It brings tears to my eyes knowing what these great men and women sacrificed only to see Ireland and the rest of Europe let themselves be led to genocide by our eternal enemies; the enemies of Christ and Europe! St Patrick drove them out and Cromwell brought them back! 1916-2012!
cusack brot me here and he is so dear my heart has a tear and with God no fears tis wonderous to hear such a bold spoken poem with compassion for the passionate ~blessings always~
His words make me feel once more my grandmother's pain and her pride when she spoke of Ireland. Fifty years ago, she died. but only now do I understand the sorrow she did not share.
I am Irish born in America and searching for history. I am told my great grandfather was a friend of Pierce and Dev. His name was Hegarty ( not sure of proper spelling) to hear these words again awoke in me my pride and brought me back to my childhood listening to albums of the rebels speeches poems and songs. My family would sing and dance and cry. These are some of my earliest and happiest memories. Thanks for the post.
They think they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have forseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools. the folls, the fools! -they have left us our fenian dead, and while Ireland hold these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.
excellent video, 10/10, my bro is at 4.26 in the doorway, lol, brings back memories, some very bad, but, some with a little flutter of laughter. he laughs at it though, we had the craic about them days!!!, he wont say who is standing beside him, i respect that, well , what can i say, May our Lord Jesus Christ Have mercy on all departed souls.
The image that shows up for this video before you play it is that of Liam Lynch, Commander and Cheif of the Irish Republican Army during the Civil war. KIA in the knockmealdown mountains.
Just incase some think he was Padraig pearse. At 1:19 you see James Connolly and at 1:22 you'll see Padraig Pearse. If anyone wants to know who the others are just ask. Thanks.
@Thuglordrpt -Thanks for posting the words of Pearse.... always an inspiration - tyrants, hypocrites and liars..... words for we American citizens here in 2010 ....
@Thuglordrpt Now the soldiers Ireland needs are narrative historians and a good HBO series. The tactics England employed against the Irish were those used by any oppressive regime at any time anywhere. Northern Ireland is fruit of the poisoned tree that England planted. The repopulations of Northern Ireland remains a crime against the indigenous Irish. Media moves popular opinion but few remember Ireland's sorrows anywhere but Ireland now.

If only you had a crumb of the greatness he had, you ignorant, and lowly nothing.
Why not listen or read what he said ,or are you afraid of something as rare as this amazing human being.
Shame on your ignorant heart
