@myrddin021 Catched it at the first moment. The movie is so amazing and now I remember it's Score is from Zimmer (: ...Is it possible to bring Christoph Waltz and Hans Zimmer together in a movie so they could win at least 2 Oscars for best actor and compositor? (:
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! I have been looking for it for years...kinda tricky since I forgot who composed it...what it was called....that I was looking for it all along...
nice to see the man himself in this video, and for god sake will ppl stop argueing about POTC music, yes Klaus took credit for the music in the film but Hans did more work than ppl think, a lot of the themes from that film came from Hans, and were did u get James Horner from! Hans couldnt take credit for the first film because he was doing a lot of work for King Arthur and didnt spend as much time on this film, but Klause did and thats why he get the credit. Love this vid tho, all them ppl 5/5
Well, if you think that you'd be wrong...AGAIN!!! If you were smart and looked at the back of #1's case you would see that a guy named Klaus Badelt wrote the music to it. Corndick.
I never said that Zimmer didn't contribute. I just said that Badelt was the main person to be credited. Sometimes it's best to keep a simple answer with the short sparked people. Forgive me for this.
yes but you're still not getting the point...he's shit at conducting. end of story. he's lost without his little helpers on his massive computer farm at his nice big mansion. infact he doesn't lift a finger.
Your right, he's not conducting - it's one of the guys in the his Remote Control Productions. But how do you know personally how he is at conducting? Have you seen him, do you even know him, or even talked to him? I doubt it - so don't assume shit when you don't even know.
There is no way Hans could be good at conducting. He admits himself that he's terrible at reading music. And reading music is kind of important for a conductor.
Haha. And he's like one of the best composers out there? That's funny shit man. And I thought that if I messed up a little bit on my music during any kind of performance it was bad! Still love his music though.
Grateful* Picture a cliff, the wind erodes away at the cliff, eventually it destroys it. The cliff is your musical imagination, and the wind is Hans Zimmer.

Herman I think we were separated at birth or something. The ability to appreciate the banal, its just something we don't have. I'm so greatful for this; sure there's lots of music I hate with a passion, but I wouldn't change this for a million bucks.

of course, I will express my opinion: Zimmer is a looser and everyone who listens to his commercial trash knows nothing about film music at all. It's shame, but scores in the 80s and in the early 90s were so much better...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yes, kamen was also a real composer, who composed real music. zimmer synthesizes and re-synthesizers his old themes, supported by his untalented disciples at media venture. potc, the rock, gladiator, king arthur, drop zone, etc. have all the same main theme. please, do not glorify this crap!
people are free to listen to whatever music they like. if it's crap then they're listening to crap. you yourself don't have to listen but you have no right to tell others what to listen to. just as you are free to express your opinion, you have that right and everyone will have to respect that.
You are a looser, you are not human, you don't understand anything about his music. When a person listens his music their feeling grew up, he has an amazing talent, he is the boss, if you don't be feeling depth or you don't even cry listening "This Land" from "The Lion King" or "The Burning Bush" from "The Prince of Egypt" you don't have feelings in your heart, you don't understand the life, you can not express yourself. You don't understand anything...
one man's trash may be another man's treasure...keep that in mind...goes for everything in life...and when you say same main themes....no...I've been a musician for 12 years and yes i can hear the similarities between the songs you stated above...but if they were the same...obviously movie companies wouldn't seek him out as the soundtrack composer...and one last thing...who are you to criticize him or his work? i am more than sure he IS and WILL remain more successful than you ever will be

zimmer destroys good music, his stew of shit is just a cruel rip-off of good standart pachelbel-like harmonies (D, A, Bm, F#m, G, D, G, A) and yes: I'm no human, I'm the antichrist himself! :-)
You are sooo true there. I tooo am a musician and love Zimmer. So many styles he has, sad, happy, heroic, peaceful, romantic, grunty, and beautiful. and same with me, I hav noticed some similarities, but, if u realy look at them closely, they are completely different.
well, I'm not agree with you. But in fact, everyone can have his own opinion. I like Hans more than Williams and Goldsmith. They make good stuff too, but not really fantastic or hero-like. Its just good movie score, not else. Michael Kamen was for me also a good man, died unfortunately...

yes, I believe I can do better. zimmer is a looser. his music is either stolen (true romance, potc => theme from the rock, gladiator, drop zone, etc...) or crap (all the rest). he does not deserve this kind of estimation. go and hail goldsmith or williams instead, kiddies! they produce real music not this soulless media venture scum...
zimmer is the best composer like john williams but they have different taste this thing wasnt stolen from the hook that movie suck batman begins was a good score now how can u beat that
You're so cool...a great piece but I actually don't like this version, maybe due to the poor sound quality or something. It just seems too messy here, too many noises competing.

This piece always reminds me of Miusica Poetica from Carl Orff.
I find Carl Orffs version is far more moving and haunting.
Oh, was used in the film Badlands, my fav road movie with Sissy Spacik (excuse spelling)

He was actually assistant composer to one of his protégés Klaus Badelt for the original POTC. He took sole credit for the two sequels.

Physicists can come up with amazing theories, but they can't test them without help. e.g. The Large Hadron Collider
I suppose soon you will expect composers to play all the instruments themselves or something, and then magically combine them without a computer.

This is the music of True Romance, an American motion picture released in 1993, directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino.
The composer is the Famous Hans Zimmer, True Romance is based on a familiar piece by Carl Orff (1895-1982), autor of Carmina Burana ...
