Overeem had more visible muscle mass then Jones when he fought Rua and it still didn't help him. If height played a significant role in combat sports, then it would be a criteria used in making divisions like weight is, but its not. Also I haven't heard any stats saying taller fighters when more often then their shorter opponents in the same weight class.
