I am Irish born in America and searching for history. I am told my great grandfather was a friend of Pierce and Dev. His name was Hegarty ( not sure of proper spelling) to hear these words again awoke in me my pride and brought me back to my childhood listening to albums of the rebels speeches poems and songs. My family would sing and dance and cry. These are some of my earliest and happiest memories. Thanks for the post.

The tactics England employed against the Irish were those used by any oppressive regime at any time anywhere. Northern Ireland is fruit of the poisoned tree that England planted.
