I really like the "Fisheye" effect you ultimately got with your purchase; and with no vignetting or fringing !WOW! - That's why I think I will buy the same lenses =)

  • @EXOcontralto I've noticed some slight chromatic aberration in really high contrast places, and near the edges of the frame, but I've definitely seen worse performance from more expensive options. There is a small amount of vignette in photos because of the 4 to 3 aspect ratio, but none in widescreen videos.
